kevinmcfl
Like the choice of Taylor as the champ. His character is so good at playing both sides of the fence that he can really square off against anyone.
spaldoni
AWA TV @The Hammond Center 10-18-89 Larry Nelson: Hello everyone and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. We've got a lot in store for you tonight. AWA World Champion Hulk Hogan will be here. Speaking of champions, for those of you who don't know, we have a new AWA International champion. Let's bring him out right now, the Red Rooster Terry Taylor. Taylor struts out in a sparkling red jacket with the title on his shoulder. Nelson: Terry, you defeated Paul Orndorff just days after the Happening. As you know at the Happening Stan Hansen reinjured Orndorff's neck. Paul went against Doctor's orders and wrestled you anyways. Taylor: I'm going to cut you off right there Nelson. What are you, in love with Orndorff? I earned the title shot and I did what I told everybody I was going to do. I went out and won the International title. Fair and square might I add. See, he isn't so wonderful. How many times do I have to tell you. The AWA is a henhouse and who runs the henhouse? The Rooster! I'm the cock of the walk and brother this title proves I can back up everything I say. That's right, I walk it like I talk it. So, bring on the so called challengers and I'll take them down one by one. Red Rooster is running this place and everybody better get used to it! Commercial Break Blackblood w/Skandor Akbar vs. Jay Thompson Blood destroys his opponent and finishes him off with a knee drop from the top rope. Nelson: Ok Akbar, you really pulled off a dirty trick at the Happening. El Canek wins the match only to find out an imposter was under the mask. As if that wasn't bad enough, the real Blackblood attacks Canek. Akbar: (laughs) Greg Gagne was right, Canek is a moron. Blackblood's mission is to terminate El Canek, so if the moron is stupid enough to want more, come and get it because we'll be waiting! Commercial Break The Renegade Warriors vs. Vinergy w/The Vin Man Both teams are vying for a title shot and show up tonight with their A games. Vinergy show off their speed and strength while the Warriors are in sync with stereo moves. After a few minutes the Warriors are in control. They double chop Putski down, then double slam Dukes. Putski staggers up as Chris hits a flying press 1..2..Vinnie runs into the ring and breaks it. The Ref calls for the DQ. The Warriors grab Vinnie and hoist him up for a double suplex but Vinergy regroups and attacks the Warriors. Both teams keep fighting into the commercial break Commercial Break The Rock n Roll Express vs. Carl Kellerman and Ray Glader The fans are up and cheering as RnR win the match with a double dropkick. Nelson: Ok it's official, you two will get a shot at the National tag titles in Alaska on November 2nd. RnR cut a promo and say now that they're done with the Moondogs, it's time to focus on the gold! They say rock n roll is here to stay in the AWA! Commercial Break 'Sir' Tony St. Clair w/Les Thornton vs. Paul Redman St. Clair puts on a wrestling clinic and wins the match with a floating butterfly suplex. Nelson: Les, Tony, at the Happening, Carlos Colon took you to the limit and I think surprised you with his wrestling skills. Thornton: Carlos Colon managed to pull off a once in a lifetime miracle. Rest assured a rematch will be signed and rest assured Sir Tony will show that savage why he's simply the best. St. Clair: Lace up your wrestling boots Colon, because we're going to do this again. Commercial Break 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer vs. 'The Foreman' Spike Huber Sawyer attacks at the bell and is relentless. Huber manages to get in some offense, but Sawyer is on another level tonight. Huber is tough and manages to give Sawyer some more hard shots. Then Sawyer retakes control and is brutal. Sawyer finishes things off with the powerslam! Sawyer paces the ring like a lunatic before leaving. Commercial Break Nelson is in the middle of the ring. Nelson: Coming out now are the winners of the War Games match, I'm talking about the All-Stars, Austin Idol, Chicky Starr, Bill Dundee, Dream Machine and Brian Adias. Boos as the All-Stars slowly enter the ring with smiles. They all hug and high five. Nelson: Austin Idol, because you got the winning fall, you will get a world title match with Hulk Hogan in Alaska. But before we get to that, there was some controversy at the War Games and I'm talking about Glamour Doll bringing you a steel pipe to help finish off Sweet Brown Sugar. Just what the hell was that all about? The All-Stars shrug their shoulders and smile. Idol: Relax darling. You just ruined the surprise. Please welcome