LowBlowPodcast
I love the pure unpredictability from Lutte. I would have never bet on Mando Guerrero beating Larry Z... but the Machine upset over Rick Martel. Just pure fun to sit and read about what could happen in a promotion that is totally unpredictable. dexstar
I think Lutte - because of the size it's grown to and the matchups it's presenting - is one of the better divergences from the real timeline, taking a territory that certainly wasn't this 'big' in the real world at this time and turning it into a flagship promotion. Great job!
GeneJackson95
I agree that the unpredictability is a big part of what makes this such a fun promotion, yet it's not just random things done for shock value, it's believable yet not predictable which is often hard to pull off. I'm loving what you are doing with Steve Regal!

SirEdger
NWA Lutte Internationale TV Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC Broadcasted July 20th, 1985 Again, time constraints are forcing me to use recap mode. Should be back to the normal format next week. -Kicking off this week's show is the tag team match featuring the team of Richard Charland & Mad Dog Lefebvre vs "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal & his mystery partner. And Frenchy's Legion was in for quite a surprise when Regal introduced his partner: RICK MARTEL! Turned out that Regal & Martel gelled surprisingly well together in the match, having their moments but eventually, Frenchy Martin's involvement to teach Regal a lesson outside cost Mr. Electricity the match as he was counted out, allowing the victory to Charland & Lefebvre. Rick Martel wasn't too pleased by the tactics of Frenchy Martin outside and gave Frenchy's Legion a piece of his mind. Looks like L'Alliance Québécoise might already have some cracks... -Gilles "The Fish" Poisson then came out for an interview at the desk. Poisson basically complained about how much attention have been given to the Guerreros since their arrival in the territory. Poisson says he's heard a lot about how their father Gory Guerrero taught them how to use his infamous Gory Special and he frankly believes that there's no way he would ever tap out to this submission maneuver. Poisson even believes he's a better submission artist than any of the Guerreros. Poisson vows to expose the Guerreros and run them out of the territory by the end of the summer! -Up next, Bob Backlund goes into the ring one-on-one with one half of the NWA World Tag Team Champions, the ever dangerous Botswana Beast along with Eddy "The Brain" Creatchman. It should be no surprise to anyone that The Brain tried to influence the course of the match and interfere in the match. Creatchman almost was successful in his master plan to defeat Backlund but in the end, referee Luigi Macera caught Eddy red-handed with the cane and threw him out of the studio! A distracted Botswana Beast then fell prey to a roll-up by Bob Backlund and the veteran scored an oh-so-important victory! -It's main event time with the much anticipated Falls Count Anywhere Match featuring NWA Canadian International Heavyweight Champion Andre the Giant and one member of the Machines. While many expected Super Strong Machine to take the challenge to Andre, it's gonna be Strong Machine 3 showing up to wrestle the behemoth. However, it doesn't take long for the Machines to take advantage of the No DQ format of a Falls Count Anywhere match as they take turns beating up and trying to weaken the champion. However, luckily for Andre, NWA Canadian International TV Champion Gino Brito & Dino Bravo came to Andre's aid as Gino jumped on Super Strong Machine & Dino neutralized Strong Machine 2 in the process. It's in complete chaos that Andre will finally score the victory with a double underhook suplex outside the ring, right in front of the broadcast booth to retain his championship. This week's episode ended with a staredown between Gino Brito & Super Strong Machine and if we could see through Super Strong Machine's mask, he would definitely have stared daggers at the TV champion. Andre celebrated with his friends Gino & Dino! À LA SEMAINE PROCHAINE SI DIEU LE VEUT!

kevinmcfl
Nice card in Winnipeg with a lot of star power. The Spoiler would be a nice partner to help show the young rockers the ropes.
SirEdger
I would've had even more star power had it not been for the Great American Bash Tour. Original plans had Ric Flair defending the NWA World Heavyweight Championship against Baron Von Raschke but obviously couldn't happen. So I sent Baron Von Raschke and some others for the Bash tour on that date instead.

