Wrestling thoughts that probably don't deserve
Mad Dog replied to Coffey's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
Plus Hogan had places in near riots when he'd lose the title to someone. Look at the reactions when he lost to Luger, Sting and Goldberg compared to anything HHH wise. The difference between Hogan and HHH as heels. People paid to see Hogan get beat. HHH garners a collective nothing from fans. -
Wrestling thoughts that probably don't deserve

Completely different. When confronted by who Hogan was talking about he'd usually run like a giant pussy unless the nWo jumped them. Where HHH stands up there and either never gets challenged or he doesn't act scared at all. Hogan in the nWo was one of the best heels every seen in wrestling while HHH is actually booked like a super face. -
It won't age well. Early RoH has already not aged well.
-
Actually Puma has worked TNA before. He was in the X Division battle royal at Victory Road.

I doubt Vince can afford to buy NJPW. His pockets aren't terribly deep right now and I don't see any benefits to him doing it. The minute he tries to get his foot into Japan like that all the other companies will immediately band together and drive him out. Vince is petty but I doubt he's going to buy an entire company to try and get at Lesnar or an upstart national promotion.

I don't find a problem with being political backstage if you're a draw for the company. The worst part about Michaels and HHH is they've never had a positive effect on the company. Michaels is pretty down there as far as drawing champions go. Hogan gets a lot of heat for his political moves but at least he can say he was the biggest star in the U.S. It's when he was no longer having a positive effect at the box office that he started to become a problem.
-
I never said he acted the same as Michaels. I said he was just as political as Michaels was.
-
I think Bret was just as bad as Michaels when it came to the political side of things in the 90s. People just overlook it because he ultimately lost.
-
Yeah but a lot of people were problem childs in WCW. When he went to the WWF he was a model citizen.

Has Steiner ever really had a problem doing jobs though?

The Japanese are xenophobic in nature. So it's not a huge surprise. Though American culture is a giant fab there right now so I don't really know how that fits in with all of that. There tends to be a lot of racism towards Koreans there though from what I've heard. I'd say Misawa is probably more of a typical xenophobe. But it's hard to tell with him because he's big on kayfabe. Giant Baba supposedly was also in a similar camp with them as far as their attitudes towards foreigners.
-
A little of both I think. I just didn't know the right word for that and xenophobe didn't seem to properly fit.
-
My favorite is how people constantly try to spin how huge a racist that Kawada is.
-
I was thinking it was the 3rd of 4th incident with him in the last 5 months or so actually. I guess it's a bi-product of hanging around JBL and Undertaker. Though it's funny to see his actions getting glossed over while people bash JBL over it. I'm not surprised as people have been spinning him and Nancy Sullivan since it happened.

I really hope business just dies when HHH wins the belt at Mania.
-
When did Benoit start to become such an ass backstage?
-
If they really are suspending him over that then RoH is being stupid. They need to realize TNA is on a completely different level now and that they will LOSE if they try and pull rank on their workers. At this point the RoH roster is in shambles and losing someone like Jay Lethal is devastating to them.
-
I think TNA is the perfect place to take advantage of Steiner. 1-2 minute squashes are perfect for not exposing him and I think he'd bring in some viewers. Plus he'd at most be wrestling twice a month so the injury bug might not bite him. The IWC will hate it but then they hate almost everything.
-
I take intent mostly. I know just from my writings how it works. I'll get e-mail from someone asking if there was a deeper social meaning to some comic I did and I'll have to e-mail back like a retard "I just thought it was funny." Like Pegasus said some people really reach though. It seems like some people try to out smark each other with certain matches. I've seen some pretty dull matches and that people go on and on about even to the point where I wonder if it's the right match.
-
I predict that HHH will be exempt from the testing.
-
Eh, I see some undercard nothings getting suspended over this. Possibly some guys they want to get rid of not passing the test. I don't buy this anymore than just window dressing. They should've tacked on a health care program.
-
TNA puts up with Hardy because people buy anything with his name or face on it.
-
I hate Lillian to this day because she replaced Fink. As sek said hearing him announcing a title change is as good as it gets for wrestling announcing.

Wrestling thoughts that probably don't deserve

Wrestling Gold is worth it just for the Cornette and Meltzer commentary. -
To me, it's just an extension of a standing ovation. Are fans not allowed to stand up and applaud them for their performence? Or is that acknowledging, that it's fake too? It's the fans trying to put themselves over. They're trying to be like the Japanese fans while completely missing the point of why it works over there. Sometimes you just need to shut up and go with the flow of the show. There are way too many matches on the indy circuit where the fans are actively working against what the workers are trying to do in the ring. Though I can't talk because I just sit silently during the shows and watch. But then that's just me.
