MoS
It's why I think it's a good idea for MJF to put over Wardlow and one more fresh young face before he is transitioned to the title feud. If he is going to win the world title, he needs to have a couple of hot title matches waiting for him, and an MJF-Wardlow rematch for the title would be the perfect beginning. sek69
I'm fairly certain the next thing for Wardlow when he turns (after murdering Spears with a million powerbombs) is beating MJF. Just seems like the best way to cement Wardlow as an important guy and give MJF a challenger if/when he gets a run.
MoS
Yeah, it's classical booking. To-be-NWA-champ puts over a bunch of babyfaces in various territories so he has ready-made hot feuds when he gets the belt. I'm sure TK gets it too. Loss
It seems like a criticism when WWE does that is that they give their new champions no momentum.

WWE gets criticism because instead of having the soon to be champ lose to a few key people, they tend to job them to everyone so the new champ looks like a geek right out of the box. Then once they are champs, they beat them constantly in non title matches and then seem surprised when no one gives a shit about titles. (obviously this doesn't apply to made guys like Roman)
NintendoLogic
One of the foundational notions of AEW's booking is the idea of wins and losses mattering, which is why every wrestler's W-L record is displayed before each match. Having someone lose a bunch of high-profile matches prior to getting a title shot would make a mockery of that notion. Really though, how about we let the company's world champion and hottest act manage a few successful title defenses before we start fantasy booking ways to get the belt off him? MoS
No one is saying he gets the title shot immediately after those losses. It's why he is built back up for the title, this time away from those faces. There's no need to rush taking the title off Hangman.
