  1. He should get a Coke tattoo and make his gimmick be Bizzaro Punk.
  2. Just skip looking at every other chapter to avoid the spoilers. I don't know if that's harder to do on a Roku or PS3 but it's pretty simple on my PC.

I don't really blame Batista for not wanting to lose another high profile match, especially since he's probably going to lose at Extreme Rules. If he loses to Bryan now, what's left? A tepid babyface turn?
  4. The date on this show is 11/8/86. Gordon hypes up today's show which includes a 2 ring Triple Chance Battle Royal that I'm excited for. The first match on the show is Jerry Stubbs & Alabama Champion The Dirty White Boy squashing some dudes. Stubbs wins with a Scorpion Deathlock. Gordon informs us that he must have picked that up on his recent "tour of the Orient" which is the exotic way of saying "trip to Japan" I suppose. Gordon tells us there is speculation about whether The Bullet is Bob Armstrong, and just because he looks, walks, moves and talks like Bob Armstrong does not mean that he neccesarily is. We get a music video of The Bullet pulling up to Bob Armstrong's house and Armstrong's sons coming out to meet him and then them all working out together in Bob's gym. Then Bullet leaves and dances in front of the car before it goes. This is a top 5 moment of what I've seen so far. I don't care how many times I see it I still love seeing him dancing in the Bullet mask. Back from a commercial and Steve Armstrong & Adrian Street are at the podium with Gordon Solie. Stubbs, DWB & Rip Rogers are in the ring. Rogers brags about being the new Southeastern Champion. White Boy says he heard "Scott Armstrong" wanted to face him for the Alabama Title so he is accepting his challenge. Street talks about Rogers taking the title from him and how "we just saw what happened." But we didn't so I don't really know what went down except that Linda got beat up again and Street lost the belt. The next match is U.S. Junior Champ Tom Pritchard against masked jobber The Hawk. Pritchard wins with the Enziguiri which Gordon calls "the crossover boot" Kevin Sullivan talks about the lies of Bob Armstrong and Ron Fuller wrestling under masks after they both are supposed to be gone from the area. Sullivan says if Gordon is so pure and true then answer the question is Ron Fuller the Tennessee Stud? Gordon says they look, sound and wrestle the same but until the mask comes off he is the Tennessee Stud. Sullivan says evil lies in everyone, especially those who lie and deceive. Sullivan threatens Solie that accidents can happen to anyone who is on the side of the Fullers in this war. Gordon talks about an upcoming card in Columbus and Sullivan cuts a promo saying nothing ever happens in Columbus, Mississippi but something is about to happen because The Headhunters are going to get rid of The Stud & The Bullet. Now it's time for the Triple Chance Two Ring Battle Royal! The Nightmares, The New Guinea Headhunters, Kevin Sullivan, Tom Pritchard, Steve Armstrong, Rip Rogers, Jerry Stubbs, DWB, Kris Von Colt, The King of Wrasslin Roy Lee Welch and the 3 jobbers from the earlier squash matches are the competitors. The last 2 guys in each ring will face each other in a tag team match and the winning team wins $100,000 split between them. Rogers immediately goes outside the ring and hides. Eventually The Nightmares end up in ring 2 with Jerry Stubbs and The Dirty White Boy and they steal all the attention. Then we go to commercial. They seem to edit about half the battle royal out during the commercial because when we come back there's a ton of people gone and Steve Armstrong is bleeding like crazy. From the best that I can tell, the guys left now are Roy Lee Welch, Tom Pritchard, Kevin Sullivan, Steve Armstrong, Kris Von Colt, The Headhunters, one of the jobbers from the tag match, and Rip Rogers. Ring 1 is just The Headhunters, Kevin Sullivan & Steve Armstrong so Armstrong is getting his ass kicked. At the end, Pritchard eliminates Rip Rogers & then Roy Lee Welch but then gets pulled over the top rope by Welch so no one is left in ring 2. Sullivan gets knocked over into ring 2 by The Headhunters and then The Headhunters toss Steve Armstrong into ring 2. So this has all led to Kevin Sullivan & Steve Armstrong vs. The New Guinea Headhunters in a tag match? Armstrong is already a bloody mess but he does his best to fight back and almost gets the 3 off a sunset flip. Once Armstrong makes it to the corner Sullivan slaps him around and then Sullivan holds his arms up in the air and his hands are just covered in Steve Armstrong's blood. Gross. The Headhunters toy with Armstrong while Sullivan taunts the crowd and Steve Armstrong manages to roll one of the Headhunters up and win! Steve Armstrong gets beat down after the match and Sullivan leaves with both the $50,000 checks. Steve Armstrong gets help after the match but he manages to walk out on his own power. The show ends with Gordon hyping up the night after Thanksgiving show in Columbus, Mississippi. The Tennessee Stud says he is going to have some New Guinea hens for his Thanksgiving dinner and The Nightmares talk their match with The Sheik and Kris Von Colt. Kevin Sullivan sends us out by talking about winning the $100,000 by himself, he went through the whole battle royal and then won the tag match alone so he deserves all the money alone. He and Gordon argue over whether it's 50,000 or 100 and Sullivan says next week he has a proposal about how he can have the whole $100,000.
  5. Butch Reed doesn't really count because he never really did anything outside of Mid-South. He worked a little in the AWA and St.Louis but all his success was for Watts. After he left Mid-South it's not exactly like he was in demand. He ended up wrestling in Kansas City for 6 months before he and Slick got picked up from KC to go to WWF. Reed didn't do anything in his WWF run, but it's not like he was going to be having some awesome run in JCP or anywhere else. UWF was dying by the time he'd have been fresh again in that territory.
  6. As a guy who stopped watching UFC because there is just too much to keep up with, and too many boring fights to sift through to blindly try and find the good fights unspoiled, I really like the "What you need to see" list idea. That also gives all the people who watch the B-Shows, lucha, or whatever a place to pimp stuff that other people don't regularly follow.
  7. Brock/Sting would be such a waste of Brock. I feel like Sting coming in is not some big deal and should be treated more like the Ricky Steamboat return than anything else. Give him a chance to surprise you and maybe do a little bit more but don't build it as the biggest thing in the world.
  8. Well he and Mike Sanders DID sue WWE to try to get the independent contractor status changed. They probably didn't like that too much, even if I think it did eventually get dismissed due to statute of limitations.