the newest member of the All-Stars, Glamour Doll. Doll is elated as he runs into the ring and hugs everybody. Doll: People need friends around here and who could ask for better friends than the most elite group in wrestling, the All-Stars! Idol: Doll, you earned your stripes and we welcome you with open arms. Everybody pats Doll on the back. Idol: Now! As for you Dope Hogan! Kiss your belt goodbye darling because it's coming to the All-Stars! Hey everybody knows that Idolmania has been running wild a lot longer than your weak DopeAmania. I mean, take a look at us, we're what's happening in wrestling. You're nothing but a stooge Hogan. You're a puppet for the network. When I win that world title, the All-Stars are going to change the game forever in the AWA and that's a promise Jack! The All-Stars raise Idol's arms in victory. Commercial Break AWA TV Champ 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi vs. Willie Lopez The newly crowned TV champ looks great tonight and wins the match with a flying elbow from the top rope. Nelson: Ok, Tom Brandi, congratulations on winning the TV title at the Happening. I know the TV title contenders drawings will return soon, so a lot of wrestlers will be gunning for your title. Brandi: You got that right but I can assure you and all these great fans that I've never been more prepared and focused in my life. I'm more than ready for all the top competition the AWA has to offer. Commercial Break 'The Mighty Yankee' Steve Disalvo and Karachi Vice vs. Soultaker and the Moondogs w/Skandor Akbar This match is hard hitting and chaotic! Disalvo and Taker have some brutal exchanges. Of course the Moondogs bring out the heel side of Karachi Vice as they battle. In the end we get a wild pier six brawl. During the melee, Disalvo grabs Moondog Spot and hits a German Suplex for the win. The bell rings but Soultaker runs over and fights with Disalvo. They fight to the outside and all around the ring while Karachi Vice and the Moondogs tear it up inside the ring. Commercial Break The Russian Nightmare' Nikita Koloff vs. Carl Kellerman Nikita makes his return to the ring since WrestleRock. Nikita is in total control when there's a commotion at ringside. Nelson: Wait a minute! I know who that is! That's Colonel Debeers!. What's he doing here? Debeers circles the ring twirling his mustache. Nikita stares at him but gets back to his match and finishes things off with the Russian Sickle! Debeers stares at Nikita and calmly strolls away Nikita cuts a promo and says he's back and in the best shape of his life. He also says he has no idea why Col Debeers is here but warned him by saying he better watch himself and the Russian Sickle. Commercial Break Nelson: I've asked Nikita Koloff to stay out here. On November 16th, there will be a special pay per view called No Holds Barred, the match/the movie. Fans will watch the movie No Holds Barred and then afterwards from the St. Paul Civic Center there will be a tag team match. Jumbo Tsuruta and Tatsumi Fujinami will take on Nikita Koloff and this man, the AWA world champion Hulk Hogan! Eye of the tiger blasts as Hogan storms out and into the ring. He shakes Nikita's hand and raises his arm. Nelson: At the Happening, Jumbo Tsuruta made his return but luckily Nikita was on commentary and was there to even things up. Now the match has been signed. But before that Hulk, you will defend your world title against Austin Idol in Alaska. Busy month for you. Hogan: Well you know something Lethal Larry, things got crazy at the Happening but my main man Nikita Koloff saved the day brother. That no good dirty coward Ray Stevens thought he had a master plan but the Russian Nightmare spoiled everything! So, on November 16th after you watch my movie No Holds Barred, Nikita and I are going to handle those two dudes and put them down once and for all. Oh but don't think for one minute I've forgotten about you Austin Idol. You're good at running your big mouth but brother, I'm going to slam you down and put my boot in your mouth and shut you up for good. Then it's onto Jumbo and Tatsumi and whatcha all going to do when Nikita Koloff and Hulkamania run wild on you!!!!! Hogan and Nikita high five and pump up the crowd to end the show. A new feud is born between Vinergy & the Warriors. RnR is coming for the Olympians. Thornton & St Clair are determined to prove that Colon is no wrestler. Mad Dog mauls Huber. GD is officially an All-Star. Brandi sets out to be a fighting champion. Devastation Inc goes down in a wild six man tag. Nikita is ready to stand with Hogan against Steven's men. rainmakerrtv
Nice work in redeeming the Red Rooster gimmick, tailoring it, ahem, into something that fits TT's smug and cocky attitude.
