  1. He was named as a defendant in Konnan's lawsuit against TNA, too.
  2. Oh, fine. He's the person in the WCW lawsuits with the most racist comments attributed to him by the most witnesses.
  3. I feel like it's funnier if I never, ever explain it.
  4. I've watched that episode. Him and Mr. T did the skit with Billy Crystal that's kind of lived on, but that's basically it. Yup. It's a weird episode. They replaced Steve Landesberg (who got sick) late enough for nothing to be written for them, but with enough time left in the week for Landesberg to get better and appear on the show and do his planned monologue in the middle.
  5. Cornette knows the bar mitzvah story and if he worked one, it definitely wasn't Brian's.

  7. http://605pod.com/2015/12/24/605-episode-6-the-master-of-sex/ David Bixenspan and The Great Brian Last return to discuss all sorts of random wrestling topics including: Last week’s show with Jim Cornette. The missing link in Brian’s 1995 SMW Fan Week story of fleeing a near-riot in Louisville. Pro wrestling cards on holidays. Brian paging through The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Pro Wrestling. A delay in ending the show to discuss who owns what video libraries. And much more, including the debut of Dennis of the Week. Follow us on Twitter at @davidbix and @GreatBrianLast. 9. Guy in charge of the WWE concussion protocol, folks. *on the off chance that this wasn't about Dr. Maroon, most of the local beat writers that cover sports here say pretty much the same thing about him as well. What exactly is Maroon's concussion treatment?

  11. My fault for not pressing in the stuff I knew about from past conversations. I'm sorry. I didn't know you were so easily offended. No, I wasn't being sarcastic. You're right.
  12. Anyone got a time stamp for Russo saying Corny flashed a gun at him so I don't have to listen to him dissecting a PPV?
  13. My fault for not pressing in the stuff I knew about from past conversations.
  14. http://605pod.com/2015/12/17/605-superpodcast-episode-4-jim-cornette/ Our friend and long-time wrestling fan/tape trader/photographer Jim Cornette joins us for a chat about all sorts of random wrestling topics including: Tape trading, the hunt for more wrestling in general, and the “command center” he jury-rigged when he went to Mid-South. Satoru Sayama/original Tiger Mask, why he was successful, does his stuff hold up, how did his predecessors like Gran Hamada and Tatsumi Fujinami compare, etc. How insider terms evolved and how fans becoming “smart” changed backstage etiquette. The greatness of Jim and Brian’s late friend Dennis Coraluzzo. Corny watching Pibe Diez’s accident in real time on the air.. And much more! This is a very different Jim Cornette podcast than what you’re used to.
  15. When he told it on my old podcast it was definitely Sterling James Keenan/Corey Graves.
  16. The one thing I did notice about the Best of the WWF stuff quality wise was that I guess in the mid '80s, equipment was still primitive enough that you could see the generation loss. They were noticeably fuzzier than everything else from the same time period and the dubbing to make the compilations makes sense as the reason why.
  17. See, that's just realistic, complicated, and boring. Let's just go with "megomaniacal super villain who wants to ruin childhoods and bury old timey wrestling cuz cocaine and blah blah" Where are either of you getting the idea that WWE's archive consists of EP mode VHS tapes?
  18. http://605pod.com/2015/12/10/605-episode-3-the-bar-mitzvah/ 6:05 (the Superpodcast?) is back as David Bixenspan and Brian Last discuss: Brian's tale of his bar mitzvah, where his mom booked Vince Russo. And then Vince Russo booked the bar mitzvah. Really. An update onthe second(?) El Pibe Diez. More WWE Network stuff. Jerry Jarrett on Jim Cornette's podcast. Classic wrestling movie Body Slam. How underrated is the Junkyard dog? And much more! Follow us on Twitter at @davidbix and @GreatBrianLast. 19. "My goodness, that has to be the stupidest name I've ever heard."
  20. That would be the only thing that makes sense. Wouldn't be the first time stuff was taken down temporarily to be re edited for IP reasons. I would think the deal would be simple enough to make though?

  22. They were doing that with the Florida footage that saw during the Flair vs Dusty Rivalries Show. I was highly disappointed when I saw that they ripped the Mid Atlantic films from YouTube for the Flair vs Steamboat episode. They should just pony up with the money get those reels Cornette has cause those films holds up lot better than than regular broadcast footage. It takes longer to digitalize with those reels but it's worth it cause tapes deteriorate. Now I need to check out that Rivalries episode. As for the Cornette stuff, what he should really do is a Kickstarter for an HD conversion with donation tiers that get you Blu-Rays and/or downloads. His existing conversion (to SVHS) wasn't even that good by the standards of the SD era and now they look especially bad. Done right, they could look pretty gorgeous.
  23. WWE apparently re-scanning the Stampede 16mm film reels in HD instead of using old SD video transfers is the cherry on top of the territory show rollout sundae:
  24. IIRC Nelson's book, he specifically said he goofed off with weird stuff on that show. I thought the name was an error on the network until these posts jogged my memory.
