Verne killed an old man. New Jack killed someone. Are we only judging murders by age now? Adults are okay, but kids are off limit? It either turned out New Jack had never killed anyone or that his stories were exaggerated. I forget which. Even then the kayfabe version was that they were all ruled justifiable homicides. Hall killed a man in self defense. Gagne is a sick elderly man with Alzheimer's who attacked a fellow patient at a nursing home. Yeah, I think Snuka killed Nancy Argentino, but officially he's never even been charged. Benoit garroted his wife, strangled his son and/or broke his neck with his pro wrestling finishing hold, and then tortured himself to death in a house filled with drugs and the case became a high profile media circus in the age of the 24 hour news cycle. It's different.

I haven't listened to the Bryan & Todd show as of yet but I can't think of any scenario where this isn't about the network. I guess in theory they could wait a week or two to announce the actual launch date, but that would be dumb. It's at CES and obviously that's for a reason, Vince is there, they sent out those nice formal media invitations...what the hell else could it be? As for Benoit I'm going to guess that's for convenience in terms of requiring less editing work more than anything else.

Backstory: Comedy booker Steve Bix is my second cousin. My sister was Googling him to explain his existence to someone and found this old article: http://archives.citypaper.net/articles/200...-02/cover.shtml Basically he got into a feud with a guy named Steve Pickle and you could do a find and replace on this to turn it into an article about Philly indie promoters. Completely ridiculous and amazing.

Chael Sonnen knew his role completely, played up to it vs. Anderson Silva. And due to this UFC did some great PPV numbers. He wasn't even the #1 contender Who should've gotten the title shots Sonnen got ahead of him? He got the first one after beating Okami and Marquardt (well, and Dan Miller), then got the second one after beating Stann and Bisping. The only other guy "in line" in 2010 was Vitor, but Sonnen had really done more to earn it (Vitor beat Rich Franklin at a 195 catch weight in his UFC return). Unless you're arguing Bisping was robbed on the decision, who the hell should have gotten the 2012 shot? Hector Lombard in his debut? Vitor instead of doing TUF Brazil? Alan Belcher for how he beat Palhares?

UFC Fight Pass is hugely rushed, so who knows? It's replacing UFC.TV, but isn't even available on Roku yet when UFC.TV was. Eventually, I'd think/hope so, but the early priorities are probably XBox 360, Playstation 3, Roku, AppleTV, and Chromecast. Maybe TiVo, too. WWE is going to be launching with a decent amount of hardware support, most likely. How far it extends is something we won't know until the announcement, most likely.

On a related note, does anyone know if the stuff in the old WONs about Dustin being planned as getting a main event push as the guy to unify the WCW and NWA/WCWI belts was really in the cards before they made the play for Hogan? Because if so, he kind of got screwed there.

He specifically said it wasn't a prediction. My impression was the exact opposite of yours, that he was saying "I wasn't making predictions, I was discussing what I know is planned." Especially when Mike Johnson reported the same story yesterday.

It's been forever since I watched Angle-Benoit but I would think it holds up better (even if it doesn't hold up especially well) than the other similar Angle matches because at least it looked like two evenly matched wrestlers countering each other (especially with Benoit being the one guy who could do the faux amateur spots with Angle) and not Angle letting people roll him up to put him in his own finisher. Plus the finish was actually kind of clever when Angle had never done the heel hook before. After that he expected "reversal reversal reversal this time Kurt puts the heel hook on he's not getting out" to be dramatic even though he did it in every match.

12% seems crazy high for smart TV ownership. Even if you account for the average person liking the idea of it being all in one device, smart TVs are usually not entry level TVs (though that's changing a little).
