"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
Bix replied to Bix's topic in Megathread archive
He thinks the pre-2000 archival footage was all taken from VHS tapes. Seriously. http://www.rspwfaq.net/2014/02/wwe-network-update-day-2.html All videotape is VHS. -

So the PPV ending and end of goat stuff was just to set up the HHH match? ...
-
It looks like the tape is damaged to some degree and maybe they used the master tape for the comm. release in certain areas. There's an edit when they go to the battle royal that I think is exactly the same as as the one the comm tape.
-
Yup, the promo showed them doing the test shows at tapings.
-
Bryan's gonna beat HHH to get into the title match and win the belt to close the show. Pretty obvious IMO.
-
Yes, as long as you cancel before next Monday.
-
Since Loss keeps telling me to remember to link my stuff here, my Chamber postmortem is about how Bryan is clearly winning the title to close Mania: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1971220-wwe-elimination-chamber-2014-daniel-bryans-loss-will-lead-to-wrestlemania-win

They brought Sable back and she's married to a top star now.

The theory I've seen is it'll be an update to the existing WWE app on Xbox 360.
-
There's already an entry for it on the PS4 version of the PS Store with Monday's date listed, so it looks like it's already there but with the date locked for downloads (so we don't have to wait for the store to update Tuesday).

Perception from the other passengers, who presumably didn't report it at the time. If you believe Marty (yeah, I know) a bunch of passengers were basically high fiving them for "dealing with" the unruly college kids.
-
The Marty story I tend to believe are the ones of him drugging up women to bang, which if I recall correctly he told on his brief time on Wrestling Classics. Bix or Dylan - do you remember them? Anyway... it's not something that someone would make up, and only something that someone would say if he thought it was a cool funny story of his fun old days in the business. I recall that a slew of people were flat out appalled. Drugging some college kids (two guys and a girl) on a plane and molesting the girl. Buddy Rose and Luke Williams (I think) corroborated it. It's crazy how perception changes. It's not to say that was acceptable then, but the criminal justice system now makes that a very serious crime (as it should be). The guy must be a serious sociopath, which I suspect is an overrepresented psychological condition in the business. It was a crime back then, and a pretty serious one. It's just that rape and sexual assualt have always been under reported and especially in that age range (high school / college) and circumstances (booze or drugs involved). They still are under reported, and if you ever read the stats on the % of women raped or assualted in their lifetime, the % that aren't reported, and then the % of rapists / assualist who actually ever do time... you brain would hurt. It's staggering data. I think his point was that it was on a commercial flight and there were no repercussions.

She can record a Skype call and she has her NPR voice. I think that's it.

The Angle column is pretty much a must-read. A complete 180 from everything he's said the last 7+ years since he left WWE, and that's a good thing. Very blunt, shockingly honest piece about the emotional issues that drove him to addiction and how he learned to identify and deal with them.

Paul Boesch explained on Houston Wrestling that it was from an inheritance. I think. -

In the new issue it's the article about the 20th anniversary of ECW's "The Night the Line Was Crossed" show. Previous issue was the first year of the WWF expansion.

(I know Brian usually posts when there's a new issue but...) Brian Elliot has really done an incredible job turning Fighting Spirit Magazine into something different from any other English language wrestling magazine we've ever seen. FSM immediately caught my attention when Brian took over as editor because, well, a glossy wrestling magazine running a Vampiro profile by Phil Schneider is certainly something different. I talked to someone who had been under the impression was just another generic glossy wrestling magazine like WOW was, and I want to make sure nobody makes that mistake again. Each month there's plenty of historical content and in general it's home for the type of wrestling writing that people on this board would really like. The new issue (#103) that came out today includes: - My look at ECW's "Night the Line Was Crossed" 20 years later with exclusive comments from Sabu, Terry Funk, & Tommy Dreamer. - Guest column by Kurt Angle on rehab, recovery, and the source of his depression. - Guest column by Chris Jericho on current WWE and his podcast. - A Mae Young obituary by historian Tim Hornbaker. - John Lister on the history of wrestling on PPV. - Jim Cornette's monthly column looks at the changes in wrestling revenue streams. - Lister's monthly historical piece on older British wrestlers examining the career of Ricky Knight (father of Paige from NXT/husband of Saraya from Shimmer). And more, like an interview with UFC executive Garry Cook, Mike Campbell on the rise of the Wyatt family, and a lot more. I'm really, really proud of the work I'm doing in FSM. It's some of the best stuff I've ever written (my article coming in #104 may be the very best thing I've ever done) and having a magazine (and editor) so in sync with what I'm interested in is just wonderful. I really liked the article I did in #102 (in-depth look at the first year of the WWF expansion), but #103 is really a perfect issue for people to start with. If you're in the UK you can get it at newsagents/newsstands, but the best way to get it elsewhere is online. There are apps for iPad/iPhone ($2.99 and you get any issue you want w/ purchase) and Android (free app, buy issues in-app) or you can get the issue directly from the FSM website. If you've never read FSM before, please give this issue a shot. I think you'll all really enjoy it.

Jimmy Garvin shouldn't be judged on Freebirds Jimmy Garvin.

Spike would be dumb not to bid. It would literally kill TNA and the Jarrett/Keith effort and that would be bad for wrestlers, but they'd get very compatible programming on a strong network and maybe Viacom could throw Total Divas on VH1 or something. I'm not sure we'd get live Smackdown on Spike, though, becuase it's best used as a lead-in to Bellator and I can't see them moving the taping or Spike moving Bellator to Tuesdays.

I thought you were gonna say based on the performer's real life job and that would definitely be Big Bossman and Paul Bearer.
