Loss
Last few minutes. Gangrel tries a bloodbath but Edge gets the best of it. Gangrel interferes a few moments later after a Debra distraction and Jarrett regains the IC title.
Tim Evans
I guess Edge winning the title was just for the hometown pop? Nice outfit on Debra. The Austin/Jarrett stunfest continues.
soup23
Quick switch back to Jarrett as he wins back the IC title here with an assist from Gangrel. That lime green bikini outfit from Debra showed it was summertime in the WWF.
PeteF3
Not-bad closing stretch. Edge no-sells an attempted bloodbath, but Gangrel recovers to cost him the title anyway.
War is Raw
Fans dug this match, but WWF fans were hot in 1999. Really showed that they were supportive of Edge, the youngster. Jarrett led this match. Probably was too long, but that's WWF's PPV timing. They had to fill time. Jeff with his usual 1990s impact moves but not much in the mat wrestling or high flying department you'd expect from someone his size. That's OK, though- he's a heel. This was a standard veteran vs youngster match. The heat segment was long (sleeper was boring) and but Edge's comeback was ruined by the lights going off, leading to the lame screwy finish with being distracted by Debra's bikini. Edge was being put over as being athletic due to his powerbomb, spear, and impact moves, some speed- but nothing Jeff Hardy-like yet. Jarrett belongs as an opener- can do the heel work and go as long as needed. Nothing truly special. The title switch continues the devaluing of WWE championships at ZERO. Things picked up with the climax, but a forgettable match. Not recommended.
