    Promos in WWE

Still amazing to me that Vince obsesses over these details, but can't remember his own storylines.
  2. I would imagine Vince has a cryogenic plan. He'll return in 300 years. The angle writes itself.

    Enzo & Cass

Bryan destroyed him in that segment and was already talking about bigger things. I think that was set up to end that feud.
  4. For the love of God, they need to come up with a different transition than "GM is on the phone with someone unnamed before a wrestler walks in and wants to talk".
  5. Married 13 years, legally three of those years. Two children.
  6. Definitely not epic, but quite a self-conscious skit, no?

    Promos in WWE

I remember on the last Tough Enough when Velveteen Dream cut a promo that was really good, but Barrett told him it was dated and proceeded to cut a promo about kings that was incredibly cheesy and stupid.

    Promos in WWE

Joe is fully committed and knows who he is in a way almost no one else does, so he can follow many of the same tropes, but they connect because of his delivery. The material is way too complex. I hate you, I want to beat you up, I'm going to do it at (x) show is about as complicated as it needs to get. No yammering on about legacy.
  9. What Dave says about Miz's promos (not the type of thing that effectively builds matches) is BS, but that would be a fair criticism of Alexa's sarcasm.

  11. My primary issue with that I think is that it suggests part of being a good worker is the ability to articulate instincts, and some are better at explaining how they think than others. That doesnt make them better. It just means they are better at explaining themselves. The ability to clearly explain the work isnt part of the job description, and their word on these matters has little or no credibility by design. (They are carnies who rarely provide unfiltered truth.) For me, the primary goal of reviewing and talking about matches is to effectively compare any match to any match. That means finding universal criteria and sticking to it, which in this case is the performance in the ring. Is it the only way? No. But to me, a ****1/2 match in 2018 is equal in quality to a ****1/2 match in 1974. Mileage may vary for others. And because of all these limitations that can skew how we rate wrestlers, I prefer matches since they can all be treated fairly, especially if you are like me and care not at all about production values.
  12. Nia seemed to be a new hot babyface heading into Wrestlemania a little over a month ago. Not sure how she fell so quickly.
  13. We dont know all possible things. Therefore, I try to consider only the things that can be known about every match.
  14. By all rights, Stephanie should chew Kurt out again. It would make sense. What kinda lax GM lets this fly? Plus she hates Ronda!
  15. They sort of have to put the belt on her now, I think. I'd also put her more with the people who are best at getting things over -- Becky Lynch, Mickie James, and -- excusing her current route canal of a feud -- Sasha Banks. Mickie is a really strong ring general and could probably hold Ronda's hand through a match that made her look great. Plus they've also already somewhat built to it.
  16. Sami Zayn tried really hard to elevate horrible material, but I hate that type of stuff. It's just not what a promo of any kind should be. He did the best anyone could ask for, though. The Nia-Ronda segment was awful mainly because there was no actual conviction behind anything either of them were saying. They were clearly just reciting lines. Frustrating how they don't really allow (and encourage!) more improvisation and reacting. This was Nia says her line, then Ronda says her line, then Nia says her line, then Ronda says her line. Also, since when do champions hand-pick their challengers? Can wrestling ever get this straight for good?
  17. All of this because he lost a TV match?
  18. I think it's important to note in any look discussion that it doesn't mean we just have to put over talent that's obviously on PEDs. I think it's more important to look unique than it is to adhere to any imposed standard.
  19. Yeah ... so I guess that means ... I can't go since I didn't immediately buy a ticket? To be clear, I am ok with missing All In if it comes to that, but I'd like to meet a lot of you.
  20. I didn't know this was a thing re KO but I once sent my boyfriend of Goldberg's entrance and his one word response was 'daddy'. I hope it was a joke but I can almost see why it wouldn't be. This was 2017 Goldy as well. Goldberg and Austin in particular are classic daddies. I was laughing as I typed that sentence.
  21. Arn does, which means that by proxy, Dash Wilder also has his fans. Russo thinks fans are secretly gay because when he criticized Finn Balor's look, a bunch of people sent pictures of his abs or something.
  22. Does that mean 75% of wrestling fans also appeal to the bear community? Likely, yeah. I wish what Russo says about the current fanbase was true because going to shows would be such an easy way to score. You have no idea.
  23. I could get into Kevin Owens and his following in the bear community but I am not sure I should. I will just say he has lots of fans. So does that otter Sami Zayn.
