C.S. Posted August 21 Posted August 21 I found out from a Reddit thread, which I won't link to here, because the comments are...not nice. This is apparently his obit: https://rip.ie/death-notice/trevor-woodhouse-dublin-clondalkin-639725 I just checked rovert's PWO profile, and he hasn't posted here since 2023. I won't pretend I was close with him or anything like that, but I'm sure we had occasional interactions in threads. R.I.P. and my condolences to anyone here who was friendly with rovert.
Big Pete Posted August 21 Posted August 21 He was certainly a polarizing figure in the community to put it lightly. Personally I didn't mind following him Twitter. Call it a guilty pleasure but the guy was always online that he covered just about everything that was going on in Pro Wrestling it was an easy way to stay informed. The guy clearly enjoyed trolling and while I apparantly missed a lot of his more unhinged moments you knew what to expect. RIP rovert.

donsem43 Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I'll miss someone spending, presumably, way too much of their free time trying to be the Hedda Hopper of pro wrestling on the internet. I did laugh when he lifted a couple of jokes I made on here for his twitter feed.

I didn't want to chime in since if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. However, back in the day that happened here. I remember him getting banned a couple of times.

sek69 Posted August 22 Posted August 22 rovert was quite a character. He clearly had connections, especially in women's wrestling, but he also had a knack for rubbing folks the wrong way. I would see him on several different forums and he'd invariably find himself getting banned on all of them. He must have had literally dozens of sock accounts on the old WON forums as him and Bryan were constantly antagonizing each other.
Ricky Jackson Posted August 22 Posted August 22 If you consider obsessive trolling on message boards and Twitter as the absolute peak of human life achievement, then indeed, he was not unlike a god

It's like people talking about Jerry Lewis except Jerry was talented and a genius. So that " If you can't say anything nice" thing? Well, I changed my mind. I feel for any family or loved ones affected by his loss. Truly. But besides that? I'm not going to pretend he was some important voice. He was a dude who had a few contacts in the business and was an asshole as an identity. And this "Influential Leader of the IWC" shit is as ludicrous as it was years ago when he tried to lecture me right here at PWO over some joke I made at his expense. He wasn't mad. He told me that I needed to be more responsible since I, Johnny Sorrow, was an important voice in the IWC. I don't remember what I responded with but it was probably something like " Go eat a bag of dicks." RIP
