The long awaited St. Valentine's Massacre has arrived!

Nice series of first round match ups. I loved that each winning team got to show off their famous finishers.

WOW! The Natural defeats The Magician to become TV champ! These guys had a great series of time limit draws and tonight gave us a great pay off. It's great seeing Fleming get the push he should've got IRL.

The finals are set!

Savage and Borne give us one bloody brawl! Savage has always found a way to get creative and he does it again, to retain.

Even though it was tainted, this is still a major win. Congratulations to Haystacks, Street and Dundee, the new NWA 6 man tag champs!

Outstanding job building this event up. Very well booked.

Can't wait for the NWA's next supercard!

What a card... Savage v Borne for me was the one I'd love to see. I don't think Macho gets enough credit for his ability to go in these types of matches throughout history.

The six-man was a little surprise but I really enjoy this team of Haystacks, Street, and Dundee. It is the right kind of weird that keeps me glued in.

Lastly, a TV title change in the middle of everything... perhaps overshadowed... but hopefully it can rise out of the remains of what was a spectacular show.

The SmarK Rant for NWA Worldwide Wrestling–01.30.88 – Scotts Blog of Doom!

Previously Recorded in Atlanta GA @ Center Stage.

With your host "The Dean of professional wrestling" Gordon Solie

(The opening video plays before filtering to a sweeping shot of the capacity crowd. We then cut to Solie in the booth. He puts over his history of calling action in Atlanta & how pleased he is to be back for the debut of NWA Worldwide. He hypes the announcement from NWA president Jim Crockett Jr regarding the next big mega event before sending us to the ring for the opening contest)

"Lone Star" Brian Adias defeats Tomi Bentley with the Oriental Spike.

Big Daddy Ritter w/Slick defeats Rocky King with the Powerslam.

(VTR -We see NWA president Jim Crockett Jr sitting in a finely decorated office. He first says that he's beyond proud of how "St Valentines Day Massacre" turned out & was particularly pleased at the reviews from experts & fans alike. He & the Board of Directors agreed that it was imperative to maintain the NWA'S momentum, as such it is with great pride that he announces the return of the Jim Crockett Sr Memorial Cup Tag Team Tournament! The event shall take place over two nights on April 9th & 10th. There will be a total of 16 teams involved. The entire first round will be broadcast on the Superstation where the remaining matches on night 2 shall be airing on PAY PER VIEW! To ensure the event is as big as possible, the NWA is in negotiation with other companies to send their top teams for the chance to win the cup & ONE MILLION DOLLARS! Bidding is underway by cities to host either one or both nights. Results will be announced when available. Crockett says that the NWA is determined to end 1987 as the unquestioned leader of professional wrestling & this event will be a centerpiece in making that happen)

Radiance (Doug Somers & Jimmy Del Ray) defeat The Ranger Brothers (Chip & Dale) with a double flapjack on Dale.

Main event

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan defeats Butch Moffat will a football tackle. After the match two men made their way into the ring. Solie identified one as the Angel of Death but had no idea for the second, a man in a black mask & hooded robe. Duggan eyed them wearily as they enter & we get a brief staredown before they collect Moffat & drag him to the back. The first episode of NWA Worldwide ends on an ominous note as Solie speculates what was just witnessed.

Haystacks getting the monster push is awesome. Probably not so awesome for Paco, Chico and Pepe.

S&S Express get in some good TV time.

Looks like it was the Adorable One who was rough and ready tonight.

LOL, Uncle Ivan always had the best excuses.

Always good seeing the Polynesian Prince score a win.

Solid main event as the Outlaws put down the War Party.

Man, it's great to see Gordon back!

Adias could shine in the NWA.

Slick's man Ritter continues to run over opponents.

YES!!!!! The Crockett Cup is coming back!

Wild Bill proves he's the tough one tonight.

Chip and Dale didn't stand a chance against Radiance.

HMMMM, who is this mysterious man stalking Duggan?? Very interesting.