Scarlet-Left
Loved this show! Lots of fun segments! Hulk Hogan & Nikita Koloff versus Jumbo Tsuruta & Tatsumi Fujinami should be great!
kevinmcfl
Loved your promo with Taylor. I think he is a bit underrated as he was good as a fan favorite and heel and was pretty good at the technical stuff in the ring. Can't wait to see what you do with Debeers. I was never sure how to far to push his gimmick but looking forward to your take. I think you have done a great job throughout the time with Carlos Colon. I think you have nailed it perfectly. He is someone I think would have been even bigger with more time in the U.S. He seemed to be able to work any type of match and you have captured that perfectly. Also, love the idea of a movie and a match. Very creative and a great way to make Hogan happy. Soul Taker and the Moondogs make a great stable. I think he should have stayed with the Soultaker gimmick.

Debeers twirls his mustache, nods in approval and exits. Meanwhile, poor Sam Smith is stretchered out. Nelson: Ray, that young man may never wrestle again.. Ray cuts him off. Stevens: Hogan! Koloff! That was for you! No mistake about it, that's nothing compared to what Jumbo and Tatsumi are going to do to you in St. Paul! Union Jacks with an unjustified assault. Burke is first up for Taylor. Doll paid dearly for his actions in Wargames. Colon is tuned up and ready for St Clair. I'm sure Disalvo got a big pop off that supplies to Soultaker. Debeers approves of the mean streak Stevens has put in Jumbo & Fujinami. Larry Z cheats his way to a TV Title shot. Scarlet-Left
Double power bomb and a great bit from Ray Stevens! Fujinami and Tsuruta look so strong! Classic dirt bag finish to end the card! kevinmcfl
Looking forward to the big show in Alaska.... some interesting matches already signed. Looking forward to what you do with Konnan. I always liked him. The AWA has a very crowded tag division where everyone seems to think they deserve the gold. I wonder who will wear the belts when the dust clears. What an attack on Doll. It was hard to tell the heels from the babyface in this one. Larry Z with the chair shot on David S. I just can't seem to get enough of this one! spaldoni
AWA TV @ The Hammond Center 11-89 Larry Nelson: Hello everybody and welcome to AWA Major League Wrestling. A lot of our wrestlers are in Alaska preparing for the big night, which includes Hulk Hogan defending the AWA world title against Austin Idol. We'll show you all the highlights next week. Well, we've got a lot in store for tonight's program. The AWA world tag team titles will be on the line as the Fantastics defend against the Rose Cousins. Ok, lets get the show going. 'The Foreman' Spike Huber vs. Grant Winslow Huber airplane spins Winslow, slams him down and follows with an elbow drop for the win. Huber cuts a promo and says some recent losses have set him back some, but that's not going to keep him down. Commercial Break The Renegade Warriors vs. Vinergy w/The Vin Man Warriors start off strong and have Vinergy reeling. The Warriors swing Putski to the ropes and double back drop him. Dukes runs in but gets double chopped down. Vinnie hops on the apron but jumps down quick when the Warriors head over. The Warriors rough up Putski pretty good. Chris tosses Vinnie down and runs into the ring to protect Mark. Vinergy rolls out of the ring. They help Vinnie up and celebrate their victory. Commercial Break Nelson: Fans, next week, Tom Brandi will defend the AWA TV title against this man, Larry Zbyszko. Larry, last week you used a chair on David Sammartino to earn this match and I use the term earn very loosely. Zbyszko: Ok, that's enough out of you Spudhead. You know, Bruno's boy has been nothing but a pesky thorn in my side. How many times do I have to knock