GOTNW
I LOVE PRO WRESTLING. If you're looking for transcendent violence and WAR-esque matches filled with actual hate instead of just lame and tired tropes that have clouded modern japanese wrestling this is your best bet. Just an amazing match with Hideki Suzuki and Nakanoue murdering each other and unleashing shoot headbutts and Futen head kicks and stomps on each other. The match gets thrown out and then restarted, Suzuki'spartner tries to hold him back and then Suzuki loses him temper and beats the hell out of him and all the young boys.......honestly if you like violence in pro wrestling I cannot imagine you not loving this match. The only complaint I could see is that it wasn't long enough but it didn't feel like it was lacking in any way. I'm tracking down every tag with Suzuki-Nakanoue interactions now. ****1/
JimArg
This was great, I don't even know the cause of the hatred between Nakanoue and Suzuki, but if they produce more matches like this, let the rivalry last forever. Seriously, the PRIDE stomps of Suzuki, Nakanoue punching him when he wasn't even in the match (something you will see in a feud like Dandy/Fiera) the outside brawling, everything was amazingly violent. WingedEagle
This was very intense and pretty heated for the duration, however, it was under 5 minutes. Would love to see what they can put together over a 15+ minute match. Okabayashi looks fantastic every time I see him. Really need to dig deeper there as I've only seen a few touted matches but he seems right up my alley, moreso than Sekimoto. Could probably go about ***1/4 - ***1/2 given how long they went here. superkix
Yeah, I don't think I can rate this but the exchanges between Suzuki and Nakanoue were super heated and fun, and Suzuki gave zero fucks about anyone out there. Not sure if there's real beef between the two, but yeah, if this results in a singles match between the two, good lord, sign me up.
Phil Schneider
Not sure why Nakanoue and Suzuki want to murder each other, but they sure as shit do and this was totally awesome. They start potatoing each other in the aisle and can't be pulled apart with the ref throwing the whole match out 50 seconds in. They scream at each other on the microphone and they restart the match and they go back to beating on each other with concussion causing headbutts and leaping headstomps, eventually Suzuki beats up his partner because he was trying to keep him from slaughtering Nakanoue. I love this kind of stuff, felt like a classic WAR v. NJ match or a Kazunari Murakami fight.
KB8
Yeah, this was the business. For a sub-five minute match I couldn't have asked for much more. Like, sure, I guess it would've been cool if they'd kept going for a little while longer, but like GOTNW I don't think it actually felt incomplete at what we got. The Suzuki/Nakanoue relationship has deteriorated even further and their hatred towards one another can't be constrained by the rules of a pro-wrestling match. Suzuki was pretty much the world's best potato-farming crowbar bastard imaginable in this. Loved it when he just started laying into his own partner for getting in his way. Then Uto decided he'd had enough and smashed him back, but Suzuki doesn't even give a shit because all he wants to do is jump on Nakanoue's head and who needs a tag team partner anyway? Match kind of reminded me of a Hashimoto v Ogawa tag and if you're successfully aping Hash v Ogawa then you're alright with me.
