rainmakerrtv Posted 10 hours ago Author Report Posted 10 hours ago Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, August 15th Rob Zakowski vs. Matt Quinlan One of the many high points of PCW's 1990 rookie class has been young Rob Zakowski. While he is affiliated with the sinister Hexagon, the Michigan native has gathered a bit of a cult following for his daredevil style and death defying moves. Zakowski completely overwhelmed Quinlan before polishing him off with a spectacular Split Legged Moonsault. It looks like the sky is the limit for young Zakowski. The Thrillseekers vs. The Midnight Express In their long history with PCW, the Midnight Express have consistently been either champions or contenders for any titles they set their mind to. In spite of their unscrupulous tactics and Jim Cornette's big mouth, there is no denying that they are an incredibly skilled team who have taken on all challengers. Currently two thirds of the Pacific Trios champs, Lane and Eaton took on a duo of hungry young contenders in the Thrillseekers. The younger members of the Brigade were eager to show that they had what it takes, and gave a good accounting of themselves. There was no getting around the teamwork of the Express, taking down Storm with a double goozle. No doubt about it, the Midnight Express remain the benchmark for tag team excellence. Pacific Television Title Match : Big Bully Busick © vs. Eddie Guerrero At Deseret Storm, Dean Malenko pulled off a major upset by pinning dominant TV champ Big Bully Busick. Malenko will get his shot at the title at Phoenix Firestorm, but first Busick will face Malenko's partner, Eddie Guerrero. The second generation wrestler gave a concerted effort , keeping the beloved champion on his toes with his bold offense. In the end, he got too bold, running straight into a devastating Spinebuster Slam. Time will tell if Busick can pull this off against the Iceman. Steven Regal vs. John Tatum Months ago, John Tatum brought Makhan Singh into PCW to terrorize all and sundry. The man determined to put a stop to his rampage is the English Lion himself, Steven Regal. Before he would face Singh at Phoenix Firestorm, Regal would square off with the Monster's Boss, Hollywood John. Tatum tried his usual tricks and treachery, but Regal was having none of it, flattening Tatum with a spinning forearm smash before forcing him to tap out to the Regal Stretch. No doubt about it, Regal is coming into Phoenix Firestorm at full speed. Rick Martel vs. David Young Rick Martel is gunning hard for Ted Dibiase and his Pacific Heavyweight Title. The Man Of Means certainly knows this could well be his toughest challenge yet, so he is sending the youngest member of the Terror Collective in as a road block. Young landed some hard shots and did all he could, but Martel had a considerable experience advantage and was riding incredible momentum. Martel was able to catch Young in a sunset flip and held him down for the three count. Martel is clearly primed and ready for his big title shot. Quote
rainmakerrtv Posted 9 hours ago Author Report Posted 9 hours ago Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Cow Palace , San Francisco, on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, August 16th Chris Hamrick vs. Jimmy Del Ray Hamrick continued his run of impressive performances, pinning the Gigolo with the Franken-Hamrick. Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Buddy Rose Ouellet's war with the Playboy Club rolled on. Taking on the Playboy himself, PCO had Rose lined up for the Cannonball when, once again, Tina Ferrari attempted to shove him off the turnbuckle. Ouellet caught her and proceeded to chase Ferrari around the ring before he was waylaid by Scotty The Body, who took him down with a Body Shot (DDT) on the concrete. Rose conveniently distracted the ref while all this was going on, stealing the win by countout. Barry Windham vs. Booker T Last week, Chris Adams took down one of the members of the Brigade. This week, Windham returned the favor, pinning League Of Gentlemen member Booker T following a Superplex. Fans are eagerly awaiting Windham and Adams finally going one on one. Golden State Tag Team Title Match : The Oregon Wrecking Crew (Gary Albright & David Young) © vs. Jason Jett & David Cash Young bounced back from his earlier loss by taking out Cash with the Spinebuster Slam , successfully defending the Golden State titles. Bret Hart vs. Scotty The Body The Hitman avenged his friend PCO's loss by battering Scotty from pillar to post, submitting him to the Sharpshooter. Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Ted Dibiase © vs. Dan Severn Dibiase seemed to immediately regret signing the contract with Severn, who proved a particularly fearsome challenger. No matter what Dibiase threw at Severn, the leader of the Citadel kept raging back with weardown holds and suplexes. Dibiase tried to take the low road, pulling his loaded glove out of his trunks. His plans were thwarted by Severn kicking it out of his hands before he could put it on. Dibase desperately tried to pick it back up off the ground, but Severn savagely stomped hard on his hand. The Beast seemed to become truly enraged, stomping the hand of Means over and over again as Dibiase writhed in pain before Severn started pummeling him with his own loaded glove . This led to a DQ, but that was little comfort for Dibiase , who was clearly in agony as he left the ring . Not a great omen for his upcoming title defense against Rick Martel. Quote
