World Championship Wrestling - Jim Ross & Tony Schiavone We get things going with the announcement that Jesse Ventura is off to make a movie and will be taking some time away from WCW! Tony Schiavone and Jim Ross will be on the call for WCW for the coming weeks. Tonight on WCW - We’ll see Sid Vicious in action, plus Sting will wrestle here on WCW… plus we’ll hear from Lex Luger and the WCW tag team champions - The Rockers! Here we go! As a carryover from earlier… the Samoan Swat Team comes out as a trio with Gary Hart. Tony talks about Tama debuting earlier on Power Hour. These three do some serious damage and look good in the process. Gary Hart seems to have his Trio now… what could these guys have on their minds or on his mind? Big Josh gets a nice win… he is starting to get some momentum. Nikita Koloff is in action and he looks as mean as ever. Ivan says that things with Nikita and Sting are far, far from over! The Freebirds are in tag team action - DDP puts over how they’re the number one contenders for the WCW tag titles and they deserve a shot! We hear from the Rockers who are nursing some injuries from the cage match… they accept the idea of the Freebirds and also acknowledge the team of the Samoans… that is until Teddy Long comes out and he’s got Ron Simmons and Butch Reed with him. These two monsters look the Rockers right in the eyes… they don’t say a thing… but Teddy Long just smiles and leads the men out to the back! Sid Vicious comes out and just kills some poor schmuck. Once again… the stretcher is out here and Sid sends the guy flying into the back! He is wild eyed and crazy… Ricky Steamboat gets a nice singles win… word has it he may next in line for a WCW title shot? Harley Race comes out and he’s got a new body guard with him. He says this is the man who will protect him and the WCW world champion… Kama (Charles Wright). He is a supreme fighting machine. Lex Luger says he doesn’t plan to waste his time with the likes of Sting… he only faces top tier contenders. Sting isn’t even in the top ten. Luger will only face challengers who he deems worth and Sting isn’t worthy of his time… his friendship… or the WCW TITLE! Television Champion Scott Hall gets a nice win. He continues to show why he’s one of the best wrestlers on television. Who will be next in line to try this Diamond in the rough? We finally see the return of Sting… on WCW… in action and man is it something special. He takes on Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker who gives him a great match. Sting hits all the big moves… the Stinger Splash and then the Scorpion for the submission victory! Sting comes out and he is got a lot of fire right now. He is putting over the WCW world Title… he says that the battle with Nikita was won but the War is far from over… it won’t just be one and done he is coming to put Nikita away… but the first thing on his mind is Lex Luger! He says he spoke with Flyin Brian earlier today… he neck was hurting but he’s going to be back here next week. He and Sting plan to team up. Sting says that Luger just couldn’t finish the job and he’s going to be the one to make sure Luger gets every single thing coming to him. Sting says hes pumped to be back in WCW… he’s pumped to be back in the ring… and he’s… he’s… who is that?!?! {The camera pans over…OMG…that Curt Hennig! What in the world is he doing here?!?!?} Quote
Autistic Dragon Posted July 21 Report Posted July 21 Teddy Long has brought Doom to WCW. Hart adds another Samoan to the ranks. Sid is on a rampage. What an ending with the arrival of Curt Hennig. Quote
spaldoni Posted July 26 Report Posted July 26 YES! Teddy Long and Doom have arrived! Hart's trio of Samoans are going to wreak havoc DDP wants a tag title shot for the Freebirds but it looks like Long and Doom also have their sights set on gold. The Rockers have a lot on their plate. Sid's getting the monster push. Better get more stretchers ready I would love to see Steamboat and Luger go at it Speaking of Luger, Race hires him some muscle and Luger says he's calling the shots now. BTW, great role for Charles Wright here. I'm loving Hall's TV title run. Sting is fired up more than ever. Great to have him back. He wants Luger but Nikita still has unfinished business. The plot thickens. Wait! Curt Hennig is here!?!? Quote