As always, lots of great stuff happening in the NWA!

I am still getting used to Big Daddy Ritter... but he is making some decent waves. He has something left in the tank... maybe not much but something.

I am a big fan of Wild Bill. I met him once. Super dude.

Duggan as a top tier guy in the NWA is an interesting thing. Like what would have happened had he gone after getting fired? Could he have made a splash or was that big Americana movement past its prime?

Looking forward to Crockett Cup... I'd throw you some Windy City guys if you need them!

I don;t recall if this has been explained to you but i took over the NWA (then MACW) from Wahoo's Leg. HE was the first one to have JYD compete as Big Daddy Ritter & i thought it'd be a nice callback. Plus some digging reveals he actually used the name irl.

TV champ Mark Fleming had an outstanding week by retaining over Afi, Yamada and Adias! Props to you for making Fleming a big time player.

Shaska and Conway are back on top! These guys have been a game favorite.

Duggan wins the battle royal but comes up just a bit short against Tully.

Andersons retain against Good & Plenty. LOL, I wonder if they could do that double gordbuster to Candy?

Red Tide almost cause a riot! They might be in big trouble when the Road Warriors come looking for payback.

Radiance scores a huge upset over the Jayhawks. This might have earned them a title shot.

Dusty vs. Arn was always solid.

MegaMan gets his chance to shine but once again Tully comes out on top.

Great week as new US champs are crowned, Fleming is solidified as a true champ, hot feud started between Road Warriors and Red Tide. And Tully continues to have an iron grip on his title.

NWA Power Hour!

Previously Recorded/Airing 2/25/87

On Commentary:Bob Caudle & Tony Schiavone

Ring Announcer:David Crockett

(Instead of the usual opening video we see footage of last weeks show in Richmond. We see Red Tide beating down The Road Warriors, their manager Paul Ellering & even some NWA security before hanging Ellering & the Road Warriors! We then cut to a solemn Caudle & Schiavone at ringside)

The Best And Worst Of NWA Starrcade '85: The Gathering

BC:Wrestling fans welcome to another episode of NWA Power Hour, professional wrestling's most exciting hour. I'm Bob Caudle alongside Tony Schiavone & Tony we just saw the frightening events from our recent show in Richmond Virginia & Tony we've been dealing with the fallout all week.

TS:Indeed we have Bob. The Disciplinary committee had an emergency meeting & emerged with the following result. (Pauses as he retrieves a piece of paper from his pocket) Due to the assault on several members of the NWA staff who are not registered wrestlers as well as the retired Paul Ellering, the group known collectively as The Red Tide will be prohibited from appearing at any sanctioned NWA event until they pay a fine in the amount of FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS! *Huge pop as Schiavone puts away the paper*

BS: There it is fans but it doesn't stop there, when the Red Tide's representatives were presented with this ruling, they responded that their "superiors" had forbidden them from paying any amount to what they termed "the corrupt NWA establishment" so it seems we're at an impasse. In any event, it doesn't appear that the Red Tide will be appearing at any NWA event in the near future. But enough serious business, let's lighten the mood by heading to the ring for our first match.

Match #1

"Super Rookie" Hiroshi Hase defeats Mitch Snow with a submission move the name of which Caudle translates as "Scorpion Death Lock"

(We see a pre-taped Promo from Stan Hansen. He's infuriated by the lack of "real men" in the NWA. Says that the fact that nobody has stepped forward to face him is a disgrace to what's supposed to be a "real man's sport". Says he's decided to take the initiative & that starting this next tour he launching the "Stan Hansen Roadkill Tour" which "ain't stopping till i find a real man ta fight with or I've knocked the head off'a every yellabelly in this stinkin'  company & I don't rightly care which comes first"

Match #3

During the match Adrian Adonis came to ringside, however instead of helping Somers he seemed determined to strike up a conversation with Elizabeth which she was clearly less than enthusiastic about.
