Ricky Jackson
Episode 88 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-88 January 21, 1984 The boys review a super fun show this week. Andre the Giant is in town, so it's time to get down and jive! -Rick "Rudd" pops in for a match. Too bad Kamala doesn't have the atomic drop in his arsenal -Has Bill Mercer been hitting the bottle? -Kevin has been hitting "the Shine" too hard and now he's addicted -Plus a wild main event between Andre/Iceman and the Super D's. The snowflakes may want to skip the post-match though!
Ricky Jackson
Episode 89 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-89 January 28, 1984 The boys look at an interesting offering from WCCW. Not particularly good, but interesting... -Ron Cheatham: an unknown great worker...who proceeds to drop off the face of the earth after two matches in the territory -Chief Whitecloud: No, not THAT Chief Whitecloud -Let's make the matches more snappy to appeal to the new marks -And a pretty fun main event with a babyface superteam going against Devestation Inc.! Ricky Jackson
Episode 90 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-90-ft-worth-star-wars-1301984 January 30, 1984 With WCCW perhaps as red hot as it would ever be, the boys have yet another megacard to break down, this time from the Tarrant County Convention Center in Ft. Worth! Stacked card, featuring… -Junkyard Dog vs Kamala -Iceman Parsons/Adias vs THE DESTROYERS (don’t call ‘em Super D’s) -Iceman vs Skandor Akbar, 5 minute time limit -Kerry/David/Mike Von Erich vs The Freebirds, Six Man tag titles -Mike vs Ric Flair, 10 minute time limit -Chris Adams vs Jimmy Garvin, for the held-up American title in a steel cage This was one of the most entertaining and interesting WCCW cards the boys have ever discussed (and it’s not on the Network – check it out here https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV6RCTo_Cd0B1U0WSnjb7Wqy4C9lQGpdl&feature=share ) , with airtight booking up and down the card. They also provide in-depth analysis of Mike Von Erich’s controversial, career-making evening. And, in many ways, this show was the peak of the territory before things began to slowly unravel.
Ricky Jackson
Episode 91 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-91-announcement-of-david-von-erichs-passing February 11, 1984 The boys review the episode of WCCW where Bill Mercer announces the passing of David Von Erich at the very end of the show, preceded by a full wrestling card. The card is reviewed first and then the announcement is discussed. It is a controversial topic, with three different opinions offered on how it was handled. Kelly's mic unfortunately died at the start of the show, so his take was recorded solo at a later date. (and apologies for the quality of his audio) The boys will provide a thorough examination of the impact of David's death and his wrestling legacy in three weeks when they review the March 3 tribute episode
Ricky Jackson
Episode 92 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-92 February 18, 1984 (This episode of WCCW was taped before David Von Erich died, and for the most part the boys review it through that lens. The next two weeks will deal with the ramifications of David's death and pay tribute to the man and the wrestler) An all time classic WCCW match highlights an otherwise fairly mundane show... -Nobody wants to wrestle the Missing Link -Lucha stars make a rare appearance in Dallas -Mike Von Erich continues to be a polarizing figure -And Ric Flair vs Chris Adams for the NWA title in a super awesome main event! Also, look out for a special episode on June 5th - Johnny Sorrow turns 50 and the boys celebrate by paying tribute to the great Junkyard Dog! Among the JYD highlights... -Early days in wrestling -Run in Stampede as Big Daddy Ritter -A superhero in Mid South -Participation in a weak-ass Dog Collar match in WWF -The touring attraction -And two great matches from Houston to top it off! Ricky Jackson
Episode 93 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-93 February 25, 1984 The boys review a somber David Von Erich tribute card from the Sportatorium... -The son of a legendary 60s manager debuts, as does the son of a legendary 60s wrestler -The ladies are here and, much like present day, they outshine a lot of the men -A big match between Iceman and the Link -And the hottest feud in the territory, Adams/Sunshine vs Garvin/Precious, keeps on going strong

Happ Hazzard
Great show as usual guys, but I think you should have used "Heaven Needed a Champion" as the outro music. (I couldn't find the original version with the woman singing so here's the legendary Glen Goza's rendition which I had never heard before today). Ricky Jackson
I chose "Heaven" by the Talking Heads for a few reasons, one being the title suggests "Heaven Needed a Champion" and its relation to David. The version I used is from the film Stop Making Sense, which was released in 1984. But it's mainly a personal song, one I envisioned as the final song on the last episode of Titans (symmetry with episode 0, which used "Road to Nowhere" by the Talking Heads). Since we are wrapping things up soon, I wanted to use "Heaven" as an outro, and this seemed as good a spot as any for it

World Cast dies to birth PWOM, like a Phoenix dying to birth a podcast network with a name based on a passive aggressive joke!
Happ Hazzard
Is this going to be the swan song for you guys or are you going to be doing something else after World Cast is over?
Ricky Jackson
No plans as of now, but I'm sure we will get together for occasional special releases. I do have tons of ideas for future projects, but it all depends on being motivated. Having lost a lot of enthusiasm for wrestling doesn't help
Ricky Jackson
Episode 96 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-96-high-school-spot-show-january-12-1984 January 12, 1984 A random handheld from a high school show in Greenville, TX highlights the first of the Final Five episodes, as the boys countdown to the series finale with #100! The matches are nothing special and we've seen them a million times anyway, but the crowd is absolutely crazy and this is a great snapshot of a territory at its zenith. Enjoy! RIP (this was recorded prior to his passing) May 26, 1984 The boys review one last Sportatorium show, taped right after the Parade of Champions. They are definitely treated to some better action than they were when they raised the curtain on this show with January 2, 1982. (Tom "Boogaloo" Shaft anyone?) Highlights include... -Jules Strongbow arrives to bid adieu to the boys for a second time, tearing it up vs Kelly Kiniski -The Candyman is heel vs heel crazy -NWA champ Kerry Von Erich takes on challenger Ric Flair (man, that's weird to type) -Plus one last bonus match: Jimmy Garvin/Precious vs Chris Adams/Stella Mae French (whaaa???), Loser Leaves Town cage match from July 4, 1984! Ricky Jackson
Episode 100 https://soundcloud.com/prowrestlingonly/world-cast-100-adios-amigos August 22, 2020 The boys gather one last time (until the 2023 ten year reunion Patreon sellout tour) and shoot the shit on what they loved (and a bit on what they loathed) about the last three years spent watching WCCW. They also talk about what happens to the territory for the rest of the 80s and what highlights and lowlights they will miss. Laughs! Tears? Parallel universes?!?! And someone maybe barfs!