I was really surprised by how over Barrett was on Raw against Sheamus. I haven't been keeping up with him at all but I watched that match because people were pimping it and it was really good. I think Sheamus would be the star they wanted him to be as a heel right now, and Barrett could probably do a really easy switch of the Bad News character to a babyface who just the trashes heels on the mic instead of the babyfaces and the crowd. Think substituting Bad News Barrett for The Rock in the infamous "Big Show got a haircut" promo. I just got done watching this week's Main Event and it was a really nice one hour show. Del Rio vs. Big E was better than I expected for two guys who do nothing for me, although I did find myself agreeing with BNB's promo about Big E having no personality and bordering on being boring. El Torito vs. Hornswoggle was a fun little match, and WWE usually does a good job of making some of these goofy Hornswoggle matches seem special, like his stuff with "Lil" Boogeyman. El Torito seems like he could do a lot more if they gave him the chance. Titus vs Sheamus was a really nice match, although I hated the finish and thought it was completely telegraphed. Sheamus is a beast, the Titus match is really physical and follows the really hard hitting match with Barrett from the night before. I didn't think much of Ryback vs. Jimmy Uso though.
  10. They really didn't do a very good job at explaining it, but the idea was that Austin had become so paranoid and obsessed about being WWE Champion that he was willing to side with Vince McMahon, Triple H, ANYONE that was willing to help him get and keep the title. Why HHH would want to help him do that just so he can play second fiddle IC Champ and tag partner, I have no idea.
  11. I just don't think someone who hasn't watched wrestling since WCW died is going to really get all that excited about the Network. I could be wrong, but people just move on. They already did move on. Over a decade ago.
  12. I just don't buy the idea that there is a significant amount of people who are going to shell out $60 to see a Sting match. The mythical "lapsed WCW fan" hasn't watched wrestling since 2001. I don't think he's coming back.
  13. Since we're talking about Hogan and chairshot safety, I am pretty sure that is the reason Hogan never wanted to work with Rick Rude. They have one taped match together, I believe from Boston Garden, and there's a spot in there where Hogan is clearly leaving his back open for Rude to hit him with a chair and Rude goes all the way around him to hit him in the head with it. Since Hogan wasn't really open for it Rude had to kind of turn the chair and ended up hitting Hogan in the head with the side of the chair and not the seat.
  14. If there were all these people willing to pay money to Sting, WCW would still be in business. He drew one big buyrate 17 years ago.

