  1. I don't normally read spoilers, but I wonder how excited you are now. I don't get why Vince has a problem with Christian. Too ugly and average looking. Vince apparently once said Christain has the single worst headshot he has ever seen. I'm a woman and I think Christian looks fine. Why do wrestlers need to look good anyways? I thought people watched it to be entertained, not to ogle over their bodies. That's what pornography is for.

  3. I saw that on Wrestling Forums. It was sad seeing people actually cheer on Cole for defying the EVUL PC LIBRULS. Come to think of it, since homphobia and other forms of bigotry are common in the United States, wouldn't such acts be reinforcing the current view of the majority and therefore be the real political correctness?
  4. I hope not. Every time HHH has main evented a Wrestlemania (except for WM 20) the match was boring. I'm not looking forward to Taker vs. HHH to begin with, but I can't believe that the WWE would do something that shortsighted.
  5. Eh, I'm just enjoying seeing Rock again. I actually want to see WM this year. I hope Miz wins, and I don't even like him that much.
  6. He pretty much said that he could suck his dick. Not that it matters, because all that did was give Rock more ammunition. I don't why Cena keeps doing that. It makes no sense, especially for a face. He even does it in actual interviews.
  7. Out of morbid curiosity, where can I hear this and how was his book? I'm thinking of buying along with Jericho's and Animal's if I have enough cash.
  8. I don't think WWE does a great job making stars most of the time. They have great marketing and arguably the widest audience though. That being said, I think Rock was just trolling the Internet with those comments and it's going to work like it always does.
  9. Because the WWE is run by people who have no class or empathy. I'm trying not to Mcmahon bash here but they look down on wrestlers apparently despite the fact that without their workers they would never have had the success that they've had but you can say that about many businesses small and large. It's disgusting how they claim they can't provide health insurance because their workers are "independent contractors" and yet they maintain ridiculous control over their lives.
  10. I know going by personal observations isn't enough to judge, but if they have about as many viewers as they did ten years ago why does the WWE and wrestling as a whole seem less relevant today? I rarely see many people wearing wrestling t-shirts in public these days. Most people who aren't wrestling fans don't bring up Cena like they used to do for the Rock. No one even knows what TNA is. Even when WCW was going down the toilet in 2000 if you mentioned their name most people had an idea who they were.
  11. I'll give the WWE credit. It worked so well that whenever anyone brings up Cena getting booed these days, people just write it off as one of the following types of fans: 1) IWC types who don't matter 2) bitter Attitude Era marks 3) ignorant Cena haters Not to say that those groups don't exist but whenever I see anyone point that out on a forum like Wrestling Forums, the usual WWE defenders come out and say that having Cena get booed is a good thing because it shows how controversial he is. They also seem to forget that he was getting booed in 2004 at times and think it started because of the first ONS. Also I hate how everyone assumes that Cena fans are only women or children or that Cena haters are only middle-aged men who don't bath very often. But to get back on topic, I thought the LWO could have been a great stable if it hadn't been for Eddie's accident and the usual BS that WCW went through at the time. It could have been like the Nation of Domination except done right. The premise of all the Latino wrestlers joining together to stand up for themselves was very appealing to me. They just needed a better name.
  12. It wasn't their decision - it was Spike TV's. Actually, it seems TNA decided to leave on their own. http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/publish...e10011712.shtml What I don't understand is why they didn't do market research before deciding to move to Mondays. I like TNA despite its flaws and it's a shame that when they had some momentum on 1/4 that they let it go to waste by putting on bad shows. Then, when they started to get their act together it was too late. Maybe they'll learn something from this and hopefully keep trying.
  13. They're probably waiting until he leaves for good, which will either be when Fozzy really catches or when his second book gets released. Can someone confirm whether this is true? http://groups.google.com/group/rec.sport.p...2484c29f91927d2 I know HHH mentioned in a interview with quite a lot of pride that they planned the iron man match behind Rock's back. Then, when Rock found out a few weeks before it was supposed to happen he was pissed.
