  1. Work to push the loose cannon gimmick, IIRC. Foley is an interesting one because as left leaning guys like Punk, Bryan, and company are, there's no one else I could see being as deep into modern feminist politics as he is.
  2. That's not...terrible. I mean, I think in his head it's much bigger than it was in reality, when you consider how big Bret was in places like Germany, it's far from one of the dumbest things he's said.
  3. All in all the thing was pretty funny but they should not have done the hit-piece like segments about Sid, Steiner and Adamle. And who the hell is the Sideshow Bob look-alike and what's his connection to wrestling? This guy: http://www.notsam.com/
  4. Basically, if they got 20c per sub on a basic tier with strong national coverage, it would mean ridiculous money for WWE. There's no way they'd turn that down.
  5. So, what'd you think of the Warrior article?
  6. I was wondering what that update was for. At least they're listening.
  7. Is it possible that it's a tape library issue? I remember reading that the WCCW tapes weren't in the best condition when WWE got them. It seems like they've started going in order for ECW now. At least with WCCW, a lot of those shows aired on Classics on Demand, though, so they've been digitized.
  8. There's also an Android app. There's a third way through the website (protected PDF maybe? Brian would know, obviously) to get it digitally but I'm not sure what it is: http://www.fightingspiritmagazine.co.uk/digitalmag/issue/104
  9. Wow, that is terribly unflattering to both of their noses.
  10. I'll try to shill it elsewhere too, but the Warrior article is probably the best thing I've ever written. There's never been anything like this kind of detail on the topic before and I'm not even trying to toot my own horn when I say that seeing it all laid out in their own words is completely fascinating. It includes: - Excerpts from Warrior's grand jury testimony. - Extensive details on Warrior's 1991 suspension, including what led to him writing his demand letter. - The absolute burial Vince unleashed on Warrior in the suspension letter. - Details of everything Warrior tested positive for as part of WWE's drug testing in 1992. - Exactly what happened with Warrior trying to buy HGH and how it got him fired. - The customized terms of Warrior's 1996 contract. - What exactly led to Warrior throwing a fit in '96 and walking out and who exactly may have been responsible. - An exclusive, never before reported on development that will surprise a lot of people, which I won't spoil here. And much, much more. It's exactly the type of thing I'd expect everyone here to love reading.
  11. Shouldn't they have a good 25-30 years of their own shows in Spanish? It makes sense to want other libraries in Spanish, but they should have plenty.
  12. For how long? I know they did circa '87-'88.

That's fantastic. Usually fan-made WWE videos are terrible, but this one is pretty much perfect, more like the videos NickTheFace does for UFC fights.
  14. Meaning what, no more free weeks for good once they're seven days out from WrestleMania?

It isn't a case of what movie goers want. I think the WWE wants the belt on display when Batista does all that promotional work hyping the movie. And as we learned with Rock last year and Hogan in TNA, the third party that the appearance is being booked to promote makes them not promote wrestling.
  16. I'm surprised they inducted that youngster. Someone asked Meltzer on WO Radio a year or so ago why Gorilla called him a "fiery youngster". Dave said it was an in-joke of sort that Monsoon would say about "unknown" or foreign wrestlers. Can't remember exactly. Colon was the oldest entrant in that Rumble, just slightly older than Flair, Backlund and Lawler. I remember that...it wasn't clear if he was saying Monsoon was being self-deprecating. Monsoon was business partners with Colon so it's not like he didn't know who he was.
  17. He's been local promoter in PR for years so it's not surprising. It wouldn't shock me if this swayed some of the younger wrestlers who vote for the WON HOF, too.
  18. There's a lot of truth in what you say, Kris. But going on the year 2014 alone Mike has gone through quite the dry spell when it comes to scoops and as incorrect as incorrect came be about Hogan being at the Network launch deal. Hogan was originally supposed to be at the Network launch and I was told that people in the company were told to leak his presence. Not that I am the most well connected person on Earth, but in this day and age it's shockingly easy for a long time fan to get some degree of scoopz, including stuff that wasn't reported by any of the main sites. It wasn't just that he reported it, it was that he reported Hogan was actually seen there twice. After the fact the explanation was that a guy who looked very similar to Hogan was there which...I mean, I don't think he'd make something like that up, but it still sounds ridiculous even if it's the 100% truth.
  19. Probably my greatest headline/photo combo ever. I’ll let you be surprised. http://bit.ly/1i3K5cx
  20. I think it's fitting. The promomtion started out as a vanity plaything for Jeffey's ego. It's transitioned over the years to playing to the ego of Kurt, Dixie, Hogan and Eric at various times along with people beneath them. Perfect. Every single one of those other people were trying to make themselves indispensable to make more money, though.
  21. We know that she had to have a role on the booking team and on-screen if they sold, but do we know what that had to entail? Like, could Jarrett and Keith make her a part of the booking team but not actually listen to any of her ideas? Could her screen time be spent in a dunk tank? If you shame her into quitting, is the agreed upon deal still met? They were fine with giving her a face-saving figurehead role. When the Carters said she needed to still be an on-screen character, Jarrett and Keith balked because that was dictating creative.
  22. I...think so?
  23. I get genuinely uncomfortable watching Impact when Dixie Carter is doing her thing. Even before the news came out about why they didn't sell it was frustrating to watch because of how obviously pandering to her they were, but now? You're super wealthy and your personal satisfaction comes from your parents blowing money on a vanity playfighting company where you can play executive and actress to the point you had to keep your TV role if they sold?
  24. "Bryan said that he wouldn’t leave until he got his match with HHH at Mania. He then had a bunch of plants all wearing the exact same Daniel Bryan t-shirt come out to fill the ring and ringside area. They all chanted yes together. This was so goofy and inorganic. And the more the plants all chanted together in unison, the less you saw the people in the actual audience doing it. Even the most unobservant fans have to notice the irony in a supposed protest movement so obviously comprised of WWE selected participants wearing identical WWE merchandise. It had all the populist authenticity of a Michael Bay biopic about Woody Guthrie." "On the downside, I thought the most important angle of the show hit the wrong notes. WWE has a continuing issue with coopting fan movements in a way that undermines their original power and basic identity." You've got to be kidding me. That's a good thing.