LowBlowPodcast Posted July 26 Author Report Posted July 26 July 26th WCW Power Hour - Tony Schiavone & Eric Bischoff kick things off by mentioning that ominous debut at the end of last week’s WCW but say they have been advised not to address that situation. Speaking of another situation - Paul E sent them a postcard as he’s on vacation… since he doesn’t manage Muta anymore and he won the big gamble… well he took a long trip! Who knows when we’ll see him again!?? We’ve got 6-weeks till the next Clash of the Champions and already word is heating up on who will take on the World Champion, Lex Luger. Some fans are calling for Sting, but Luger says he isn’t in the running. We’ll check the top 10 this week and see if Sting can crack the scene. We’ve also got the US tag team champions in action this morning… let’s go to the ring! In action - we’ve got Crush, Doom w/ Teddy Long, the Nasty Boys, Tatanka, Johnny Ace, and Nikita Koloff killed some dude w/ Ivan by his side. They put over Sting trying to get lucky against Nikita one time and hiding for his life! WCW Top 10 WCW Champion - Lex Luger Nikita Koloff - US Champion Scott Hall - TV Champion Ricky Steamboat The Great Muta Crush Big Josh Tatanka Z-Man Flyin Brian Sid Vicious Eric and Tony put over the top ten and wonder if Sting will be able to crack the top ten next week. He’ll be in action tonight on WCW, along with Sid Vicious who spells trouble for anyone in his path. It is now time for our main event… let’s head to the ring! Davey Boy & Owen defend the US tag titles against Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker & Lt. James Earl Wright. Davey and Owen look great as a team and we hear Eric and Tony putting them over in a big spot… with them and the Rockers at the top… we’ve got Doom, the Freebirds, the Samoans, and the Nasties all making chase at the titles! World Championship Wrestling - Jim Ross & Tony Schiavone continue to put over two big things in the beginning… first they put over Paul E being on a vacation and who knows if and when he’ll ever be back. Then we hear Jim Ross say that last week we saw someone show up who is not a member of WCW… he is not a contracted wrestler… plain and simple! We’ve got a big night of action… Sid is here… Sting is here… the World Champion Lex Luger is here… plus JJ Dillion is said to make a big announcement regarding the Clash of the Champions! Let’s hit the ring! The Freebirds with DDP get a good win and they talk about business being all but done with the Nasty Boys… this brings out Knobbs and Sags who say that things are far from over. In fact…they’re challenging the Birds next week, right here on WCW! DDP signs it before Hayes and Garvin have a chance to speak… here we go! Big Josh & El Gigante get a fun tag team win. This is WCW’s odd couple but somehow they manage. The big moment happens at the end when Sid Vicious walks out and he’s being held back by officials for challenging El Gigante! Sid Vicious is then in action and he drops some jabroni on his neck. The stretcher goes to another level tonight when Sid chokeslams the dude over the top rope onto the stretcher! He wheels him off to the abyss… can this guy be stopped? Wait a second… the stretcher gets pushed back out… by Adam Bomb?!? Bomb walks out… he doesn’t quite have the goods but he looks up to Sid and Sid pushes him out of the way. That’s the man who took his spot in the top ten! Adam Bomb does okay in his squash. Ross and Tony put him over as a real up and comer but they wonder if Sid could derail him if they come face to face again! We see the WCW tag team champions, the Rockers in action and they are solid tonight. We see Davey Boy and Owen come out… word is they may be next in line for a title shot. We see the Rockers finish up and get the win and then shake hands with Owen and Davey… but when they walk up the aisle, Doom is standing there with Teddy Long. Teddy looks down at his watch, taps in it and looks at the teams and smiles! We get a special segment with JJ Dillon and Jim Ross putting over the Clash of the Champions on September the 5th. At that show we’ll see WCW Champion, Lex Luger in action against the number one contender. The WCW Championship Committee has been working hard on figuring out the top contender…so in two weeks it will be decided… when Ricky the Dragon Steamboat takes on WCW Television Champion, Scott Hall with the winner going on to face Luger at the Clash! The crowd seems pleased but start chanting for Sting… wait just a moment… that’s CURT HENNIG… he is here again and he’s being ushered back by officials but JJ tells them to let him over… JJ asks him what he’s doing here… Curt Hennig: Listen JJ… I am not here to screw around… this is WCW… World Championship Wrestling… well… I don’t see any championship material from what I’ve been watching. You see a lot of people call me the Perfect Wrestler… so good in fact that I could