GeneJackson95
Mando Guerrero who is often the forgotten Guerrero has scored some great wins lately. Dory Funk Jr has to be making a strong case for another run as NWA World Champion one day.
SirEdger
Yeah, that's the beauty of a smaller territory like mine; I can allow some workers who didn't have to shine in bigger territories to shine brighter here.

SirEdger
NWA Lutte Internationale TV Taped at CHLT-TV Studios, Sherbrooke, QC Broadcasted July 27th, 1985 -To kickoff this week's show, Rick Martel joins the broadcast booth for an interview with Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier. While Martel says that he's now focused on winning the NWA World Heavyweight Championship after beating Ric Flair by countout at the Great American Bash tour, he still is a bit bit disapppointed about losing the NWA Canadian International Tag Team titles to the Midnight Rockers in Charlotte and is hoping to get another opportunity against the champs down the line. Right on cue, here comes the Midnight Rockers onto the set. They both praise Rick Martel as a tremendous athlete and say that they are honoured to have shared the ring with him and they wish him the best of luck in his quest to become NWA World Heavyweight Champion. However, the Rockers say that since they're free this week, they'd like to partly grant Martel's request by having one of them wrestle him in this week's main event. Martel says that he's also free so this would be his pleasure. Marty Jannetty steps in front of the line and volunteers to wrestle Martel this week. Looks like our main event is set! -In our opening match, Frenchy's Legion - including Frenchy Martin himself take on the team of Alexis Potter, Scotty Jewel & Drummond Cotterill. The poor enhancement talents are no match for Frenchy's Legion and it's Frenchy himself who scores the win over Potter following a spike piledriver with Mad Dog Lefebvre. After the match, Frenchy's Legion are headed to the broadcast booth for a post-match promo. They're here to plug their respective matches Sunday night in London vs The Great Samu & NWA World Tag Team Champion Lord Humongous in singles action. Frenchy says that the Quebec Alliance is stronger than ever and they're set on avenging the Rougeaus loss to the Creatchman Family and become NWA World Tag Team Champions themselves. They vow to cut the head of the snake on Sunday night and that snake is Eddy Creatchman. Frenchy says he'll make sure that The Brain won't be a factor in any of those matches in London Sunday night. -Up next, Bob Backlund steps into the ring against Rip Oliver, accompanied by his manager Sherri Martel. During the match, the broadcast team mentions the random occurence the other night when Bob Orton worked a Lutte event wearing the cutoff Sensational jacket that Terry Taylor has and they question if he could come in as Taylor's replacement in the group. Sherri is still having the cutoff jacket with her at ringside. As expected, Sherri gets herself involved and momentarily distracts Backlund and the team hypes Backlund's title match vs Andre the Giant tonight in Toronto and how a loss could affect his momentum going into this match. Luckily for Backlund, he's able to regain momentum and he will capture the victory following his patented Crossface Chickenwing on Oliver, who has no choice but to give up! Can Backlund carry this momentum onto tonight and dethrone Andre? -Before the main event, Guy Hauray & Édouard Carpentier announce that next week, Andre is back on Lutte TV and will go one-on-one with The Spoiler and in our feature bout, Hector Guerrero goes one-on-one with Raymond Rougeau! -Main event time as Rick Martel takes on NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champion Marty Jannetty, who's accompanied by Shawn Michaels at ringside. Great scientific match filled with excitement and speed from both athletes in the ring. Several nearfalls from Marty Jannetty who comes within an eyelash in several nearfalls to score the victory over Martel. But in the end, it's gonna be Rick Martel who will score the pinfall victory after a beautiful cross body block on Marty Jannetty. After the match, Martel shake hands with both Jannetty & Michaels and before we go off-the-air, Martel reiterates his intention to Ric Flair that he's coming after his NWA World Heavyweight Championship!