Agree with everything you just wrote about why Tensai failed. Blaming the crowd for Tensai failing is bullshit, especially if you fall into the camp that thinks there is any legitimate reason to chant "Goldberg" at Ryback.
  16. I get that part I just meant comparing them as workers.

Gonna need to check out Titus vs Sheamus, I've liked Titus' stuff on the B-Shows since becoming a heel even if he's completely, hopelessly lost in the shuffle.
  18. Kane is WAY better than Abyss. I mean, that's really not even a fair comparison even if you DO think Kane sucks.
  19. Oh I forgot, and no one else has mentioned this, but more than likely this is one last big PPV match for Kane since he's setting up to retire and start selling insurance.

To me, this is like them watching the E&C-Hardys match from No Mercy '99 and their takeaway being "WOW WE NEED TO PUT THE BELT ON EDGE BY NEXT SUMMER, HE'D BE A GREAT FACE AGAINST HUNTER". The reality is so far removed from your example it's not even funny. Roman has been strongly positioned on television for over a year and largely protected. Edge in late 1999 was a nobody on the roster. You're not about to see Roman win the IC title on a house show and lose it the next day as a last minute gimmick to enhance the storyline arc of a PPV... I detailed this in a post which you didn't see, I guess-- it's not about the booking, it's that he has only had NINE singles matches, counting TV and house shows, in a year and a half on the main roster. Only one of which wasn't a squash and had an actual finish. What is the evidence that he is going to be a main event-level singles guy (and if he's booked with Hunter at SummerSlam, that is exactly what they want him to be) by August? That's the problem. To me I don't really care that he hasn't been in singles matches on TV and PPV. The problem for me is that they've been viewing him as the next top star but haven't even been giving him singles matches on house shows. I only just now have seen that he's doing some house show singles matches with Randy Orton.

Go ahead and just throw him with Kofi Kingston so I can read some really good rants about their matches.

I need to come up with a word to beat everyone over the head with when they shit on midgets matches like the Divas Defenders like to throw around the word misogynist. If there's a place for poorly choreographed, ultra light wrestling matches that make you feel embarrassed to watch it on every single Raw and Smackdown, surely there is room for a midget comedy match every now and then.

It was a funny joke but how many times you gonna empty quote it? I still feel like midgets get a lot of undue hate simply because "AWW MAN MIDGETS!?" but they're usually fun matches.
  24. I've been poking at ECW 93 because I'm expecting to like the Gilbert/Funk stuff but I like to watch whole shows and it's tough to slog through some of the Glen Osbourne types so I haven't gotten past their first interactions on TV.
  25. Now that I'm fantasy booking it, they could have put a ton of heat on Sheamus by having him come out and challenge Bryan for a match on Raw, acknowledging the death of Bryan's dad, playing up that Sheamus is supposed to be his friend but he's challenging him at such an emotional time and then doing the beatdown because Bryan didn't want to wrestle that night.
