Loss part of the talk of putting it in the greatest tv talking pile is that you don't want to miss a segment for the most part . The territorial days you had a lot of squashes, some important , a lot meaningless. So I think it's a top to bottom thing.

The Continental comparison with Smackdown is interesting . Ryan Ward has been key and who Johnny Sorrow told me should be the MVP of Smackdown . Brian James has a lot of influence too. Heck he's an Armstrong thus part of the Continental vibe.

3 3/4* that style of wrestling isn't my thing. I don't like the my matches are real story aspect in a lot of Shibata and Ishii matches. This match wasn't riddled with that , but had enough. I enjoyed the story of Goto going after his big win. Though if you examine it closer . Shibata had the same label going into last year. So in essence he got his big win on the 2nd biggest choke artist, and it's the 3rd level belt. Not the IWGP belt where he's 0-8. He's been IC and tag champion, so they took the narrative of him choking in IWGP matches and applied it here. A lot of people like this style. For me it's the hardest thing to enjoy this type of style, but I will admit a lot of people love it.

4. 1/7/17 Styles Clash Fred Yehi vs Anthony Henry 4 1/4* I really liked this match, and if it was in a different enviroment I would have probably rated it higher. I really liked the mat work early. Both guys did a great job of being s selling and putting over the strikes and moves. Yehi working at least 5 different ways to stomp a hand or hamstring was really masterful. They did this suplex exchange that I wasn't a fan of. I liked the build and the escalation in this. The work was basic but gritty, and got me invested. Going 30 minutes with the champ also helps Henry. So we got a great match, and established Henry in the promotion. When you establish things like wins important, a draw can matter .

Stomper vs Jones Stomper all over Jones early. I've liked what Stomper I've seen. Brawling on the floor now. Jones taking a beating. Jones had the crowd with him on his comeback. Stomper cuts him off , and hooks on the stomach claw. Jones is selling this pretty damn good. Again Jones has the crowd on his comeback. A misstep and Stomper is working the midsection. Jones is a big boy so you believe in him going toe to toe. Still this is a little plodding, and lacks a spark. I loved Jones dropping head butts on Stomper's leg. I liked aspects of the match. 2 1/4* Buck Robley promo building to a Stomper/Brody match.

Blanchard vs Scott Casey We get a killer Gino promo to start. He really is the total package. Gino's antics on the outside are really interesting. The match is more about Gino on the outside. Tully and Gino are heat magnets. Match though was more of a backdrop.

Morton vs Grappler I loved how the grappling led to this awesome rope running high spot. Morton is looking good early. The Grappler is awesome in shining him up. Grappler suckers Morton into a test of strength/knuckle lock. Morton reverses it in a great spot. Again Grappler making Morton look like a million bucks. Grappler takes a bump on his shoulder and Morton starts working it. Grappler uses leverage to get Morton tossed to the outside. Grappler begins a straight up rudo tactic. He gives Morton a little bit of a run, then cuts him off. They build to a hot finish. Grappler loads the boot and the rest is history. 3 1/2*

Eddie and Koko getting into each other was grand. We get some fun stooging early from Bulba and was really good at it. This allows Koko to get on the mike and gets an Eddie is a chicken chant. This is glorious, and Eddie plays it up huge. The crowd is super hot . Koko selling inderneath and the crowd is with him 100%. When he makes his comeback the crowd is so behind him. Just a super fun bout. 2 3/4*

The Dragon Suplex off the top should be a finish on a big show. Next year what are you going to do ? Go through a table? With that said I enjoyed the match . It could have been much shorter though.
