I'm not the most versed on TNA, it's pretty much a blindspot for me. I know we have at least a couple of TNA supporters on this board, BigBadMick you're the main one I'm thinking of. Any chance that at some point you could put together a sort of watch list for people who have been nominated who did spend time in TNA? Matt D Posted October 2, 2014 Report Share Posted October 2, 2014 Given the dates, that list doesn't really have the guys I'm most interested in watching and that might make my list, like Sting (who is a long shot), Jeff Hardy (again, something of a long shot), and Christian. I'll have to do diligence on Styles and Aries, at least; that I admit, but I can't really imagine most of the X-Division mainstays getting much traction since I'm not a big fan of what I've seen or the style. I did see the Storm vs Harris death match at the urging of Stacy and some people on DVDVR and while it wasn't perfect, I still enjoyed it a lot. That's got to be the best TNA match I ever saw as of now, at least. In general, I get the feeling from TNA (and from what people so often highlight and suggest and hold as the best matches) that if you're not a fan of the X-Division style (or Jarrett BS main events), you're sort of out of luck, which I just can't imagine can be completely true for a promotion that's had so many years and so much TV. concrete1992 Posted October 2, 2014 Report Share Posted October 2, 2014 Given the dates, that list doesn't really have the guys I'm most interested in watching and that might make my list, like Sting (who is a long shot), Jeff Hardy (again, something of a long shot), and Christian. I'll have to do diligence on Styles and Aries, at least; that I admit, but I can't really imagine most of the X-Division mainstays getting much traction since I'm not a big fan of what I've seen or the style. I did see the Storm vs Harris death match at the urging of Stacy and some people on DVDVR and while it wasn't perfect, I still enjoyed it a lot. That's got to be the best TNA match I ever saw as of now, at least. In general, I get the feeling from TNA (and from what people so often highlight and suggest and hold as the best matches) that if you're not a fan of the X-Division style (or Jarrett BS main events), you're sort of out of luck, which I just can't imagine can be completely true for a promotion that's had so many years and so much TV. No problem - just go after the guys you like. If you take a liking to 2012, a lot of the tv during late spring and summer into the Bound for Glory series is very good also. Once I finish the 00s Puroresu. He's someone I think compares favorably to Styles though without the backing of the bookers even on someone like AJ's level. Always thought his singles run was quite good for an X-Divisioner, was the better half of MCMG and had a super month during his brief World Title push before TNA went TNA and put the focus back on a hap-hazard motorcycle gang. Also showed very strong range during his feud with Velvet Sky and an approach to being a "true heel" and a level of unselfishness that you don't see all that much from today's heels.