some sense into that brat! Now, onto something worthy of my time. I'm talking about the TV title. That young punk Brandi pulls off the fluke of a lifetime and now goes around calling himself a champion. Next week, I'm putting a stop on that. The living legend should be a champion and I'm going to take that punk to Larryland, give him a wrestling lesson and take that title. As for you Nelson, do me a favor and just keep your mouth shut! Nelson rolls his eyes Commercial Break 'Mad Dog' Buzz Sawyer vs. Trent Watkins Sawyer destroys his opponent and easily wins the match with a powerslam. Sawyer then proceeds to bite Watkins head until he bleeds. Officials run in to stop this madness. Commercial Break Nelson: Ok, with me now is Bob Armstrong, Brutus Beefcake, Iceman Parsons, Sweet Brown Sugar, Don Muraco and his manager Superstar Graham. I think we all thought your feud with the All-Stars was over after War Games, but after what happened to Glamour Doll, it looks like another chapter. Armstrong: Let me make something clear, we would've accepted our loss at War Games and moved on if it had been legit. That coward Doll, who wasn't even in the match brought in a steel bar and that steel bar won the match. Our man Sugar was banged up pretty bad with that steel bar. Last week Glamor Doll found out exactly how that felt. All-Stars, this can stop now. It's up to you. Boos as Bill Dundee comes out. He grabs a microphone from the announcer's table. Dundee: Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! You boys started something last week and the All-Stars are going to finish it. Oh no, this isn't over, not by a long shot! Brian Adias, Chicky Starr and Dream Machine come from behind as Dundee joins. Fists start flying! It's pure chaos! Security, officials and prelim wrestlers run out. It's pandemonium! Commercial Break Nelson: My goodness! Ok, it's official, that war is not over! I've received word that the AWA C.O.O. Gerry Morrow will be here next week to address this situation. (deep breath) Switching gears, as you all know, in 2 weeks there will be a special pay per view called No Holds Barred, The Match/The Movie. You will see Hulk Hogan's movie No Holds Barred and then afterwards from the St. Paul Civic Center you will see the match as AWA World Champ Hulk Hogan and Nikita Koloff take on Jumbo Tsuruta and Tatsumi Fujinami with Ray Stevens in their corner. Also, in a special bonus match from St. Paul, Tony St. Clair will wrestle Carlos Colon. A very exciting night indeed. Our world tag team title bout when we come back. Commercial Break AWA World Tag Team Title Bout The Fantastics (C) vs. The Rose Cousins The first few minutes is basic tag wrestling with both teams displaying solid and fluid teamwork. Pat vertical suplexs Fulton as Randy follows with a slingshot splash 1..2..Rogers runs in and breaks it. Pat pushes Rogers, but the Ref guides Pat to his corner. This allows Rogers to dropkick Randy, drag Fulton back to the corner and tag himself in. Rogers takes it to Randy. It's all Rogers but his momentum is stopped when Pat nails him with a knee to the back from the apron. Randy clotheslines Rogers and tags in Pat. Pat executes a backbreaker 1..2..Kick Out. Commercial Break 'The Russian Nightmare' Nikita Koloff vs. David Dalton Nikita hits the Russian Sickle and it's all over! WHAM! From behind, Nikita is attacked by Jumbo Tsuruta and Tatsumi Fujinami with Ray Stevens calling the shots. As Jumbo and Tatsumi pound away on Nikita, Col. Debeers comes strolling out. He's just twirling his mustache and watching. Stevens yells something. Jumbo and Tatsumi hoist Nikita up and double power bomb him down! Nikita is motionless as Jumbo and Tatsumi stand over him. Debeers looks on still twirling his mustache, then calmly walks away.
