*** The Steiners are still in Japan and this week we see a video tape of them successfully defend the USWA World Tag Team Titles against another “top” Japanese team in Tokyo.   We also get a promo about how they are still searching for the Road Warriors as they can’t wait to show the Road Warriors who the best team in the World is.  Remember, the Steiners took offense to the Road Warriors claiming that they were the best team and that the Steiners weren’t in their class.  This led to the Steiners rushing over to Japan to take it to Animal and Hawk.  So far, their search has not been very fruitful.

Opener

Sweet Brown Sugar defeats “The Professor” Bill Ash with the missile dropkick.  This was just a bone thrown to SBW as he is going to be doing mostly jobs in the USWA but Jarrett loves his in ring work!

2-1 Handicap Match

Michael Wallstreet with Ms. Alexandria York defeats Pez Whatley and Sweet Brown Sugar in a handicap match as Wallstreet connected with the Airplane Spin/Samoan Drop combo.  This match came about this week on TV as Ms. York and her computer said that their wasn’t a man in the USWA that could beat him so in order to challenge Wallstreet, he needed to face two men at the same time.  Usually handicap matches are saved for the huge monster heels but here it was to just show how deadly Wallstreet’s skills combined with computer “analytics” truly are.

Match #3

The Dirty White Boys and The Southern Boys ended in a No Contest.  The match was about 8 minutes in and was some great back and forth action when suddenly Animal and Hawk, The Road Warriors hit the ring and destroyed everything in sight. Both Dirty White Boys and both Southern Boys fell victim to huge clotheslines, powerslams and giant splashes with Dirty White Boy #2 taking the worst of it when he got nailed by the Doomsday Device!  Animal and Hawk grabbed the house microphone and were screaming about “where are the Steiners… where are they!”

Match #4

POW & Jeff Jarrett defeats “Hotstuff” Eddie Gilbert & Honky Tonk Man with Jimmy Hart and Missy Hyatt as POW nailed HTM with a top rope double leg drop.  POW seemed more energetic then normal and was able to get his biggest win to date.  Maybe it was working with JJ, but POW was on fire!

USWA World TV Title Match

“Stunning” Steve Austin © with Medusa defeats “The Tennessee Stud” Ron Fuller with the Nightstalker with the Stun Gun.  The nearly 7’0, 300-pound beast, serving as Fuller’s bodyguard came into the ring to attack Austin but it was like Austin had eyes in the back of his head as he turned around just in time and grabbed the Nightstalker below the waist and dropped him neck first across the top rope.  Fuller saw his chance and rushed at Austin but again, Austin turned just in time and connected with another Stun Gun.

This match came about as Austin was defending his World TV Title in Smoky Mountain Wrestling against Kabuki when Fuller and the Nightstalker interrupted his match as Fuller claimed that he was the rightful owner of the TV title but Jerry Jarrett refused to give him his rightful title shot all because he wouldn’t wrestle on TV as he was too pretty for the fans at home.  Steve Austin thought this was a joke and wondered how anyone who refused to wrestle on TV should be the TV champion.  Fuller was confused as Austin’s confusing and challenged Austin to the match at the Midsouth Coliseum.

USWA Southern Tag Team Match

Tommy “Wildfire” Rich & JYD defeat Greg “The Hammer” Valentine & Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart” © with Jimmy Hart by DQ as Jimmy Hart pulled down the top rope causing JYD to fly over the top for the automatic DQ.  JYD took a rather awkward bump and seemed to land on his head and was down and out.  The champions saw this as their chance to attack Wildfire but The Rock n Roll Express were quick to make the save.  The fans were fuming as the ring announcer said that as a result of the DQ, the Hammer and the Anvil retain their titles.

#1 Contenders Match:

Jerry “The King” Lawler vs Randy “Macho Man” Savage with Miss. Elizabeth

This match came about from a rather serious disagreement between Lawler and Savage on last week’s TV show.  Lawler seemed to be off the mindset that he was in line for another shot at Bossman and the USWA World Title even though he has lost the last two matches to Bossman in rather clean fashion.  Savage believed that he was next in line because he was the USWA Southern Heavyweight Champion which he believed put him automatically in line for a world title shot.  Savage added that he has also beaten Bossman while Lawler hasn’t come close!  Lawler scoffed at Savage claiming to beat Bossman as it was only by DQ and after he cowardly threw Miss. Elizabeth in harms way.

As for the match, this was easily the match of the night as these two went toe to toe for nearly 25 minutes before a rather strange ending saw Bossman come to ringside and hit Jerry Lawler in the back of the head while referee Paul Neighbors was down.  Lawler had crashed into Neighbors as Savage had ducked under a Lawler shoulder block.  Savage, saw this as his opportunity, rushed to the top rope and leaped off with the flying elbow and covered the King.  Instead of making the count, a groggy Paul Neighbors called for the bell…

Nobody knew what to expect …

Ring Announcer:  Your winner by disqualification due to outside interference… Jerry “The King” Lawler.

Savage is fuming as he has no relationship with Bossman and didn’t want the help.

Bossman seemed to have a smile on his face as he went to attack Lawler but from out of nowhere…

WHAM…. Savage is all over Bossman!

This brawl will take wrestlers from the back to eventually break up… all of this happening as Lawler simply rolled out of the ring as he is obviously a bit groggy!

Man, this was just a really fun show start to finish. Sweet Brown Sugar kicked things off with a nice little win to get the crowd going, and the Wallstreet handicap deal was a cool way to show off the York Foundation stuff. The Road Warriors crashing the Southern Boys vs. Dirty White Boys match was crazy and just makes everyone want that big clash with the Steiners even more. POW teaming with Jarrett felt like his biggest moment yet—he really came alive in that one. Austin vs. Fuller was sharp too, with Austin looking like the man as he outsmarted both Fuller and the Nightstalker. The Southern Tag Title match had classic Memphis shenanigans with Jimmy Hart and then the Rock n Rolls running out to save the day. And then that main event? Lawler and Savage tore it up, Bossman stirred the pot, and it all ended in chaos that sets up a bunch of different stories. Just a super entertaining night that gave the fans plenty to talk about.
