  1. I went to this show as a kid with my brother. This is a cage match. I believe originally it Duggan vs Kamala with if Duggan wins he gets 5 minutes with Akbar. As a kid, my brother and I wanted Duggan to get that no good Akbar. I'm sure my brother and I called him much worse in real time. Bottom line this was worked spot on and super heated. Duggan took most of the match. Skandar used a foreign object to gain an advantage. Duggan gets it and uses his finisher on Akbar. Stuff like this I miss in my wrestling.
  2. Stallion is a good wrestler. I hope he goes far in the tournament. I think he could blossom into a Steve Corinio type worker .
  3. When I 1st saw that this was booked for 27 minutes I thought whoever booked it to go this long needed a psyche evaluation. Then I see the other ring is being worked on. So it's possible they went long to stall for time. Fall one was actually pretty solid. Though they did blow a shoulder block something fierce. I thought Madril's leg work was ok. The crowd brawling got over. Overall a solid 1st fall. The 2nd fall I dug the psychology for the most part. Krupp went for the stomach claw 3 times and Madril escaped 3 times. Krupp won the fall with a knee to the stomach. I think the fall would have worked better if Krupp won it with a stomach claw since he's being set up for a match with Fritz Von Erich. Fall 3 was a really long nerve hold that Krupp won with his feet on the rope. In a nice piece of booking David Von Erich gets the decision overturned. This helps with the Krupp/Fritz match. 1 1/2*

On the docket for tonight. -Fabulous Ones vs The Guerreroes 12/27/85 Pete keeps putting his foot in his mouth discussing the racial overtones. Johnny loving Paul's Boeschisms. -Mark Lewin vs Tor Kamata 10/26/79 -Jose Lothario/Halcon/Mil Mascaras vs Gino Hernandez/Gran Markus/Gran Goliath 10/26/79 -Jerry Lawler vs Masked Superstar 12/27/85 -Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs Buzz Sawyer Dog Collar Match 12/27/85
  6. Thanks, it's something that I was curious about.
  7. 11/5/16 NJPW Bushi vs Kushida 4 1/4* I really liked how this was worked. I liked how personal this felt. The crowd reaction really helped the theme of the match. This was in vain of the Liger/Sano feud.
  8. 10/16/16 Evolve Chris Hero vs Matt Riddle 4 1/4* Man the strikes in this were so brutal looking. I love Hero's work on top. Riddle had some really great hope spots. Riddle's comeback was tremendous. The finish was so well done. From the triangle into the piledriver. This had a real fight/battle feel to it.
  9. Great
  10. Lewin vs Kamata These guys are known for their bloodbaths. Here we get some good brawling. Kamata is bleeding a minute in. Seeing Kamata as a face was interesting. His comebacks were well timed. He sold underneath pretty well. I liked Lewin's chops to the cut. The nerve holds hurt the flow and momentum of the match. Both guys were guilty of this. On top of this the finish felt abrupt. 2 1/2* We got 3 interviews after this building a show in Beaumont Texas with Gary Hart,JJ Dillon, and Ox Baker. All 3 were good, but Baker's was the best.

  13. I had the match in the 4*-4 1/4* range.
  14. I absolutely loved the analysis of the match . My favorite part of wrestling is analyzing matches. It was very detailed and in my opinion totally on point. I thought for a 1st time show you had a good chemistry which I think will only grow in time. I liked that you picked a match that is fresh in everyone's mind to review for a pilot. The one thing I'd work on is the opening . I was confused. Were you guys giving us an origin of the idea of the show? I thought after hearing the open you guys were reviewing the Rey-Morrison match , and the match from the Puerto Rico set. To me though that is an easy fix. Overall guys I thought this was a good start. Looking forward to some deep dives on hidden treasures as well. As a guy on the feed color me impressed.
  15. So for sure hitting up Wrestle Circus in Austin, Texas on the 19th of November. In January I have Royal Rumble tickets in SAN Antonio. I'll be getting my Evolve tickets for that weekend tonight. Inspire pro is running Dec 18th and I'll get getting tickets to that.
  16. I like the reset idea.
  17. Fabs vs Chavo and Hector Guerrero This was just a great southern tag. The Guerreroes were the faces here. Their shine was really focused. They just dismantled Keirn and Lanes arm. This was done with vigor and purpose. The Fabs though eventually are able to bully their way into the corner for the tag and get the heat on the Guerreroes. The heat section is really well done. They used misdirection to the ref to get double teams on the faces. The Fabs used cheap shots. The crowd was going nuts here This was all really well done. Then they build to an absolutely great finish for a 1st match. 4*

  19. They did have a long run on the houseshows. They worked Houston twice in 6 months having good matches.
  20. This was a lot of fun. Boesch says this is Masked Superstar's debut in the area. It's more of a re debut. since he was in the area in 82. We get some early mat work with both guys trying to gain the advantage. They really get a lot out of Lawler trying to get a hammerlock. Lawler tries to go after the mask. This results in the Superstar fighting back. Then Lawler fires back with some really nice punches. Some more undoing of the mask. Lawler pulls the strap but gets cut off by the loaded mask. The ref overturns the decision once he sees the foreign object. This was fun, but feels they could have a great match if given 20 minutes or so. 2 3/4*
  21. Hacksaw Duggan vs Buzz Sawyer Dog Collar Match. This is a dog collar match and it's a fight. They're brawling in the ring, outside the ring. Big chain shots. One of my favorite spots is when Duggan is about to make a come back and Sawyer cuts him off with a chain right into Duggan's cut. A very nasty spot. Both guys are a bloody mess. The crowd is taken aback by the violence that it takes a bit for them to start rallying for Duggan. The chain shots to the body were great and you could believe Sawyer was internal bleeding. The finish was violent to a violent match. 4*

  23. I feel it's going to be a new Hacksaw vs Buzz match.
  24. http://placetobenation.com/this-week-in-wrestling-110616/ Fall 1 Pete and Johnny explain starting next week the falls are going to be broken into 3 parts and be released as 3 separate shows. They start with NWA ON Demand. They analyze a hardhitting match from 4/9/82 between Wahoo and Tully Blanchard. Then Pete runs down the ROH tv. Fall 2 Timothy joins Pete and they discuss Pete's trek at the Lucha Underground show in H-Town. Then they discuss the main event Pentagon Dark vs Mil Muertes that leaked online. Then they discuss the Lucha Underground tv. They rave about all the story and history in the main event of Rey and Chavo. Then they break down the current episode of CWF-Mid Atlantic. Then they discuss AAW Lyman night 2 with analysis and star ratings. Does Chris Hero get another MVP award for a tournament? We discuss his psychology and selling during a tournament. Fall 3 is all things WWE. -What caused Pete and Johnny to pop during table for 3. -Was Rusev wasted in the Goldberg angle on Raw? -The AJ-Ambrose feud. What makes it interesting?
  25. That's great. I ran into Rudy Boy Gonzalez the other day. So of course I start gushing to him about how awesome Jose has been on all these matches on the footage. He told me Dusty and Terry said he was the greatest ethnic working babyface that they had seen.
