  2. I dunno, to me it looks like he's just moving his head along with the bump to draw attention to it.
  3. My reasons for thinking it was the planned finish: - It's seamless. Liger reacts immediately with the applause. Liger doesn't appear to have time to get over to call the new finish and Sasuke hits the standing huricanrana as soon as humanly possible. - It's a great finish for Sasuke's upset win, better than hitting the springboard huricanrana or whatever after Liger celebrated the koppo kick. - It fully establishes Liger's subsequent characterization as an asshole in interpromotional matches. - Sasuke didn't usually do outside-in springboard moves and one would be needed if it was the planned finish. Sasuke's left foot definitely misses the top rope but that could have very well been planned. As for why it would be a legitimately botched spot, the original would be more of a typical Liger booked finish for sure and you could also argue that Sasuke botched it because it wasn't something he normally did. Sasuke not using it before can be used to argue in both directions, though.
  4. I can't remember if I've asked this before, but... Do we have any way of knowing that what ended up happening wasn't the planned Liger-Sasuke finish?
  5. Hell, speaking of stuff being against the law, as Punk pointed out on Twitter, the dental practice violated HIPAA.
  6. Have you actually paid attention to what type of fans he complains about?
  7. GO AWAY. NOBODY LIKES YOU.
  8. Listen to us turn into overtired giggling idiots while recording beta 2: http://www.cagesideseats.com/2011/6/12/222...hardy-news-more
  9. MNM-Hardys from Rumble '07 is kinda perplexing to me in that I legitimately have no idea why it hasn't really been pimped at all outside of our circle. It's the type of match I'd expect most fans to love, as it's worked exactly like a high end MX vs R&R match but with lots of new, creative, spots that totally make sense.
  10. The R&Rs not having great offense (which often ties into people saying they weren't as good as the Fantastics) is a talking point that needs to be put to sleep. Best evidence is probably in their matches with the MX on Cornette's MX rarities DVD set, which is a must-have. Most memorably, they did a faster and smoother version of the Rockers-Orient Express RR '91 finish.
  11. What's all this then? The Giant was scheduled to be turned face long before it actually happened. They taped matches in Orlando for Worldwide to air after the turn. His manager was Ed Leslie as The Clipmaster (as in the closes to straight up calling him Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake besides "Brother Bruti"). The turn was canceled and THE CLIPMASTER never appeared on TV.
  12. Lanny was still really good in Florida indies post WCW so I'm sure he would've done fine while he was signed there. He never worked a match for the company as far as I know, even something for international syndication like Frank Andersson or something that was taped before being scrapped and went unaired like babyface Giant managed by The Clipmaster (among many other things I probably forgot). As far as The Rumor goes, has anyone asked Dave for comments on Oliver's post about how The Rumor can't be the reason because Stephanie was such a total ringrat whore who was being passed around by THE BOYS IN THE BACK who Oliver Knows because he is teh insider?
  13. Yes, once it's fully up and running I'll put a feed together and submit it.
  14. For what it's worth, in his book, J.J. Dillon said part of the philosophy behind the Flair-Garvin programs, especially in '87, was to have stiffer/more hard hitting main events to differentiate JCP from the WWF.
  15. We'll try to inject some retro...or we can do a separate show for that, I dunno. We haven't done a second show yet because Dylan's PC issues are keeping him from using Skype so we'll probably do more TalkShoe Betas on a less regular schedule for now.
  16. Wut.
  17. Losing to Zhukov after the Bolsheviks split is arguably worse than teaming with job guys.
  18. Was Great American Bash '87 a PPV or closed-circuit? They main evented in Wargames for that one. But astoundingly, overall you seem to be correct on this one. (Canadian Stampede '97 wasn't in the states, so technically doesn't count.) You'd think for sure that the LoD would've been in a big main event at some point or another, but I can't name another one besides the exceptions I already mentioned. Home video taken from more than one house show/TV taping.
  19. Chavito definitely worked on Lucha shows in the two years+ that he worked on before going to WCW.
  20. Roller derby's still around, believe it or not. There's a group that ran in the Nashville Fairgrounds for years (I dunno if they're still there now) and regularly outdrew most wrestling shows in the same building by a large margin. I know, but the wrestling influences are gone in much of the country, where it's often a shoot. I believe that it's mainly some of the California based groups that are still worked.
  21. Obits, HOFer and other bios: Chris Candido Eddy Guerrero Ann Calvello (Roller derby star, obit serves basically as a fascinating history of Roller Derby that shows why it was, indeed, the closest thing to pro wrestling in its day). Kerry Von Erich (The version in Tributes is heavily edited) Martin Karadagian (HOF bio by Kurt Brown and Steve Sims) Brian Pillman bio from the time of the Pillman WWE DVD release News coverage and stuff: The off-format Feb '91 issue that serves as a week in the life of Dave as all sorts of stuff goes down with the WWF and his bosses at The National Sports Daily. The WWF scandals coverage in '92, especially the issue covering the Donahue show with Dave, Vince, Bruno, et al on the panel. Japan trip issues. The detailed listing from during the Benoit fallout of wrestlers who worked for full time/major promotions and died young in the previous 20 years. Morbid, but important, as it gives better context to the lists than anyone else has. General history pieces: WCCW piece from when Heroes of World Class came out Other: 2006 awards issue from Jan 2007. Beginning of the recent trend of Dave giving his thoughts on the awards results, but it also has a bizarre "potential WWE HOF candidates" list feature where Dave seems really bitter and analyzes the list (I think the one leaked by Hogan putting his live conversation with someone from WWE on the air on Bubba The Love Sponge's show) an oddly hilarious way. Those are off the top of my head.
  22. The latter. Ditto Steve F.
  23. RF bought regular ads in PWi promoting his tape sales starting in '95 IIRC. I recall occasional ads from one or two others earlier.
  24. We got our first VCR in '93, I started taping a few months later.