  14. The thing with Triple H is that I think his heel run from 99 up till the middle of 2000 worked so well because unlike the Rock or Mankind as heels, you had no reason to feel any sympathy for Triple H. He wasn't a badass like Austin, a smartass like the Rock, or a guy fighting for his boss's approval like Mankind. The first three were their real life personalities turned up by 10, but the fourth felt like he was actually an asshole in real life. Every time they interviewed this guy out of character, he came off like such a petty and bitter man and at the time I could never understand way. What I find funny is when I've talked to wrestling fans who were watching during that period, they felt the same why but mention that online and most think you're being a hater or someone who reads dirtsheets too much. I don't know about everyone else, but I didn't even know what a dirtsheet was back when I was really watching the WWF and you could tell just by watching the program who the company cared about and who they didn't regardless of actual talent. I mean, when it's gotten to the point that you've beaten over half the company, that's when it gets really ridiculous and excessive.
  15. Though it gets exaggerated these days, making your announcers tell the viewers that Mankind was winning the title that night certainly didn't help. I think the Fingerpoke of Doom wouldn't have been so bad if it had ended with Goldberg getting his revenge but of course they couldn't do that. It was fucking irritating to watch the company slide back by about two years when that happened.
  16. Does anyone know what happened to the proposed WWF cartoon? I saw a rumor about there being plans for one around 2000. Also, it would be interesting to find out why they decided to do the WM XII and Judgement Day 2000 Iron Man matches.
  17. When was it confirmed that they altered the poll results for Cyber Sunday? I remember Dave claiming they were legitimate. They were? I'm thinking of the one where allegedly people voted for a Benoit match as one of the best matches they'd seen or something like that. If I'm wrong then I apologize.
  18. Damn. Just damn. I wonder if they altered the poll results like they did for Cyber Sunday a few years back.
  19. SMH. May he R.I.P.
  20. He didn't seem to regret any of it and he never mentioned how he used to play Punch-Out with his wife. Even Stone Cold hinted at it in his book. I'll give him credit for openly saying he wasn't a good person.
  21. Wow, Bret's forgotten the part of the story where Vince hired incompetent stunt coordinators because the professionals were too expensive and refused to do the stunt exactly as he wanted due to its inherent danger. Well, just lost some respect for Bret Hart right there.
  22. I could see them doing a reverse Akeem gimmick. There's that one guy who looks like John Cena but in blackface. I'm sure they would probably use him. Or they could do commercials bashing Obama like they did for the MLB when they went on strike. Looking back, now their stuff about how there's no off-season in those commercials makes more sense then it did when I first saw them. I didn't know that independent contractors could not set up their own union. Why is that the case?
  23. I saw a bit of it online years ago and I thought "Damn, these guys are crazy!" So much that when I saw ECW it just felt tame to me. I'd be surprised if you saw any FMW "online" before you saw ECW on TNA "once in a blue moon". John I don't have any reason to lie to you.
  24. I saw a bit of it online years ago and I thought "Damn, these guys are crazy!" So much that when I saw ECW it just felt tame to me.
  25. I wasn't around for much of ECW. I only saw the show on TNN once in a blue moon back in 1999, but I liked it though I didn't know why such an awesome program (for a teenager) was on at 11 PM on a Friday night. I never noticed the shabby production values though I wondered if ECW was the American version of FMW. To me it seemed toned down but I still watched it. When they brought back ECW in 2006 I started watching again but drifted away as it seemed to become more like Raw and Smackdown. If it wasn't for Christian and Shelton Benjamin I don't think I would have started watching it again. So I was hanging around on another forum I go to and I saw a interesting blog by a guy who grew up watching ECW. I thought it was pretty interesting and wanted to share it here. http://www.camelclutchblog.com/e-c-done/ Sorry about the title. I didn't know this forum didn't support subtitles. Wait, it worked after all. Maybe it's just my browser.