Autistic Dragon
Huber looks to get back in the groove. Vinergy steals one from the Warriors. Larry can already taste that new gold. You're really going all in on Sawyer's Mad Dog gimmick and I'm here for it. The All-Stars aren't walking away from this war. The Fantastics fight off the Rose Cousins. Stevens' men put a hurting on Nikita ahead of the No Holds Barred event. What's Debeers angle in all this?
spaldoni
AWA @ The Sullivan Arena, Anchorage Alaska 11-2-89 Tommy Jammer defeats Clayton Royce with the California Splash Karachi Vice defeats Two Local Talents- Makhan executes a backbreaker and Gama follows with a Boston Crab to get the submission win. Konnan vs. Moondog Spot w/Moondog Rex and Skandor Akbar Konnan spends most of the match dealing with constant outside interference from both Rex and Akbar. This allows Spot to get in some hard shots and work Konnan over. Konnan does dazzle the fans with his exciting offense, but thanks to more outside issues, Spot regains control. At one point Rex is on the apron. Spot swings Konnan towards Rex, but Konnan reverses it and swings Spot into Rex. A disoriented Spot spins around as Konnan nails him with a lunging clothesline for the win! The Brawney Boys vs. A mystery team Jim and Kaz wait in the ring for their opponents. The announcer introduces 'Latin Desire'. Out walks Al and Lou Perez. They're wearing black vests with red hearts on the back. They seem really full of themselves. Latin Desires confidence fades as the Brawny Boys pinball them around the ring with their brute strength and raw power. Kaz has Lou in a bearhug and wrenches away. Al comes in and hits Kaz with a forearm blast from behind. Jim comes in and sends Al back to the corner with a big right punch. The Ref guides Jim back. This allows Al to nail Kaz with a superkick and Lou follows with a bridging back suplex as the Ref runs over and counts 1..2..3! As Jim runs in, the Perez's quickly exit the ring. El Canek vs. Blackblood w/Skandor Akbar This one's hot as these guys tear into each other. After a few minutes of brawling, Akbar makes a signal to the back. Soultaker runs into the ring and attacks Canek. The Ref signals for the DQ. Blood and Taker put the boots to Canek. The fans cheer as Konnan hits the ring with fists flying. All four men go at it! Here comes the Moondogs! But before they make it to the ring, Karachi Vice is on their tails and the teams start fighting on the outside. It's a wild scene. rainmakerrtv
New champs in the Rock & Rolls! My man Burke got robbed, he is certainly owed a rematch. Karachi Vice, the Moondogs, Taker/Black Blood and Canek/Konnan has the makings of a super fun 4 way feud.
LowBlowPodcast
I could see idol working the crowd into a frenzy for this one… plus having a pose off… then maybe arm wrestle… then they’d have tests of strength… 15 min in they’d start the match lol great stuff
Autistic Dragon
After a couple warm up matches, K-Dawg puts down the Moondog to really get things going. Latin Desire gets the win but also a few bruises to go with it. All of Devastation Inc gets involved in a chaotic brawl. Taylor retains but Burke has got to get a rematch. The entertaining reign of the Olympians finally comes to a close thanks to the power of Rock n Roll! I think Idolmania just sputtered out. As you know there's been a lot of bad blood between de All-Stars and Armstrong, Parsons, Sugar, Beefcake and Muraco. I thought dis would be over at War Games but I guess I thought wrong. Boos as the All-Stars storm out. Idol: Gerry! Gerry! Gerry! Darling, this has gotten way out of control and we've had enough. You saw what they did to Glamour Doll last week! Because of that I couldn't concentrate on my world title bout with that wannabe Austin Idol, Hulk Hogan. Those jerks are sore losers and they went way to far! We want them out of the AWA! The All-Stars are nodding and yelling at Morrow. Morrow: Ok, just relax boys. Here is what I am going to do. There will be a series of one on one matches. However, I want both sides to know, if there is any outside interference, then I will kick them out of de AWA for good. So, here are de match ups. Austin Idol vs. Bob Armstrong. Dream Machine vs. Sweet Brown Sugar. Brian Adias vs. Brutus Beefcake. Chicky Starr vs. Iceman Parsons. Bill Dundee vs. Don Muraco. Dundee: Hold on Gerry! I want my superstar name back! Resnick: Fans, SuperClash returns to the McNichols Arena in Denver Colorado on Friday January 3rd. As you know SuperClash is the AWA's flagship event and this year promises to be