Looks like someone told Hunter about the CMLL Universal title (every year they have a tournament with all their champions)

The Crown Jewel belt is butt ugly and a bigger eyesore than the AEW World Title.

It’s almost like there’s some sort of bizarre competition or one-upmanship going on. It’s a race to see which Pro Wrestling organization will be the first to design a Championship Title Belt which is so big it begins directly under the chin and doesn’t stop until it touches the tips of the boots.

It’s funny to see him and DDP sitting so close considering their history.

Wasn't their beef over Kimberly? Probably not an issue after she and DDP got a divorce.

I haven’t cared about a second of these matches post HiaC. Nothing is grabbing me.

I feel mostly the same, but I got into Rhea vs. Liv. Enough sports-entertainment shenanigans there to keep me entertained. :)

I didn't think the HIAC match was particularly good, either. Lot of real phony looking shit, especially with the wrenches. Drew was doing all the heavy lifting and the only thing to really get a reaction from me was the terrible looking bump on the steps Drew took for the Claymore miss on the steps. So stupid it's been a nearly year long angle over a fucking friendship bracelet complete with the blow off ending with a bag of beads instead of tacks or glass in a HIAC and it was treated completely seriously.

Finally watched the Hell in a Cell match after the West Virginia and the Alabama games.   Usually when a HITC match is about 40 minutes that is not a good sign and this is definitely not the case here.  It was a 40-minute match that felt like 20 at least to me.   Extremely physical and violent like an old school one was.   Easily the best one in maybe the last 5 to 10 years.

The beads in the bag was a great touch although smart mark in me would have loved to see pieces of glass coming out of the bag.

I figure that Rock will want nothing to do with the War Games match.  I figure that we will get Rock vs Reigns at WM.  Unfortunately, I also figure it is going to be for the title  as Rock probably wins at Royal Rumble

So apparently Kevin Owens attacked Cody in the parking lot after the show when they were arguing about something.

I would genuinely love to see Bret/Goldberg team up to help Sami beat Gunther and bury the hatchet, but the saddest part of Bret's heat with Goldberg is that he very clearly concussed himself on the ring post figure four well before the kick, but he seems to not remember it. You know, on account of scrambling his brain before the kick.

To me, Punk vs. McIntyre III is the Danielson vs. Ospreay of WWE: A deeply flawed match that is mystifyingly getting intense, almost unanimous MOTYC praise. It was pretty violent and they retained the necessary vitriol but, otherwise, it was shockingly plodding with large empty chunks and no real structure or direction at all. The Berlin Strap bout was exponentially better and the highlight of the feud, having struck an optimal balance between a hateful gimmick brawl and a smartly constructed match.

The main event tag was alright but pretty much what you'd expect. Super-babyface and WWE champion Cody Rhodes getting outcheered by Roman Reigns in Atlanta was something else though and tells you that virtually anything can be achieved.

Punk/Drew should have been at least five minutes shorter, but it was still the best HIAC match I've ever seen. It was also another data point for my contention that Punk > Danielson. I predict I will be vindicated by history on that question like I was on Bret Hart vs. Ric Flair. By the way, for those keeping track, Punk hitting Drew with the toolbox was reminiscent of Bret hitting Austin with the ring bell at WM13.

Woah now. I get disliking Shawn, but that first Hell in a Cell is an all-timer.

And I'd argue that the Mankind/Taker one is equally awesome, even if what it spawned could be considered a net negative. That match was more than just stunts and is an incredibly engrossing and legitimately shocking and tremendous presentation.

Punk/Drew was a very good match, one that I'd recommend and would consider a potential MOTY for WWE, and probably among the top 5 Hell in a Cell matches ever. But Shawn/Taker and Foley/Taker are probably in the top 25-50 matches in company history. I don't think Punk/Drew got there.
