Well, Batista is taking time off after Extreme Rules and they obviously thought Evolution vs Shield was a better path for him on the way out than Orton tapping at WM and Bryan beating Batista at Extreme Rules. Why I'm not sure. Also, they have enough good talent on their roster that they should never have a shortage of marquee matches, and they wouldn't if they pushed more of them strong instead of just choosing a handful and putting everyone else on a treadmill.

As for not knowing what people want, it's simple. People want Daniel Bryan booked opposite a fresh, over, well-booked heel who can give him a ****1/2 match. Sadly, they don't have anyone that fits that bill.

I have less problem with the match than some, but I understand why some see it the way they do. Kane is a stale character who doesn't have the same type of credibility as a strong top heel. He has been around far too long and they are being slotted in the number two match on the show.

Of course, the saddest thing about no more Corporate Kane is that he looked so badass wrestling shirtless in the khakis. Whether it's out of professional respect or just doing what he has to do to keep up, Daniel Bryan brings something out of Kane that no one else does.

For anyone who's interested, on Twitter I'm taking a second look at the 90s matches I felt I should re-watch in order to make a proper top 500 of the decade list. I am watching them in chronological order. Along the way, I am also pointing out other notable matches and angles. Twitter felt more appropriate than the board because I am not rewatching anything with the goal of doing a second write-up on the matches.

It was reported a few months ago that Kane has been ready to retire for a little while now, but keeps getting money offers from WWE that are too good to turn down.

This is the second time they've tried to recreate Umaga, the first being Lord Tensai. It raises an interesting question of what Umaga had that the others don't. What made Umaga successful?

It's really cool to see Barrett getting revitalized. I've been wrong before, but I expect this push to stick. If I were booking WWE, I'd do WWE champ Daniel Bryan vs new IC champ Wade Barrett the night after Extreme Rules on RAW. Give them plenty of time and give Barrett a few nail biting nearfalls while the announcers take a new approach and talk about how these are the #1 and #2 guys in the company. Maybe put Barrett over huge for pushing the world champion in a major way. I don't expect that to happen and it's not the end of the world if it doesn't. But I think it would benefit both guys.

I'm expecting the match between the two to be better than most people are probably expecting, mainly because I see Bryan as wanting to revitalize himself after circumstances beyond his control have kept him from being the centerpiece of WWE since Wrestlemania.

Nash caring so much about this is stupid, but someone needs to clue him in that Piper is both mentally ill and incapable of shooting in a public forum.

At the current rate, Lana will be walking out naked in four weeks. She seems to be wearing something slightly more revealing every time she's on television.
