NWA International Title Tournament, Night 2 July 24, 2015, from the PNE Garden Auditorium in Vancouver QUARTERFINALS: Chris Adams vs. Bruce Hart A strong technical showcase opens up the card. Both men showcase their mat wrestling, submission skills and limb work before Adams ultimately gets the win with a rolling cradle. WIN: Chris Adams in 10:46 QUARTERFINALS: Magnum TA vs. Stan Hansen The up-and-comer Magnum has a huge fan following and spends most of the match working Hansen's left arm, trying to neutralize the lariat. It works. During the heat, Hansen clobbers Magnum with the lariat but clutches his arm in pain after the fact, giving Magnum a few extra seconds and he actually kicks out! Magnum tries to mount a comeback, but falters and a second lariat puts him down for the count. WIN: Stan Hansen in 13:33 QUARTERFINALS: Honkytonk Man receives a bye after the time limit draw between Dynamite Kid and Skip Young QUARTERFINALS: Al Tomko vs. Ox Baker The head honcho of All-Star and Baker don't take long before the action spills out of the ring. Carl Fergie also gets involved, and Tomko ducks an attack by Fergie, who clobbers Baker and sends him into the ringpost. Tomko gets back into the ring, beating the count, and moves on! WIN: Al Tomko by countout in 4:22 After the match, Baker and Fergie jump Tomko from behind. They hold him up and Baker delivers his devastating heart punch. Tomko gets the stretcher treatment and the show quickly goes to intermission, INTERMISSION SEMIFINALS: Chris Adams vs. Stan Hansen Hansen once again splits open the bandaged wound on Adams' head, and Gentleman Chris spends the majority of the match bleeding all over the canvas. The speed and technical skill of Adams makes an interesting matchup with the power of Hansen, who spends the heat just clobbering Adams but finds himself unable to put him away, or deliver his lariat as Adams makes several nimble evasions of it. Adams' comeback has a ton of fire, and Hansen bumps somewhat surprisingly given the size disparity, but Hansen cuts him off with a brutal slam. Hansen goes for his lariat, Adams ducks it and ensnares Hansen in a crucifix pin. Hansen kicks wildly but can't escape! WIN: Chris Adams in 19:03 SEMIFINALS: Honkytonk Man receives a bye because Al Tomko is not able to compete Diamond Timothy Flowers, Little Tokyo & Lord Littlebrook vs. Skip Young, Cowboy Lang & Tiger Jackson A six-man tag before the championship finals. More comedy spots, and Flowers actually is on the other end of the shine with all three faces getting some offense in at his expense. Jackson takes the heat, with Little Tokyo trying to maul his rival after getting pinned last night. Jackson makes the hot tag to Lang, who's able to bump both his midget rivals, and a running dropkick by Young knocks Flowers out for the count. A double team move by Lang and Jackson lays out Littlebrook for the pin. WIN: Young, Lang & Jackson in 13:41 FINALS: Chris Adams vs. Honkytonk Man (w/ Jimmy Hart) Adams comes to the ring still blood-stained and freshly bandaged, whereas Honkytonk has received a bye through the first two rounds. Adams puts up a game fight, but three grueling matches in just 24 hours is too much to overcome, and Honkytonk finishes his exhausted opponent with the swinging neckbreaker. Despite benefiting from two byes and this being his only match since the first round, Honkytonk celebrates like Rocky Balboa, right down to grabbing the house mic and screaming, "Jimmy, baby! WE DID IT!" The Memphis Mafia all come out and hoist Honkytonk onto their shoulders like the coach of a championship football team to a chorus of boos. WIN: Honkytonk Man in 12:24 to become the new NWA International Champion

