So, I looked it up just because I was curious for the most part. English is a required course in school for Japanese children. So every Japanese wrestler should at the very least comprehend someone speaking in English.
You know, the WWF and name changing really annoys me. I'm sorry but "The Shooter" Brent Albright was a perfectly good name. Gunnar Scott is just dumb compared to it.
I give it until next year's house cleaning when they release almost all of the ECW guys and just have the OVW bodybuilders and strippers in their place.
I was happy to see that Super Porky was on CMLL yesterday. It had been a long time since I've seen him and had thought he was no longer with the company.
I prefer Styles really. Batista typically has a stronger character but he suffers from horrible writing behind him. Before Eddie died he was going to have two heels fool him into thinking that they were going to reform before turning on him. I'd rather take a limited character over one that's all over the place and not consistent for the most part.
I wouldn't be surprised if everything in puro is done in English. I don't know how many in Japan speak English but I believe most of them at least understand it. I think kids take English in school.
I think he was supposed to just challenge for it. I don't believe that with Chosu as booker that he'd actually have a junior take the belt off of his golden boy.
I blame Chosu for how shitty the junior division had been until last year. That stupid, have Liger squash every junior on the roster and then let Sasaki destroy him in a non-title match was straight out of Vince McMahon's head.
I think if I did a top 100 list that I'd probably put Jushin Liger as my No.1 for all time. I've never seen a wrestler as well rounded as he is. He's consistently been good to great for around 16 years now. He even completely changed his moveset to a more brawling/power based one and still kept the same quality in his matches.
I've been taping CMLL off of Galavision and recording it to DVD. Pierroth makes me want to gouge my eyes out. I also noticed that Atlantis seems to have picked it up in the ring since his heel turn.
Don't they do that with the majority of them? It depends. Some guys are just 100% shooting like Arn. And some guys are working like Lawler. Though Lawler is awful in these as it always becomes about him in some way.
I'm just waiting for the revision in WWF history where HHH becomes bigger than Austin or the Rock. It's bad enough that they pretend like he's even in the same league as them.
I've always been fairly indifferent towards HHH. I was never big on DX except for after WMXIV and even then it was because of Road Dogg and X-Pac. I liked him for those couple of months here and there where he was really on but his 2000-2001 streak was more of a fluke than anything.
Though HHH/HBK are largely responsible for me almost giving up on wrestling a few years ago. TNA definately kept me in the fold as a fan.
I disagree slightly about tv. I think Impact flows better than any of the WWE shows most of the time. But I think that has to do with the lack of 20 minute promos and dumb skits doing on forever.
I think this feud with Abyss has done a world of good for Christian. I'd say the promo he cut Saturday was the best he's ever done. If he could keep this kind of intensity for everything he could really become a great champion.
I still have a feeling that part of this at least stems from his attitude towards women. He's been a problem in the past, 2 diva contestants quit because of him, and I doubt it was ever really addressed.