better than ever. Music sensation Pat Benatar will kick off the event singing America the Beautiful. As for the action, listen to this. The first match signed will be Paul Orndorff squaring off against Stan Hansen. As you all remember it was Hansen who reinjured Paul's neck at the Happening which led to Paul losing the International title to Terry Taylor just days later. That should be quite the grudge match. More news in the weeks to come. Commercial Break AWA National Tag Champs The RnR Express vs. Walter Sampson and Todd Rooney The fans cheer as RnR hit the double dropkick for the win. RnR hold up the National titles then stare at them for a bit. Nelson: Ricky and Robert, congratulations on winning the National tag titles. I know it must be a great feeling. Robert: It's unbelievable Larry. Winning these titles is a tremendous honor and we have the upmost respect for these titles. But we have an announcement to make. Tell em Ricky. Morton: Like Robert said, we have nothing but respect for these tremendous titles. It was an absolute honor and privilege to win these in Alaska. The thing is, we're gunning to be the very best here in the AWA and that means we have to win the World tag titles. We know the rules and the AWA says champions can't go after other titles unless they relinquish their current titles. So this is very bittersweet for us. We're hereby relinquishing the National titles to go after the world titles. Nelson: Wow, talk about a curveball. Gerry Morrow comes back out. Morrow: Gentlemen, are you absolutely sure you want to do dis? Morton: Yes Gibson: Yes Morrow: Ok den. I do respect your aspirations and you will get dat world title match. Commercial Break AWA TV Title Bout 'Thrilling' Tom Brandi (C) vs. 'The Living Legend' Larry Zbyszko Instead of his usual stalling, Zbyszko attacks Brandi at the bell. Zbyszko tries to roll out of the ring, but Brandi grabs his boots and drags him back in. Brandi stomps down on Zbyszko, picks him up and slams him down. Brandi swings off the ropes and delivers a jumping knee drop 1..2..Kick Out. Brandi picks up Zbyszko and hits a delayed vertical suplex. David Sammartino (with a bandage on his head from that Zbyszko chair shot 2 weeks ago) comes out. He stands at ringside with his arms folded. Zbyszko sees him and starts yelling at him. Commercial Break Footage is shown from last week as Jumbo Tsuruta and Tatsumi Fujinami double powerbomb Nikita Koloff. Pre recorded comments Jumbo and Tatsumi are standing behind Ray Stevens with their arms crossed. Stevens: Hogan! You saw what we did to your partner! You're one week away from being destroyed, beaten and laid down to rest! Hulkamania is over! It's all over! Back live Nelson: Fans, next week you get to watch No Holds Barred the movie followed by the match. Jumbo Tsuruta and Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Nikita Koloff and this man, the AWA world champion, Hulk Hogan! Eye of the Tiger blasts as Hogan comes blaring out in jeans, tank top, headband and the world title around his waist. He enters the ring and gives the fans a thumbs up. Nelson: Hulk, you just heard the comments from Ray Stevens and you saw what Jumbo and Tatsumi did to Nikita. Will Nikita even be able to show next week? Hogan: Let me tell you something Lethal Larry! There's no doubt in my mind that Nikita will be there brother! They gave him all they had and trust me it wasn't nearly enough to stop Nikita Koloff brother. Boos as Col Debeers strolls out, twirling his mustache. Debeers stares up at Hogan. Hogan: Listen up Debeers! I don't know what your problem is, but you better steer clear of Nikita and myself. If you have something to say, get in this ring and say it to my face! Debeers keeps twirling his mustache, then casually turns around and walks away. Hogan: That's what I thought. Now, next week spells the end for Jumbo Tsuruta, Tatsumi Fujinami and that cockroach Ray Stevens! Stevens says Hulkamania is over but I say hell no! Hullkamania is going to run wild in the AWA for a long time brother. It's getting stronger everyday with all the Hulkamaniacs support. Thanks to them, Hulkamania is unstoppable! Autistic Dragon
Disalvo gets to flex a bit. Jammer already making friends I see. Thornton comes through for the Parliament. Hyped for Orndorff vs Hansen. Well the RnR didn't hold those national tag titles for long. David Sammartino ain't no quiter, though Larry surely wishes he were. Hogan is confident Nikita will be there come bell time but Debeers continues to circle the scene.