step in that ring right now and win the world title. I have amassed a career of perfection and greatness everywhere I go… and quite frankly I am surprised people actually want to see these guys… who’s Scott Hall? Ricky Steamboat… has been… Sting… the biggest what if in wrestling… and Lex Luger… I’ve seen better bodies on scarecrows in a field. Listen… I am not here to start anything… because, quite frankly, there is no one here who could lace my boots… but I am saying this… I am going to give you this open contract… one match only… I am gonna be free September 5th… if you’ve got someone with some guts to step into the ring with me, I will show you what perfection is all about right in the middle of that ring. Hennig hands the paper to JJ and walks away… the crowd is stirring after this one… who could JJ get to take on this guy? We’re back with the television champion, Scott Hall who says that he doesn’t give a hoot about rankings or anything else. He says that the TV title is a stepping stone and one that he will never relinquish, that is until he gets his hands on the World Title. If he’s gotta break Ricky Steamboat’s neck to do it… then so be it! Steamboat… the Diamond Studd is going to put all your fire out in two weeks! And as for Curt Hennig… he’s not even worth my breath Chico! Tatanka gets a good win here tonight and he’s back in the hunt for things. We know he’s had his shots in the past at the US title but perhaps a shot at the TV title could be in his future. Ricky Steamboat comes out and says he has received thousands of letters thanking him for getting rid of Paul E Dangerously! He also says he wants to talk with Muta… he knows they were fierce competitors at the Bash but he thinks that Muta is one of the top talents in the world and he wants to get him back in the ring and work with him and not against him! He says that Scott Hall is a top tier contender and their match in two weeks is going to be historic. He plans to give everything he’s got and get back to the top of the WCW mountain like he was before. Lastly, he doesn’t have time to spend on Curt Hennig… he’s not a WCW competitor and therefore not even in his rearview mirror. Crush looks great in a win tonight… but we hear from Gary Hart who is talking about how Crush says he is from the Island… but he’s going to meet the Island Boys from Samoa if he keeps running his mouth! We find out Crush takes on Fatu next week on the Power Hour. Lex Luger comes out with Harley Race and Kama. Luger is in prime condition, and he is all about letting the fans know that he agrees with the WCW Championship Committee. A number one contender should be decided and he (Lex) will be ringside to watch that match in full and scout his next opponent. He plans to make an example of Scott Hall or Ricky Steamboat as to why he’s the one true champion in professional wrestling and he will not only defeat them but humiliate them in the process! As for Sting, he isn’t even worth mentioning since he isn’t in the top 10… he isn’t someone to be cared about or thought about. Sting will never be in the league of Lex Luger. Now… this outsider… Curt Hennig, let me be the first to address you… Your opinion is meaningless in the eyes of the world champion and Lex Luger will send Kama to shut that perfect little mouth so I don’t have to soil my own hands. Sting is in our main event tonight and he defeats “The Russian Assassin,” whomever that is… but either way Sting with a big win and he works the crowd. He then gets on the microphone to talk about how he is happy with his win at the Bash but now he’s 100% focused on Luger and the world title. That is until Nikita comes out with Ivan and they get right in Sting’s face. Nikita says that Sting survived by the skin of his teeth, and there’s no way he would be able to do it again! Sting looks Nikita right in the face and says anytime, anywhere, anymatch! Nikita backs off… Jim Ross puts it over in a huge way… what’s next for these guys?!? Quote
spaldoni Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 I love the storyline of Sting's climb to a world title shot and trying to break the top ten. It's all about the journey The tag division is absolutely stacked! Sid's getting the monster push. Adam Bomb is a good big man to help catapult Sid to the next level Steamboat and Hall get to battle it out for a world title shot Hennig makes some bold comments. He's definitely not here to make friends. Luger is more confident than ever. Sting's getting some serious momentum going, but Nikita is looking to put an abrupt stop to that Quote

