JerryvonKramer
The WWF is committed to bringing through young talent and giving them exposure and experience "for the good of the business". The WWF fans are very good at remembering faces, and, who knows, one day the young hopefuls they see on TV could see their name in lights at the world famous Madison Square Gardens. But everyone has to start somewhere. The deal consists of the following: - 3 months of TV tapings every Wednesday, the youngster will appear on WWF Superstars or WWF Challenge - The youngster will be booked to a win, win, loss pattern. First win over a jobber, second win over a JTTS, loss to a star - The youngster may occassionally be used in small angles as part of the TV, but will not be featured in stroylines - The youngster may occassionally tag with another youngster against a more established team. - The youngster, on rare occassions, may get some mic time. - The youngster will not appear at big arena shows or house shows - The youngster will not be given any title shots, any matches against champions will be considered "non-title". - Babyfaces will be under the watch of Dominic Denucci, who will ensure they are treated well in the locker room and will offer feedback on their matches. - Heels will be under the watch of Baron Scicluna, who will do the same but on the heel side. - The youngster must be aged 27 or younger. When the deal is over, the home promotion has an "upgrade" option on the scheme to graduate to "Phase 2" Phase 2 consists of: - 3 months of working MSG, Philly Spectrum, Boston Gardens and Meadlowlands on Tuesday nights plus TV dates on Wednesday as required. - The youngster will get wins against bigger names on a bigger stage, but will still be part of the win, win, loss pattern - The youngster may get occassional title shots at WWF title, IC title and Tag title level - The youngster may also be part of storylines. - All phase 2 candidates must have completed the first three months of the scheme. There are only ever SIX places available on the initial phase of the scheme. Three babyfaces and three heels. The July 1983 intake (starting July 5th running to September 28th) is: Babyfaces: Bret Hart Tommy Rogers El Gran Apollo Heels: Bobby Eaton Dr. Death Steve Williams [currently free] October 1983 intake: Babyfaces: Brickhouse Brown Heels: This means there is one spot left for a young heel to take. The WWF will consider any offers. The next intake is set for October 1983. At this point all existing candidates will be offered to graduate to phase 2 or go back to their home promotion full-time. The WWF will consider offers for the October 1983 intake (starting October 5th running to December 28th) also.
JHawk
I would like to offer up Brickhouse Brown for the October-December run please. And based on WWE's schedule, We will request that he still be available to work both groups during that period since he would not miss any dates for the WWF in doing so (we run TV and major shows on Saturdays and if I do midweek house shows I just won't use him). JerryvonKramer
Sure, we'll take him. Excellent potential as an energetic young babyface. He may be tagged on occassion with SD Jones.
goodhelmet
Yang Seung-Hi will be available until October 5th from New Japan. He started in 1978 so he might slip under your 27 year old requirement.
JerryvonKramer
He would work under a mask as a heel and be billed as "The Ninja".
JerryvonKramer
I'd prefer Ryuma Go to that guy for the developmental scheme if I'm honest. Especially because the crowd could chant "Go Ryuma Go!"
goodhelmet
Ryuma Go is already old. Look at my New Japan farm system if you are looking for NJ talent.
JerryvonKramer
Akira Maeda is more the bracket of talent we'd be looking for on the scheme. Look at the other names on the scheme and think about it.
goodhelmet
Akira Maeda is not available for extended amounts of time. Yang Seung-Hi isn't a complete jobber. His strength is machine-like.
JerryvonKramer
This is a scheme for generating future stars, not enhancement talent.

JerryvonKramer
I am aware of who he is (see also Ninja gimmick suggestion).
goodhelmet
If you don't want a future member of the Machines, it's fine.
JerryvonKramer
Send some decent talent Mr. Inoki and we will be happy to accommodate.
goodhelmet
Offer withdrawn. The NJ / WWF relationship is off to a rocky start.
JerryvonKramer
Vince Sr is an honourable man and has noted this disrespect from Inoki. "Andre, when are you going on that tour again? Hmmm." "Brisco, do you still have Giant Baba's number?" "All the things I've done for that Inoki! The strings I pulled for that Ali deal!" "I'm a man of my word!" goodhelmet
goc
Joe Blanchard has asked me to inform Mr. Inoki that he would never disrespect the honorable head of New Japan Pro Wrestling or any of his Japanese talent the way that Mr. Vince McMahon Sr. has done. Joe, in his overly compassionate way, feels the pain of the disrespect that Mr. Inoki has suffered here.
peachchaos
This is why Stu Hart never drinks the water when he visits New York City.
JerryvonKramer
The loyalties of fellow promoters has been noted. He offers me a jobber Japanese and refuses to send any of his potential stars and you all side with him? I see where this is headed.
peachchaos
Stu Hart is indifferent to the actual argument and feels both Mr. Inoki and Mr. McMahon deserve to be treated with greater respect. Perhaps a bridge too far, Stu is offering to send Davey Boy Smith to WWF developmental for Sept-Nov and Jim Neidhart to WWF for Nov-Jan. We would also like to invite Yang Seung-Hi to work Stampede and train in the Dungeon.
JerryvonKramer
We would gladly take both Davey Boy and Neidhart, but the "terms" run from October to December, as per the original post. If Stu Hart is agreed, we can make that official now. Would Neidhart be willing to work heel?
peachchaos
October to December is good for both Davey and Neidhart. Jim can certainly work heel, maybe you can work out a nickname based on his powerful physique.
JerryvonKramer
"The Anvil" be alright?
peachchaos
Sometimes I don't know where you and your son come up with this stuff, Vince. Would we be able to bring Backlund up North for a series of title defenses throughout the year? Maybe 3 dates?
