  1. Was Taker's orbital bone injury legit from Mabel's fat leg landing on him? Always wondered that or if they were giving Mabel one last shot by taking out one of the guaranteed draws to draw attention back on him? I liked the Mabel v Taker feud...one of those closet favories I will break out here and there!
  2. Owen sneaking in and pinning Shawn for the IC Title would have been a MUCH better idea to me... Then the next night could have either a rematch on TV or build to it with the title held-up...Owen vs. Shawn for OCt would have made WAY more sense that Douglas...but the Marines in Syracuse had other ideas.. So...Owen keeps the belt and drops it to Razor in OCt and things can go from there if needed....I'd have Owen keep it longer though....maybe drop it on TV to Razor later in one of those long TV matches that we could be talking about as a gem in a shit year...
  3. It was bad, but really wasnt any worse than the Sid matches.....
  4. Shane was fucked from the beginning.... I am not the biggest Shane fan (I like him, but dont think he's GREAT, although being from Pittsburgh gives him high marks) but this character idea SUCKED, whether he was a teacher or not... 1 year later and the Franchise Character could have been great for WWF in Summer '96...and no clique around (except Shawn and HHH (who was being punished anyway) to stop it.
  5. Seriously....it was like "Yeah...uh...Hey Bret....listen, Shawn / Razor / Diesel are gonna be the Main Eventers now...now wait, I know you are mad, but I have a GREAT idea...you CARRY the mid-card as THE MAIN GUY!! Great huh? I knew you'd like it!" "What's that? No Shawn and the boys didnt talk to me earlier about anything...I swear!"
  6. I have always thought if they would have gone with the Samoan Gangsta Party angle trying to get Fatu back into being a thug and let it move forward, it could have been a really nice mid-card feud for late Summer, early fall 1995 when they could have used them.... Why did the Gangsta Party come and go soo quick?
  7. Savio was fuckin fantastic hidden in 1995 WWF....by far.....they should have done more with him...he was boys with the Taker and the BSK so no clue why they didnt...
  8. This was the Main Event of KOR 1995...the Diesel vs. Sid matches were the month before and the month after this.
  9. I preferred the match they had on Invasion Of The Bodyslammers much more...longer and better to watch.. I still really enjoy this one to, but more for nostalgia and the fact the ending means something..

  11. I agree...he SHOULD have been in Survivor Series, considering what happened in the months prior...or AT LEAST at Armageddon vs. Triple H in teh No Holds Barred Match after what was done to him....especially after Armageddon when all of DX beat his ass on TV and Stephanie was slapping him around. If you are gonna destroy him that quickly, at least give him a Main Event match beforehand so you can use him later meaningfully.... Not sure who decided to completely squash him after the wedding as right before it he was HOT and got the win vs. HHH on the wedding night....made no sense.

  13. The Main Event scene will start to get better as the weeks go by.... There is even some decent mid-card stuff coming (Storm and Team Canada / Rection vs. Storm US Title Feud / Douglas vs. Kidman / Torrie feud (Torrie's best WCW work is with Shane) So get through the Bash, BATB will be fun just for the Russo stuff and the real main event at the end..After that, things start to move, except for one triple threat match that will not be spoken of....the the real fun begins, Scott Fuckin Steiner's rise to being the man, and, kayfabe, storyline wise, the most dominant champion of any promotion I can remember from Nov - Mar and the best heel on TV from end of August - March... The Magnificent 7 down teh road, goodness there to! But there is of course tons of shit to...but at least something good in between it all! I hate that WCW got actually good again (to me anyways) almost top to bottom after Starrcade and main event wise after July and then was done in March. I actually looked forward to Nitro the last 8 or 9 weeks and Thunder...
  14. Are there any singles or tag teams over the years and promotions you liked that you didnt really understand why you did as they were either really bad in the ring or on the mic and didnt really leave a huge impression on the business except with you? I can start with one of mine: Kevin Kelly / Nick Kiniski (w/ Madusa) - AWA - 1987 These guys werent together for a long time in AWA (maybe a year?) but for some reason I was an am a fan.. I liked their mic work and their arrogance about how good they were even though everyone knew they weren't. Kelly was in GREAT shape at this time (not the Nailz he would become) and Kiniski rocked his dad's cool Canada jacket. They had some good TV matches including an OK match with the Midnight Rockers when they came back to the AWA in late 87...They got a lot of TV time and interiews in the end of 87, beginning of 88...
  15. They can cry all they want...you cant fake the look on Silva's face as he was going down..the lights were out...period... Does it mean he's still not pfp the best or one of the best? No, but "You got knocked the fuck out....man!!" "Oh No, the guy I thought was untouchable got knocked out....must be fixed..." I bet these are the same people that thought Buster Douglas win over Tyson was fixed and not what this was, someone not being ready for what they thought was inferior competiion.

  18. What would you suggest be the first match I watch to begin my British Wrestling experience? Hoping to check it out tonight ....
  19. I will preface this by saying I am a HUGE Greg Gagne fan in the ring...that being said.. That is the ONLY photo I have ever seen of him where he looks remotely like he's been in the gym!
  20. I'd say 2012 NJPW is probably thought of as the closest thing to 90s AJPW since 2004 NOAH. I think Puro is general is thought less of by the real diehards these days, who seem to prefer to explore 80s stuff and the territories and lucha and dislike the epic and spotty style of a lot of it. But among new fans, modern NJ seems to be to them what AJ was to tape traders in the 90s e.g. by far the best in ring wrestling product on the planet, at least for the heavyweights. Practically everyone is an 'internet fan' now though, so you can't really summarise the tastes, whereas in 2000 it was a select group of hardcores who generally all agreed on what they liked and were far more limited in terms of what they could watch. Views are far more diverse now, due in a large part to availability. It's the same in a lot of things. Consensus, zeitgeist defining alternative albums are very much the exception now, because there is so much music available and so many diverse styles that people like. Thanks for the helpful answer....will take a look....
  21. Where did Murdoch and Superstar tag together at? I gotta find me some of that...two of my all-time favorites..
  22. Would ANYthing today be even thought of as decent compared to 90's AJPW / NJPW and 2000's NOAH? I know the sport has declined in popularity but is the in-ring still really good in spots?
  23. Can ANYONE download this video? Its Finlay vs. Mary Jones from 84 and its good... http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x9bzuq_fi...=2#.UdWhI-vTlzZ Or least tell me why I cant... I have tried literally 10 different methods and cant get it downloaded.....no matter what!! Thanks EDIT - I Finally got it...what a pain...
  24. Gracias!!
  25. Can someone or many one's educate me on what some of the better matches shown on World of Sport are?
