I don't care what you guys say; I just marked for the inclusion of the Survivor Series '89 match. That's technically the first wrestling match I ever saw.

I'm kinda surprised they released a DVD of him to be honest, since Dusty's the antithesis of everything WWE wants their workers to be. They wany everyone to have the same look with the toned bodies and get themselves over using the same cookie cutter promos everyone else uses.

Dusty wouldn't even get a tryout in Deep South if he broke into the business today.

This right here is why I will buy the set.

Could tell us why youre so impressed?

Im iffy on the set. Something seems off, maybe the matches are too old school for my liking? Does anyone know how good, er entertaining the matches from the 70s are?

Im more than a lil annoyed that theres no War Games matches included or anything from the SuperPowers team with Nikita Koloff. They at least need to have that full angle where Koloff turned face.

Ah, because I am a Dick Murdoch mark and I have zero footage of his time with Dusty. I am putting together a comp of his time in St. Louis, Mid South and the NWA but it seems incomplete. While my comp will be finished before this set is released, at least it will give people a chance to go even further back into his career.

As with all these retroy DVD's I think it looks awesome. A lot of the stuff tagging with Sting is great, and his other matches from around that time were usually really entertaining. The only match I can think of that I'd have liked to see on there that's not would be one of his matches with Windham over the US title. The more recent matches with guys like Corino, and the kiss my ass club, are all fun too in different ways.

I'm looking forward to this a lot and all the mic work wlil be awesome. A real reminder of how to cut great interviews by one of the best.

Got this over the weekend, and it's pretty much everything it was expected to be. The documentary was very well done, with a LOT of people being interviewed, including TREVOR MURDOCH~! Lots and lots of extras, but a warning: The Florida stuff is clipped, including the '81 title win over Race. Many people may already know and expect that, but it needed to be brought up.

Also, to Will: The Bruiser/Crusher matches are clipped (second one is 2/3 falls), but the Robinson/Muraco one (also 2/3 falls) is in full and runs about 21 minutes. If you've never seen early 70s Don Muraco before, you're in for a bit of shock, considering what he looked like in the 80s.

I should add that the "American Dream" theme is in the documentary and extras, which is a little strange considering it was edited out of WM6 in the WM Anthology.

I noticed that too, I guess it's just another sign that they totally cheaped out on the WM set.

I love how everyone kayfabed around the "was the polka dot thing a rib?" question with the final answer being "yeah, pretty much, but Dusty made it work". I love how Dusty pointed out that it was the most money he made in a year with a "stick that up your ass" look in his eyes. Also, Bruce Pritchard's Dusty impression is as shockingly accurate as his Roddy Piper impression. He's like wrestling's Rich Little.

The stuff with Dustin was wrenching, and a textbook example of Bitches Be Trippin' as you'll ever see.

Nice to see them get a mention of Cody Runnels and his athetic background in as well, since he's in (I think) OVW right now.

Got it and watched the whole thing today. My only complaint is that of course HHH had to put his 2 cents in like he does on every fucking DVD.

I'm no HHH fan, but in fairness to the guy, there hasn't been that many DVDs he's commented on.

On top of that, they had tons of people interviewed for this one. The most I've seen in fact.

Got mine from the DDD sale. I checked it out at Wal-Mart last week, filled with curiosity over this talking case talk I'd heard about. After pressing the case, I expected a brief soundbite from the American Dream. Instead, I was horrified to realize I'd unleashed an intense and LENGTHY promo from a shouting Dusty Rhodes admist the entire home entertainment section.

I slowly backed away and moved on to another area of the store where the endless promo was less audible.

I just picked this up. This set is tremendous, and really shows the potential of the WWE tape library.

-The Rhodes/Flair match, along with a few others, contains alternate commentary by Dusty and co. Sometimes it's fine. In this case though, it detracts from a huge match. It just seems like a better moment with the original commentary, heard on the Bloodbath dvd.

Dusty's not the kind of worker that you can watch 2-3 hours at a time. This set has so much good stuff on it for the price however that it's an easy recommendation.
