goc
Joe Blanchard would also like to remind the currently annoyed WWF that it was Joe who argued more strongly than anyone that the WWF should retain the rights to Andre the Giant. Beast
Waiting for Joe Blanchard to show up to an NWA meeting with a nose still carrying a tinge of brown on it that he forgot to wipe off.
goc
Joe Blanchard is not an NWA member and thus is not coming to any meetings at all. He also takes offense to your insinuation seeing as he has been more on guard against any THEORETICAL expansion from the WWF than anyone. Â Joe is also a little miffed that WCCW never officially accepted his apology for running in Ft. Worth. Those 35 people at the last show would have stuck around for more. Southwest Championship Wrestling COULD come back!
JHawk
Â Rotundo and Brad Armstrong going the last few hours have me totally boned. I'm not sure anybody else in my top 20 are going to fit in the same role. Â Just don't take Mosca, Jr. He's the shits. Â Mosca Jr. isn't even in my top 100. He'll make an excellent 30 second squash guy when I draft him as the last guy available though
Matt D
Â Blanchard promotes like he wrestled.

peachchaos
Never thought losing Phil LaFon in a fantasy wrestling draft could feel so soul crushing.
goc
I need to see some early Phil LaFon I guess? dawho seemed to put a lot of stock in getting him, you wanted him and he was recommended to me by someone as a dark horse late pick (although I suspected dawho with Montreal to take him way before I would) Â At this point I have no idea what a dark horse for this thing is. I guess just the people that NONE of us know outside of "I think that's a jobber?"
peachchaos
I'm just a huge Can-Am Express mark and he trained and worked in Stampede. Never seen his work around this time though.
goc
I almost feel like I could pull any obscure name off the list that I don't know and bring him up in here and someone would get nervous about their "dark horse" getting attention. Â Not that Phil LaFon is obscure at all. But multiple people having plans for Johnny Rodz is telling of where we are headed now.
Dylan Waco
Lafon could be good in a workrate tag team in 83.

goc
I think these picks might start getting more painful than the bigger names. The person you thought might just be in your mind alone and allowed yourself to create big stories and long plans for.
dedhemingway
I've got two tag teams I'm looking at, one of which I don't believe was tagging at the time, but with two draft picks back to back I don't believe that will really matter. One of the two teams I'm almost absolutely sure no one will pick, the other has some potential to be selected. Â I think that one advantage of being Central States is that it should be possible to grab some guys with name recognition in the territory later, without too much worry of them getting snapped up. Â EDIT: I'm also going to reach out for some help on things. I have some experience, simply from EWR and TEW, in how to put together cards, things like that, so I'm not worried there, HOWEVER, I don't have the knowledge most of you guys have from watching tons of tape and stuff... Â Where would be the best place to research my territory? I've tried Google/Wikipedia, and it's a start, but outside of that I'm a little lost... Â Also, thinking of running my tapings on Monday, is this a good fit? Not sure on that, either. Â Not looking for people to run my territory for me, but I want to be able to work with people, so I'm looking to get a feel for this part of things. goc
http://www.kayfabememories.com/Regions/ Â It can be hit and miss and searching by year is not really possible but if you find the right territory that actually got a good writer you can gain a lot of insight. I didn't link straight to Central States because it can be useful for anyone wanting the same thing. Â Beyond that, perhaps searching for threads on Central States on wrestlingclassics. Googling "Central States wrestlingclassics" should give you some stuff on that front.
dedhemingway
Much appreciated. Like I said earlier, it's starting to get to the time where I'd probably be better off searching for workers with history in the area, and, while Wikipedia has given me some direction in that area, I am looking to learn more, especially since I have a less 'famous' territory. goc
You pretty much have (and I am not giving anything away anyone who knows Central States knows these were there guys) Rufus R. Jones & Bulldog Bob Brown as your two big Central States names. After that it's kind of a revolving door of young guys, guys who were pretty shitty and uhh I think that might cover it?
dedhemingway
Bulldog Brown I already knew about, and, given the reputation he has, I don't think anyone intends to pick him before I do (and, for the record, I do intend to), Jones I did not, but I'll look into that. Â I was more so looking at guys that had worked the promotion previously, which opens things up some more. Â Sorry if I post a lot in here, I get really excited with stuff like this. I've been part of the EWR/TEW community for, like, a decade now, writing 'diaries' and things like that. I love booking, and talking booking. It's incredibly fun for me. goc
I also want to say there has been one name high on my list every time that I pass over because I don't know what to do with him. He's a pretty big deal though and am shocked he is not taken. This guy was The Great Kabuki. Â I kept thinking about taking him. I kept having some person who I talk to on Classics ask me if I drafted Kabuki yet. But I didn't know what the hell to do with him. There was a vague outline of having an odd couple team with Saito with one of them going babyface. I already saw Kabuki do it and it worked shockingly well. Saito...it would have been fun to think about making him babyface against that fucker Kabuki who spit mist on his eyes. Â But in the end I just had bigger plans for other people. Dylan Waco
Horner was someone I really wanted, especially after Prichard and Lafon fell off the board. This puts me in a weird position as now I'm not sure I can fill one of my key needs BUT I am almost positive I can fill my other one. Dylan Waco
Going through the available names to update my depth chart and there is one person who I think has been severely undervalued. The problem is I am not sure that he has any real value to me in the vision I currently have laid out. Makes me next pick tough. I almost hope he's off the board by that point. goc
I have to say that one of the things I'm looking forward to with this project is that I will be booking to a "big" show every week instead of building towards PPVs the way I do in my TEW game. I always thought it would be more fun to do the Memphis style booking where you can hotshot an angle and just get 1 big main event out of it and move on and not have to try and sustain momentum for something through 4 or 8 weeks. Â It's a little change from the way Southwest actually ran, but they did do a San Antonio show every week, at least as far as I can tell. My arena shows will still be a little sleepy and dull in typical Southwest fashion to get things started but eventually I hope I can get a real revolving door of opponents coming in and out for Duggan, The Fabs and maybe even Tully that would let me do a lot of quick 2-3 week programs that I can keep the heat on the whole time. Dylan Waco
As it stands there are 33 people I could actually see myself drafting and getting some value out of either as a spot filler on the card or trade bait. Of those 33, maybe 12 are people I could see being positioned well on my cards. There are another 10-12 people out there I could see drafting if I absolutely had to, though I don't know WTF I would do with them. Â The point in saying all of this is that I have no earthly idea how we are even going to get to round twenty, let alone round thirty.
goc
I think mathematically it works out to around 24 people per person so at least there is no worry about round thirty.