NWA International Title Tournament, Night 1 July 23, 2015, from the PNE Garden Auditorium in Vancouver All first round matches have a 20-minute time limit, with the winners advancing to tomorrow night. Honkytonk Man already has a spot in the quarterfinals, defeating Al Madril on TV that afternoon. FIRST ROUND: Magnum TA vs. Sheepherder Luke (w/ Lord Jonathan Boyd) Jonathan Boyd came out and immediately cut a promo to rile up the Vancouver crowd, and create a huge ovation for Magnum. The two have a solid back-and-forth match, and Jonathan Boyd tries to toss his crutch into the ring for Luke to use. The referee wrestles it away from Luke, who turns and feeds right into the belly-to-belly suplex for the three count,. WIN: Magnum TA in 11:58 FIRST ROUND: Sonny King vs. Ox Baker (w/ Carl Fergie) This match is an out-and-out brawl from the get-go. Sonny King enjoys a couple minutes of shine before Ox takes over and just decimates the fan favorite, finishing him off with the heart punch. As Ox and Fergie celebrate, Sonny King is stretchered out of the arena... likely never to be seen again. WIN: Ox Baker in 7:17 FIRST ROUND: Bruce Hart vs. Diamond Timothy Flowers (w/ Jimmy Hart) An entertaining technical-based match with Hart focusing on mat wrestling. Flowers bumps and feeds well and uses the occasional hair pull or eye poke to hold his own in the exchanges of chain wrestling. Flowers works Hart's leg during the heat, but as he tries for a figure four, Bruce Hart pulls him down into an inside cradle for the pin. WIN: Bruce Hart in 12:43 FIRST ROUND: Dynamite Kid vs. Skip Young Match of the night. A handshake of respect between these two men but the match quickly becomes heated between two men who were tag partners earlier in the day. Dynamite uses his physically intense wrestling style to take control of the match, and Skip Young takes a real beating during the heat but keeps kicking out. Then "Sweet Brown Sugar" mounts a huge comeback, with Dynamite bumping like a madman. Skip delivers his patented standing dropkick but only gets a two count. Dynamite regains the advantage with a back suplex and delivers his diving headbutt... but Skip moves. A second standing dropkick catches Dynamite as he feeds back up, but before Skip can make the cover the bell rings. The time limit has expired. Skip Young offers Dynamite another handshake after the match, but this time the Englishman refuses and walks out. WIN: Time Limit Draw in 20:00 (neither man advances) INTERMISSION Little Tokyo & Lord Littlebrook vs. Cowboy Lang & Tiger Jackson The minis take center stage coming out of intermission. Mostly comedy spots, and the match ends on a miscommunication spot between the heels with all four men in the ring. Tokyo and Littlebrook go to Irish whip Lang and Jackson into one another, but Lang reverses Tokyo and fires him at Jackson, who catches Tokyo in a spinning cradle and brings him down to the mat in a pinning predicament to defeat the NWA Midgets Champion! WIN: Cowboy Lang & Tiger Jackson in 8:28 FIRST ROUND: Al Tomko vs. Keith Hart Two of the duller wrestlers on the roster have the type of match you'd expect. Tomko wins by submission after a full nelson WIN: Al Tomko in 9:19 FIRST ROUND: Steve Williams vs. Stan Hansen Just a brutal hard-hitting match. Hansen really lays it in against the relative greenhorn Williams, but he fires back with some solid shots of his own. Dr. Death shows his power, rocking Hansen with some big slams and suplexes during his comeback, but Hansen kicks out and eventually finishes Dr. Death with a lariat. WIN: Stan Hansen in 14:14 FIRST ROUND: Chris Adams vs. Kendo Nagasaki (w/ Jimmy Hart) Adams comes out still wearing a bandage on his forehead from getting busted open by the Moondogs' steel chair on last week's TV episode. Nagasaki spends the heat of the match targeting the cut, removing the bandage and splitting open Adams again, but the crowd support sparks a rally by the Brit. Jimmy Hart distracts the referee and Honkytonk Man comes out and tosses Nagasaki a set of nunchukus, and he drills Adams in the side of the head. But it takes Hart a few extra seconds to get past the official. That allows Adams to kick out at two! The crowd goes NUTS, and Nagasaki can't believe it! WIN: Chris Adams @ 18:03