Skinner has got quite the look and hits a gatorbreaker… a twisting DDT/shake,rattle, and roll combo! WCW Top 10 WCW Champion - Lex Luger Scott Hall - TV Champion Ricky Steamboat Nikita Koloff - US Champion The Great Muta Big Josh Crush Tatanka Z-Man Sid Vicious Flyin Brian Crush takes on Fatu in our main event. Crush looks great and really puts together a good match with Fatu. Gary Hart has got his hands in everything during the match but it doesn’t go as planned for Crush as we see Samu and Tonga come out and they beat him down something awful. They tie him in the ropes and take turns beating the hell out him… it’s a 3 on 1 beatdown as Tony and Eric put this through the roof. World Championship Wrestling - Jim Ross & Tony Schiavone bring us in to our big show… we’ll see a number of top 10 wrestlers in action tonight… plus the Freebirds take on the Nasty Boys! We see another postcard from Paul E who seems to be enjoying the desert… Ross hopes he gets lost. We’ll hear from Sting tonight… plus WCW Champion, Lex Luger will be here… right now! Lex Luger and Harley Race bring out Kama for his “debut” match in which he beats the hell out of some poor kid and then hits the heart punch to finish it off. Kama looks unstoppable here and Luger has some premiere backup if needed. We then get a Luger and Race promo putting over the big number one contender match next week with Steamboat and Scott Hall. Luger says he will be paying close attention but isn’t worried in the slightest. The fans are cheering on Sting and Luger says that the fans can chant his name all they want but it won’t help him get a shot at the WCW title! Ricky Steamboat wins a nice singles match… big hype for the number one contender match next week. Sid Vicious kills a pair of turds… he stacks them on the stretcher and he’s ready to push them to the back but Adam Bomb stops the stretcher! Bomb tips them over and then he comes face to face with Sid… he points to the ring! Sid smiles and shakes his head… these two guys are going to clash! Big Josh comes out with his buddy El Gigante and gets a nice win as he continues to improve up the top 10! Davey Boy and Owen have a good showcase and once again prove their a top tier team in WCW… the Rockers cut a promo after and say they’ve signed the contract to face them at the Clash! It will be for the WCW World Tag Team Championship and not a title for title match. Doom has a tag team match and Teddy Long is hot under the collar. He goes right to Jim Ross and wants to know who is running this ship and why Doom can’t get a title shot. Ross says they just showed up here two weeks ago… Long says if that’s the case then the next two weeks will spell DOOM for everyone in their path and they will be the only team left standing at the Clash! Flyin Brian is back on WCW after the issues with Lex Luger. He says he’s been keeping an eye on things here in WCW and he wants to address this situation with Curt Hennig. Brian says he feels 100% and if JJ Dillon can’t find someone to come in and face him at the Clash - Flyin Brian would love to put his name in the ring! Scott Hall also gets a nice win tonight and Ross and Schiavone are putting over the big number one contender match next week. Sting gets a nice win over Savio Vega and the fans are cheering for him. He and Jim Ross discuss how he hopes to get back in the ring again and again to rise the ranks of the top 10… that brings out Ivan Koloff with Nikita… Sting says he’s sick and tired of the back and forth… if Nikita wants some… come get some… NEXT WEEK! JR and Tony continue to pump up our big main event with the Nasty Boys taking on the Freebirds until we see Curt Hennig come out from the fans… he’s wondering where JJ Dillon is… in a pretty simple segment… JJ walks out with some security and he tells Hennig that there isn’t one man who has accepted the challenge… but a WHOLE LOCKER ROOM OF PEOPLE! Hennig smiles and says that he isn’t afraid… and that he’d… that’s where JJ cuts him off… if Hennig is still interested… he’ll have a better idea of who will be facing him… more next week. The Nasty Boys vs Freebirds - starts as a match - ends in a double DQ with brawling and Garvin getting laid out with a chair! These four men went balls to the wall in the opening minutes of the match and even DDP gets rocked by the Nasty Boys! The crowd seems 100% for the Nasty Boys here and they work the crowd before handling the Birds in this no-contest. We hear about next week’s big matches…. Sid takes on Adam Bomb… plus the number one contender match with Scott Hall and Ricky the Dragon Steamboat! Quote
