  2. I have a sneaking suspicion that my VQ is better on NWA than Barnett's. But we'll see.

  4. Especially if the rumors are true that he's about to turn heel and feud with John Cena.
  5. I agree, and I think I get what you're saying. I just know how they think. I'd say there's a *slim* chance Batista will go over and be the one go to Smackdown, leaving HHH to bury Cena, but I doubt it.
  6. No, HIAC is for the title. I think it's why Cena went to RAW, to clear the way for HHH to go to Smackdown and go over a new crop of babyfaces as champ. In essence, the champs are switching brands, and HHH will be the last draftee. I'd be surprised if that doesn't happen.
  7. I still think HHH is going there after winning HIAC. In their minds, that's how you save a show.
  8. Since ECW always catered to an Internet crowd, I'm expecting RVD's promo and various other things throughout the night to contain tons of HHH bashing.
  9. Since we're discussing the year, what did everyone here think of these PPV matches, if you have in fact seen them? The Rumble Bret v Owen (Wrestlemania X) Shawn v Razor (Wrestlemania X) Bret v Diesel (King of the Ring '94) Bret v Owen (Summerslam '94) Bret v Backlund (Survivor Series '94) Any other standouts that you liked from the year? I'm also a big fan of the Action Zone tag featuring the Clique, along with the Bret/Owen Ironman handheld.

  12. Another random year that had lots of good matches because of Bret and Owen being in the top spots and the Clique working with each other and being motivated. Drug-induced booking at the 1994 Royal Rumble! Bob Backlund turns heel! Vince is acquitted of all steroid distribution charges! Wrestlemania X has two great matches! Lots of stuff here. One of my favorite memories of the year that often gets overlooked when discussing this time period is Marty Jannetty and 1-2-3 Kid's huge upset over the Quebecers on RAW for the tag titles, in what I recall being an excellent match as well. And of course, I'll continue and continue (and continue) pimping Bret/Kid from RAW as a great match, one of the best of the year.

  16. It would have taken Angle even longer had Undertaker and HHH (and even Austin) had their way. Not surprisingly, Rock was the only guy really willing to go all the way in putting Angle over.

  19. I'm sure I'd like the Guerrero/Malenko stuff from earlier in the year, as almost everyone calls the 2/3 falls match the worst one they had, and I'm interested in seeing some of the work from Scorpio as well. I'm also perfectly willing to revisit Raven/Richards v Pit Bulls sometime to see what I think of it, but I don't recall being too enthralled by it. Benoit/Snow I remember liking in ways, but neither guy played the heel and it was more of a match about wrestling than a wrestling match, if that makes sense.

  25. I think he could always go to a degree, but the WWF moved more and more toward a wrestling-based product as his career progressed and to his credit, he was able to at least keep up. I think he's done of his best work in the latter stages of his career, but 'Taker also slowed down his wrestling style dramatically in the early 90s under instructions from management, just so he'd fit his gimmick. With the gloves off, no pun intended, he probably would have had more standout matches from 1991-1995.