Quickie results from 7/23/83 TV, the go-home show that afternoon before the tournament that starts that night MATCH #1 Dynamite Kid & Skip Young defeat Dan Denton & Grizzly Evans After the match, Dynamite challenges Skip Young to face him that night in the opening round of the International Title Tournament. Sheepherder Luke, Diamond Timothy Flowers & Ox Baker all cut promos about the tournament and why they're going to win.Jonathan Boyd does all the talking for Luke. MATCH #2 Kendo Nagasaki destroys Joey Cagle in a squash match. Jimmy Hart escorts Kendo to ringside for this contest. After the break, details on the tag team tournament, which takes place August 1, British Columbia Day in Victoria, BC. Fujiwara and Maeda from New Japan have entered, as have The Invaders from WWC. Sonny King comes out and interrupts, bringing up Ox Baker's brutal beatdown and heart punch on Verne Siebert last week. Sonny promises to end Ox's reign of terror before it begins, in the first round of the title tournament tonight. This brings out Ox's running buddy Carl Fergie, who challenges Sonny King to a match. MATCH #3 Sonny King defeats Carl Fergie in a solid 10 minute back and forth match Pre-taped promos by Chris Adams, Magnum TA and Al Tomko about the tournament. Stan Hansen is in action next! MATCH #4 Stan Hansen destroys Mike Allen in about two minutes, finishing him with the lariat. The build to Flair vs Terry Funk at the 1989 Bash was one of my favorites. I'll echo the rise of Batista as a main eventer. And, while the payoff was terrible, honorable mention to Sting vs Hogan in WCW since they built it for almost 18 months

July 16, 1983 TV The show opens with a podium, and both the NWA All-Star Wrestling and Pacific Northwest Wrestling banners hanging in the background. Al Tomko comes out and stands at the podium, and announces the merger between All-Star and PNW, which takes effect as of August 1. From there, we cut to the studio, and Ed Karl and Paul Ellering. They hype the NWA International Heavyweight Title Tournament, and promise to announce more of the field. Karl also pushes this week's main event: Chris Adams, Magnum TA and Al Tomko in a six-man tag against Timothy Flowers and the Moondogs. MATCH #1 Hart Brothers vs. Mr. Ebony & Dan Denton A good back-and-forth tag match, as the Harts are showing the effects of the multiple assaults they've received from the Memphis Mafia in recent weeks. After Ebony and Denton isolate Keith Hart for the heat, Bruce Hart makes a nice comeback after receiving the hot tag. Ebony and Denton double team Bruce to cut off his comeback, but a running clothesline by Ebony gets ducked by Bruce, who clobbers Denton out of the ring. Bruce Hart schoolboys Ebony for the three count! WIN: Hart Brothers @ 10:22 **SEGMENT 2** Ed Karl and Ellering discuss the title tournament, a two-night event from Vancouver's PNE Garden Auditorium taking place July 23-24. We then cut to pre-taped promos from Bruce and Keith Hart, Al Madril and Magnum TA discussing their participation in the tournament. During Madril's promo, he challenges Honkytonk Man to face him in the first round. MATCH #2 Ox Baker vs. Verne Siebert Carl Fergie escorts Ox to the ring to a loud chorus of boos. Baker dominates Siebert, pulling up up on a two count multiple times before putting him away with the devastating heart punch. WIN: Ox Baker in 4:17 **SEGMENT 3** Back from the break to footage of the “Maple Leaf minis” in action. They'll be wrestling as a special attraction during the two-night tournament. Ed Karl also announces that Honkytonk Man has accepted Madril's challenge, and that first-round tournament match will be the main event of next week's program that afternoon, before the tournament begins in earnest that night. As the footage ends, Sheepherder