Autistic Dragon Posted Tuesday at 09:45 PM Report Posted Tuesday at 09:45 PM Little late but I made it. Sid vs Adam will be explosive!. Kama shows his stuff as Luger's muscle. Looks like Sting might not be down with Nikita yet. Hennig just got here and the whole locker room is already after him. Quote
spaldoni Posted yesterday at 02:36 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:36 AM Ace and Windham, I can see that working out Skinner debuts. Big Josh could be a fun feud for him. Just something about a lumberjack and Alligator hunter going at it seems appealing Crush better get some back up if he wants payback Luger's got some muscle backing him up We'll see if Bomb can give Sid a true test. The inevitable stare down will be quite the visual The Rockers vs. Owen and Davey will be a show stealer The tag teams better take Long's threat seriously Pillman puts his name out there for Hennig. I'm all for that match up Hall and Steamboat will be very interesting. Both men have been on a hot streak Sting and Nikita! One more time! Man, Hennig is really confident Birds and Nasties keep the heat going on their wild feud Quote
LowBlowPodcast Posted 6 hours ago Author Report Posted 6 hours ago August 9th WCW Power Hour - Tony Schiavone & Eric Bischoff bring us in with a special picture from Paul E who is on the beach in the Bahamas. What a guy! This week they are pumping up the Clash in a month along with the number one contender match tonight with Scott Hall and Ricky Steamboat… plus… we have it confirmed… Sting will take on Nikita Koloff tonight! JJ Dillon is expected to address Curt Hennig. Here on the Power Hour… Flyin Brian and Z-Man are back in action plus we’ll see Crush taking on Samu… let’s head to the ring! We have some fun squashes on Power Hour this morning… we’ve got Big Josh and El Gigante in a nice tag team win… the Freebirds get a win but there is some issue with DDP… Tonga and Fatu are in tag team action and get a nice win… we see Tatanka in action along with Johnny Ace getting a nice win! We then see Flyin Brian and the Z-Man in tag team action. They look great and appear to be 100%! We hear from both men after the match… Pillman says he is sick and tired of this Perfect Wrestler… more like a Perfect Punk! If he shows his face tonight… then Pillman will be there to smack his mouth shut! Z-Man says he is back and feels great… right now he’s focused on WCW…but he has Sid Vicious on the back of his mind. He may have injured his body but he can’t do anything to his head which is 100% for WCW and he’ll do anything he can to defend its honor! WCW Top 10 WCW Champion - Lex Luger Scott Hall - TV Champion Ricky Steamboat Nikita Koloff - US Champion Big Josh Crush Tatanka Z-Man Sid Vicious Flyin Brian Sting Crush vs Samu w/ Gary Hart - is our main event and they come to blows before the bell even rings. Crush is fighting for his life here; especially when Samu and Tonga come out. Crush fights them off… right and left and even Gary Hart gets rocked! Samu comes with a kick but Crush ducks and he nuts himself on the top rope! Crush then picks him up for a big back body drop and gets the cover for the 3-count! Tonga and Fatu pounce! Crush wins the match but he is destroyed in the process. Gary Hart and his men leave him laying in the middle of the ring… World Championship Wrestling - Jim Ross & Tony Schiavone bring us in for what might be the biggest edition of WCW to date. We’ve got three huge matches… plus numerous others… and we have word JJ Dillon is here and he will address Curt Hennig… fans it is time to get things going, let’s head to the ring! Adam Bomb comes out to a good ovation but Sid comes out and he has got the crowd in the palm of his hand. He works the fans but then he gets in the ring and he and Adam Bomb have a “match.” Well it is a slugfest and no-sell-a-thon! Neither man is giving the other any kind of a break but then Sid breaks through and takes control. Sid with a couple of huge bombs to his back and Adam is breaking down and Sid comes with a running knee right to his skull and the crowd isn’t sure what’s going on! Sid pulls him around and picks him up for a POWERBOMB! Sid looks out to the crowd… he picks up Adam Bomb again… and POWER FN BOMB! Sid drops to a knee and covers him for the 1….2….3!! Sid Vicious is without a doubt the most dangerous man in WCW right now! The Rockers are in tag team action and show off some good skills. Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith cut a promo as the US tag champs and say they’re excited to challenge the Rockers at the Clash. Teddy Long leads out Doom who kills two punks. Teddy Long continues to make the sign for the gold saying it is just a matter of time! In more of an impromptu brawl/match… Sting and Nikita Koloff go about 8-minutes and hammer one another down to the delight of the crowd! The fans are solidly behind Sting and cheer every move he makes. As noted, not too much of a match, but these two put something together but it is more of the final moments that cause some questions. Nikita gets control and stops Sting’s momentum and Ivan is screaming up a storm outside the ring and pushing Nikita… then Ivan hands him the chain but Nikita doesn’t want it? He looks back at him and says no but Ivan is pushing the chain towards him. Sting then comes from behind and dropkicks Nikita - into Ivan - knocking him out with the chain - then rolling up Nikita for a 3-count! The fans go berserk for this one and Sting gets out of the ring as fast as he can. What a win for the Stinger and this has to make him move up the top 10! Flyin Brian and the Z-Man have a tag team match against the State Patrol and the crowd is solidly behind them. Zenk and Brian have good chemistry and a great look. We then get to a pretty big moment when JJ Dillon comes out and he says he knows Curt Hennig is here… he’d like him to come to the ring. Hennig walks through the crowd, batting away debris and popcorn along the way. He hops the rail and joins JJ. We get an intense promo from JJ who says he is tired of this talk from Hennig… he’s frustrated about having to go through all the wrestlers in the back who want to take a shot at him… Hennig cuts him off to say he is not afraid of any one or two men back there… that brings out Brian Pillman who is being held back a little by Zenk. Pillman gets into the ring and says… Pillman: Listen up Hennig… I think everyone here is sick and tired of you running your mouth! You want to put out a challenge… well I am right here and I’ve got WCW behind my back and I am ready to take you on… right here… right now! Hennig: Listen Fly Boy… I am not in the mood to wrestle you tonight or your buddy the Z-Man! In fact… I don’t do anything that someone else says… I do things when I wnat, how I want, where I want… and you aren’t worth the time… Pillman: There you are… running your mouth again… just keeps running… someone needs to shut it… Hennig: Is that going to be you Fly Boy? Pillman smirks… looks at the crowd, and then he smacks the living hell out of Hennig and the crowd pops hard! Hennig takes the smack, backs up, and goes out of the ring. He says nothing… he jumps over the rail and walks up the aisle through the fans. JJ Dillon smiles and shakes Brian’s hand… but Pillman says this isn’t over! We get to see WCW’s odd couple, Big Josh and El Gigante in tag team action tonight as well… Gigante is getting better in the ring… not good by any means… Ross and Schiavone wonder if Sid will get his wish to see him one on one soon? In our main event… Ricky Steamboat and Scott Hall go one-on-one with the winner going on to the Clash to face Lex Luger. Luger has a table set up at ringside with champagne and caviar. Race is seated next to him. Kama is behind him as they watch on. Hall and Steamboat work a very good television match for 15-minutes. Steamboat brings out every ounce of shine that Hall has got and the fans are eating it up. Scott Hall is able to show off his size and strength with some big lumbering shots but also work some heel moves in there to keep the crowd going. Steamboat has the best shine in the business and fights back with the passion of 1,000 fires. Luger is watching on intently… but then starts to get out of his seat as we get to the finish. Scott Hall has worked the neck and back ferociously throughout the contest and he goes for the Diamond Death Drop… he backs him up into the corner but Steamboat kicks off the ropes - flips over Hall - rolls him up for the 3-count out of nowhere! The crowd is shocked at how fast it happens but Steamboat has won and he is the new number one contender. Luger doesn’t look happy about this at all! Hall is arguing with the referee and this is an opening for Kama to charge the ring and go after Ricky! Luger comes too and he starts to put the boots to him something awful. This draws out Sting to the crowd’s delight and he makes the save with a couple of huge shots on Kama before he exits the ring! Luger makes his move without getting touched as he and Kama and Race all exit stage left. Sting picks up Steamboat and raises his hand. Scott Hall is still pissed outside the ring. JR and Tony put this through the roof… we’ve got our championship match set up for the Clash! Quote