kevinmcfl
Great show in Alaska. Love the RnR Express with the belts. I also think that Idol might be a little passed his prime but his name is big enough that he would sell tickets anywhere. This was a great main event for Alaska and made some money as expenses weren't as high as many of the wrestlers didn't make the trip. Great booking that seems very realistic. The build towards Superclash is just getting started. That is always one of my favorite shows in Dawn of War. Like the big announcement by Morrow as the Allstars seem to have some tough matches coming up. Great way to hype this up! Hogan and Debeers is great! Debeers was such a good worker and so good at getting heat. This is truly Good vs Evil! I thought Larry Z was coming out with the belt. Good write here! Jimmy Jack Punk
Having been away for a long while, I'm working to get caught up on what everyone has been up to.... Hogan vs. Idol in any era is a fun prospect. While I'm sure it wasn't a technical masterpiece, those two sure know how to get the fans to react! Anytime the Rock & Roll Express is winning tag team gold, I'm a happy camper! I didn't expect to find the "Red Rooster" here in Dawn of War...but here he is! I've got to go back and learn how this happened! Hogan vs. Debeers is one of that fun "what ifs" in real life that we get to watch play out in this world. Looking forward to this. We're definitely the best looking tag team, now all we need is some gold. Commercial Break AWA International Champ 'The Red Rooster' Terry Taylor vs. Sam Smith Taylor spends a lot of time strutting around between wrestling moves. He finishes things off with the flying five arm. Nelson: Ok Terry, in 2 weeks right here on TV, you will be defending your title in a rematch with Leo Burke. Taylor: (Slicks back his ponytail) Really? Again? I beat that guy fair and square in Alaska and he gets a rematch? Nelson: I wouldn't exactly call it fair. That's why Leo is getting a rematch. Taylor: You talk too much Nelson. Look, I run this henhouse and this title proves it. Fine, I'll beat loser Leo again, no problem, because like I've said, I walk it like I talk it. The event, SuperClash 4. Last week we found out that rock sensation Pat Benatar will kick things off with America the Beautiful. We also heard the first match signed between Paul Orndorff and Stan Hansen. As you know every year at SuperClash a tag team battle royal is held with the winners getting a shot at the National tag titles. Well, this year there will be a tag team battle royal. Only this time it will be for the AWA National tag titles. Gerry Morrow made this decision after the Rock n Roll Express relinquished these titles last week. And speaking of the RnR Express, they will get their world tag title shot at SuperClash against the Fantastics. Wow! Talk about a dream match. Ok, see you next week for another update. Nelson: OK Fantastics, in a wild turn of events, the RnR Express relinquished the National titles to go after the world titles. As of now that means they will face you two at SuperClash. What's your thoughts on all this? Fulton: Hey, we have the upmost respect for the Rock n Roll Express and everything they've achieved. However, we think they made a big mistake giving up the National titles. Rogers: That's right. You know, Bobby and I went through hell with the Guerreros to get these titles and we've been taking on all comers since. RnR seem to think they're going to simply take these from us at SuperClash. Think again! Fulton: It's not going to happen. We're looking forward to matching skills but in the end, the Fantastics are going to show the world just who the best team in wrestling is. Autistic Dragon
Sugar gets some Sweet revenge on Dream Machine. Latin Desire would look good with some titles I must admit. Taylor takes his rematch with Burke in stride. Anyone else surprised that the Moondogs were smart enough to steal a win without Akbar? Morrow takes advantage of a conveniently placed battle royal to crown new National Tag champs. The Mighty Yankee may have just taken out a Olympian. The Fantastics are fired up to take on the Express. Muraco's dark side comes out and I don't think Graham likes what he saw.
