Man oh man I LOVED this one. Such an amazing performance from Fuchi trying to survive against a higher ranked opponent by destroying his leg. His early control segment ruled, he was just viciously slamming Misawa's leg onto the announce table. The legwork set Fuchi up for both his future control segments giving him a good base to work on by stretching Misawa and also provided with him a way to easily and believably transition back into offence. Misawa's selling was sublime, just a perfect example of how selling doesn't have to black or white (and in most cases when such selling is used it takes away from the match more than anything), he limped and slowed down but still went for all his big stuff regardless like you would in a fight and recognized the pain both by not being able to follow up a great looking frog splash with a cover and by modifying his flip lariat (usually he would use a dashing start, here he just kind of threw himself at Fuchi). We get a few nearfalls that didn't use "big" moves but were extremely well set up and the crowd bought into them before a cool and (for All Japan) unique finish. A lot of stars. -

Sprint which was largely carried by Meiko's amazing kicks, arm attacks and cradles. I did like Ishii's neck snapping moves too, but most of the stealworthy counters came from Meiko. This had that „joshi pace“ so not a lot of extended selling, but even baby Meiko has really intense presence and there was some good learned psychology and build to the Death Valley Bomb. Man these little GAEA matches had so much cool shit.

Violent 5 minute eruption. If it weren't for one or two moments of no selling from Kato, this would've been really great. Lots of violent bombs are dropped, stiff lariats, kicks and knees to the face, but what was most important was that Kato was basically a pesky little fly to Chigusa and does working hard to evade her and topple her. The Sleeper Hold is put over, and Kato looks great because she doesn't just get squished immerdiately. After the match Chigusa beats Kato further and bloodies Satomura's mouth (CURSE PASSED!!!), berating them both.

This is a typical, but fun, 'Big vs. Small' match. Io works it as a mix of '90 Manami Toyota and '00 Rey Mysterio, she use a lot of her big high-spots for offense but also does a lot of juking to keep her bigger opponent off balance. Like the tag title match from the previous show, Viper's offense looks squishy again with Io doing some big bumping and selling to really put it over. Nothing too special about this match, but still highly entertaining. ***1/2

This is a tag match were the woman that gets the winning fall becomes the number one contender to Sonoko Kato's OZ singles title. With that stipulation, one would assume that this match would probably turn into a messy but that doesn't happen here. Actually, all four women incorporate the stip into the story of the match. There are some of the typical 'feuding partners' moments, but they don't overwhelm the action. Everyone here turns in a really good performance allowing the match to be much better than expected. ***3/4 -
