MFoy
Hey everyone. I just finished a new episode of List Em and Learn. The topic is top 10 things that Justin Shapiro and I are most thankful for in wrestling. If you end up listening, let me know what you think. Thanks. Happy Thanksgiving! http://www.thecubsfan.com/2015/11/26/list-em-and-learn-episode-11-stackable/

SomethingSavage
Awesome possum. Always a fan of these, man. Just went back and listened to the drama TV series & NES episodes a week or so ago. Hoping for more of those alternative shows in the future, but this one's definitely appreciated. JerryvonKramer
Haven't listened to your NES episode, but I will definitely check that out. Just going to put my list together before I do ... 10. Gyromite - probably doesn't deserve to be anywhere near, but this is still one of the oddest games I've ever owned. Came with R.O.B., an actual robot, and you had this gyrating disc that he would have to pick up -- while still spinning -- and drop onto a big A or B button which would cause the columns on the screen to go up or down and then on your own controller you could run through with the professor. Weirdest. Game. Ever. 9. Wrecking Crew - This is a wicked game, and an obscure Mario outing. 8. Duck Hunt - Great music, addictive as hell, and of course the fucking dog. 7. Legend of Zelda - might seem a low rating, but I honestly never felt the greatness of this series until Zelda 3: Link to the Past on SNES. THAT was awesome, but this one less so imo. 6. Super Mario Bros 2 - it might be a Doki Doki Panic clone and feel weird, but it's still a great game, and underrated imo 5. Megaman 3 - rock hard, but not quite a impossible as Mega Man 1, like all the Mega Man games, insanely good music. 4. Super Mario Bros - I have no respect for anyone who can't do 1-1 on auto pilot and who can't get to at least 4-2 without losing a life. 3. Punchout!! - love the characters, I actually liked the SNES sequel better, theme music is awesome 2. Megaman 2 - design perfection, GOAT music in any video game, period 1. Super Mario Bros 3 - contender for GOAT any format With Contra and Metroid, again I felt those were better in their SNES incarnations. Sorry about that, always been a huge Nintendo mark. Smack2k
Fuck it, I will join Parv and toss in my 10 favorite, not best, NES games, as I am a big retro game fan and collect old systems mostly, but some games 10. Tecmo Bowl - The first football game that got it right..amazing gameplay. 9. Bionic Commando - Using your arm to swing around and climb up levels, tough platforming, and blowing up Hitler's head (although he's not Hitler in American Version) 8. Castlevania 2 - Loved the RPG Elements to this one 7. Metroid - Lost in that place forever without help from a guide 6. Life Force - Contra Code, couldnt beat it without it 5. Mega Man 2 - Best Mega Man game ever, hard but fun levels and amazing music, as Parv mentioned 4. The Legend of Zelda - Its Zelda, what else to say? 3. Super Mario 3 - The game looked simply amazing on an NES, like it didnt belong on that system due to the graphics. The gameplay is addictive as hell / the power ups were unreal. 2. Rygar - Spent an entire overnight beating this game as an 11 year old, and still love the game today. Hard as well. 1. Tecmo Super Bowl - I dont know if there is an NES game I played more than this...I was 13 and it had full seasons / playoffs / rosters you could modify / playbooks..amazing for 1991 Sorry as well, as it doesnt fit here.....checking out the podcast this weekend. MFoy
I'm really digging your lists, guys. I don't want to spoil mine if you haven't listened yet. I appreciate the support. For the record, my link in the op was to a wrestling-themed episode, so it's not my fault this thread got off-topic, haha. That said, I wholeheartedly enjoy this tangent.
