  1. Princess Victoria vs Lelani Kai I really like Leilani Kai's belly flop bumps. Princess Victoria had a good connection with the crowd. Kai after the arm. This is a fun work rate match. Loved the body scissor spots. Loved Kai going back to the arm. Super fun match. 3*

  3. Grapplers vs Tiger Jr./Morton This says 29 minutes so these guys are going to get some time. The Grapplers are also the DWB's. A fun shine by the faces with quick tags. Faces are great at keeping the heels off balance. I'm marking out how the faces are using the headlock in a super effective way. Morton with an awesome atomic drop. Double drop kicks, hell yeah. Love Boesch teasing the loaded boot on commentary. Loving the Grappler's shining up the faces. Grapplers cut off Tiger, but is able to tag in Morton who misses a dropkick and the Grapplers start to work him over. Specifically the shoulder. The Grapplers heat segment is really focused. Tiger is good on the outside. Loved the heel switcheroo draws some heat. Morton'n fight is great, but his FIP work is the tops. Loved the set up to the hot tag, and then the hot tag. A real fun finish to the 1st. This was an awesome 1st fall. The 2nd fall starts. They pick up perfectly and go after the neck after winning the 1st fall with a Hart Attack. The Grappler's psychology is so good here. Working a headlock to further hurt the neck. Also to take the crowd down a bit. Morton with a great cross body for a great nearfall. The faces get the equalizer. The 3rd fall The faces get back to basics with quick tags. I loved how Tiger's headbutts were great than the Grapplers. Faces lighting them up with . I loved the finish since it was teased earlier . Final Thoughts. I thought the 1st fall was absolutely great tag wrestling. The layout, the psychology, the selling. It was right on point. The match felt a little long, but these guys did a great job filling the time. I liked how in a throw away line Boesch gave us the finish. 4 1/4*

  6. 12/29/16 Beyond Chris Hero vs Keith Lee 4 1/4* This was a pretty awesome big boy fight. I liked that they did a play off of the Hero sucker punch spot. It was awesome to see someone match up with Hero in size. These guys really built to payoffs, and they made things matter. Hero has been a master of building a match, and it wasn't any difference here. These guys had a real good chemistry. A great way to end the year.
  7. 7/31/16 Beyond Zach Sabre Jr. vs Jonathon Gresham 4 1/2* This is 2 out of 3 falls and the 3rd match in Beyond. I really liked the build in this. It had a real sports rivalry feel to it. ZSJ in particular had a spring in his work to say this is personal. I thought Gresham's strikes were really weak looking early in the match. They played off stuff in the previous matches. An example of this was in match 2 Gresham hit a rana on ZSJ. Here ZSJ sweeps the leg and Gresham takes a neck bump. This set up ZSJ just going after the neck the rest of the way. Gresham would hurt ZSJ leg and just destroy it. Both guys were focused on a target and went at it. Their was a physical story being told, along with a mental one. I loved this match. 4 1/2*
  8. I'm with you all about Cody and Bullet Club. I'd love Cody aligning himself with Sullivan. It's an angle that has a history.
  9. I gotta say all this Abdullah stuff was amazing. These clips all make Abby look like a dangerous ,crazy being out of control. This is the Abby I remember who terrified me as a kid whenever he was on my screen. He was the madman from the Sudam. The teasing of an Abby/Lothario match seems like an opportunity for an awesome match. Matt D and I were talking, and boy do we hope to get a payoff from all this goodness. JJ Dillon is fantastic in his role in these too.
  10. We get this amazing promo from JJ Dillon with Abby having his back to the camera. In the background their was this Abby bill board'. This really gets Abbyy over as special. This from Champion Carnival and it's one heck of a bloody brawl. I love JJ commentary while the match is going on.This didn't have any bells and whistles. Just hate. 3 1/2*
  11. 7/17/16 Beyond Zach Sabre Jr. vs Jonathan Gresham 4 1/2* I thought this was a mat classic. A match that focused on the little things that had big payoffs to those things. We some grappling early. With both guys shooting for position and an advantage. Both guys have a stronger focus than their last match here. I really liked how they set up Gresham's rana here, and they made it seem very important. ZSJ is on the arm and is doing a lot of good work to it. Gresham is also working the arm, and it's really nasty. I liked ZSJ selling of the arm. He did a good job of making it seem ruined. So ZSJ switched up his attack and started using leg kicks. I liked this part of the story a lot. Gresham kept the heat on the arm by throwing forearms at ZSJ arm. Another nice touch, on a nearfall ZSJ couldn't hook the leg with his bad arm. This was great.

  13. Wahoo vs Gary Young Young has always been a solid journeyman southern worker. Young is fun in the cat and mouse schtick. They have 2 rings to play with. I really liked Young's hand raising hijinks. Wahoo's overhead chop is so wicked. Young is really entertaining here. A fun underneath match.

  17. Taylor vs Gilbert These guys would have a fun run together as a pair of heels.Gilbert gets heat with his version of the Fargo strut. Taylor gets the early shine. Here we see them working holds early. Humperdink doing baseball signals during the bout. I loved the payoffs that were set up in the match.Gilbert works the neck. They're throwing hands down the stretch. Taylor with a 5 arm for the win. 2 3/4*

  19. Lane vs Gibson The history between Lane and Robert Gibson goes way back. So I was a little excited to see Lane work Ricky. This was a solid undercard match. They did some neat stuff that had payoffs. The guys did a good job engaging the crowd. Still their was some moments of eh. Still as an undercard bout it worked.

  21. My thoughts on it in the DVDVR secret nomination folder. Posted 09 January 2014 - 03:10 AM This is a No holds barred Teas Death Match. Holy crap was this a kick ass brawl. I've never heard anyone pimp this match and it's a great brawl. Easily Putski's greatest match ever. I'll give Larry credit because he took an ass kicking. This might have been the hottest I've heard the Philly crowd. Putski's brawling was focused and vicious. This reminded me of a Ronnie Garvin/Tully Blanchard fight. The finish was an eye rake by Larry and feet on the ropes for the 3 for the win. The announcers were awesome at the finish where they go it's no DQ so technically he didn't cheat. High end nomination
  22. This is the match we pimped on Titans a couple years ago. It was shockingly good.
  23. Tournament was incredible.