Luke and Jonathan Boyd storm the set. Luke is acting more unhinged than usual, so Boyd does all the talking and enters Luke in the tournament. MATCH #3 Sheepherder Luke vs. Joey Cagle Luke brutalizes poor Joey, finishing him with a backbreaker. WIN: Sheepherder Luke in 3:33 **SEGMENT 4** Paul Ellering announces Kendo Nagasaki is coming from Stampede to enter the title tournament, and we cut to a video of him in action. MATCH #4 Dr. Death Steve Williams vs. Grizzly Evans Evans makes a better account of himself than he did the past two weeks against Magnum TA, but Steve Williams' power and athleticism makes the difference and he wins with the powerslam. WIN: Steve Williams in 6:02 After the match we go to a pretaped promo from Stan Hansen. He promises to run right through every other wrestler in the tournament, and take the International Title back to Texas. **SEGMENT 5** MAIN EVENT Chris Adams, Al Tomko & Magnum TA vs. Timothy Flowers & Moondogs Not so much a match as a wild brawl that goes all over the studio for nearly 10 minutes before order is restored and a more traditional tag match begins. Once it does, Adams, Tomko and Magnum take control on poor Flowers, and before too long the Moondogs are back in the ring. Honkytonk Man comes out from the back onto the apron to distract the referee, as a dark-haired, skinny man slides a chair into the ring to Moondog Spot. That man is JIMMY HART! Spot blasts Adams, Tomko and Magnum with the chair and the referee is forced to call for the bell. Now it's a five on three beatdown by the Mafia. Al Madril tries to run in and help but he is also overwhelmed. The Memphis Mafia stand tall as the show ends. WIN: Adams, Tomko & Magnum by DQ

The Memphis Mafia -- Honkytonk Man, Flowers and the Moondogs -- come out and join the broadcast position. Honkytonk Man does all the talking. and promises it'll be "nothing but chartbusters" for the Memphis Mafia as they take over All Star Wrestling. "Soon this'll be Memphis West, daddy! They'll be eating ribs and singin' the blues in downtown Vancouver!" MATCH #1 Skip Young defends the TV Title vs. Sonny King Sonny King making his All Star debut and goes against "Sweet Brown Sugar." King uses his size advantage and mat wrestling to try and ground Skip Young, but Skip holds his own despite the discrepancy in build and frame. A good back-and-forth, scientific battle between these two wrestlers, and it ends in a 10-minute time limit draw. Young and King shake hands after the match. WIN: Draw in 10:00 (Young retains title) **SEGMENT 2** Back to Ed Karl and Ellering, who hype the two-night tournament for the NWA International Title, July 23-24 from the PNE Garden Auditorium in Vancouver. Last week Chris Adams was revealed as the first entrant in the tourney, and the following names have been added to the tournament. --Magnum TA --Honkytonk Man --Bruce Hart --Keith Hart --"Sweet Brown Sugar" Skip Young Karl then teases one more confirmed entrant... and let's go to some words from him he sent in to the All Star office. Cut to a video of a massive closed fist. It pans out to reveal the frightening visage of Ox Baker! Ox: My friend Carl Fergie told me about what's going on up there in All Star Wrestling. Well, Ox Baker wants a piece of the action. I'm on my way to British Columbia, and next week on TV, I'm gonna show all you people in Vancouver that there's nothing that I like more than hurting people! And then, I'm taking that NWA International belt! We come out of the video and Grizzly Evans is now at the broadcast position. Karl: Grizzly Evans, what is this all about? You're not on our format... Evans: I'm callin' out Magnum TA! He humiliated me last week, but everybody knows it's just a fluke! So come out here RIGHT NOW, for a rematch! MATCH #2 Magnum TA vs. Grizzly Evans A huge reaction for Magnum as he enters the studio. Grizzly is in the ring, pacing back and forth like... well, a wild animal. A referee enters the ring, and as Magnum comes in, Grizzly immediately attacks! Grizzly lays in a couple of forearms to the head, then Magnum blocks Grizzly's punch and answers! He ducks another Grizzly punch, atomic drop! That staggers Grizzly, Magnum spins him around and hits the belly to belly suplex! WIN: Magnum TA in 0:20 **SEGMENT 3** MATCH #3 Al Madril vs. Mike Allen Madril making his All Star debut against Allen. He dominates against the overmatched Mike Allen, putting him away by submission with the Indian deathlock. WIN: Al Madril in 4:47 Ed Karl and Paul Ellering announce another entrant for the two-night tournament... Dynamite Kid! They cut to a special video package on Dynamite Kid, including footage of some of his matches from both Stampede and New Japan. MATCH #4 "Dr. Death" Steve Williams vs. Verne Siebert The anticipated All Star debut of Dr. Death! Williams uses his power and athleticism to run right through Siebert, putting him away with a vicious powerslam. WIN: Steve Williams in 3:20 **SEGMENT 4** Ed Karl and Paul Ellering continue to hype the tournament, and announce another name... Stan "The Lariat" Hansen! MATCH #5 Al Tomko vs. Dan Denton A nice round of applause from Tomko as he enters the studio. Tomko and Denton have a good, solid back-and-forth match. Tomko makes his comeback, and he hooks Denton in a sleeper hold, sending him to dreamland. WIN: Al Tomko in 10:23 Tomko heads to the broadcast position, still somewhat out of breath. Tomko announces he's entering the two-night title tournament, and he's going to represent for the "original" All-Star Wrestling. **SEGMENT 5** Ed Karl and Paul Ellering announce a one-night tournament on August 1 to crown new NWA International Tag Champs. More details on that next week! MATCH #5 Hart Brothers vs. Honkytonk Man & Diamond Timothy Flowers Honkytonk Man and Flowers bail out as the Hart Brothers enter the ring. Bruce and Keith are fired up after getting attacked by this same duo last week. The match starts, and it's all Harts early, as Honkytonk and Flowers stooge and bump for the fan favorites from Calgary. The Harts isolate Flowers, going to work on his left arm and applying an array of submission holds in true Dungeon fashion. The match changes when Flowers pushes Bruce Hart off into the ropes, and Honkytonk yanks down the top rope to send him spilling to the floor. The heat starts from there, as Honkytonk and Flowers work over Bruce Hart. The studio audience gets behind Bruce, and after a few exchanges between Honkytonk and Flowers, they go for a double team. Bruce ducks a double clothesline, then does a forward roll past a lunging Flowers and tags his brother! Keith Hart comes in firing away with punches and clotheslines and bodyslams on both Memphis Mafioso! A backdrop sends Honkytonk over the top rope to the floor. Keith Hart drops Flowers with a vertical suplex... and he heads to the top rope! A groggy Bruce Hart goes over to cut off Honkytonk Man, as Keith sizes up Flowers... but wait! Who's that at ringside? THAT'S JIMMY HART! Jimmy Hart gets up on the apron behind Keith Hart, pushing him off the top turnbuckle! Referee Bob Steele calls for the bell! WIN: Hart Brothers by DQ in 8:58 The match is over, and now the Moondogs come charging out of the back. It's another four on two beatdown for the Harts, BUT WAIT! Magnum TA and Al Tomko making their way out for the save before the Moondogs can even do any damage, and Tomko has a chair! WHAM! Moondog Rex takes a chair across the back before the Memphis Mafia scrambles. The show ends with Tomko and Magnum standing tall in the ring, and Moondog Spot and Flowers having to restrain a FURIOUS Honkytonk Man as he's trying to get in the ring. NEXT WEEK ON ALL-STAR WRESTLING! The rest of the field for the NWA International Title tournament is announced! Ox Baker makes his debut! An internationally known competitor comes to Vancouver! Plus much more!
