  3. Before you "retire" as a fan, Jose... help Bix and Will with this Holy Grail Set: http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?showtopic=5283 John
  4. I don't recall saying this. Can you point me to a post or something so I can see what was said? John I went back and read the thread I was thinking of, and that's not what you were saying. My bad. Where is the thread? I'd be interested in reading what other stupid things I may have been saying at the time. John

  6. I suspect that basic traffic driven ad revenue hasn't matured to the point where it cares whether the traffic is "wrestling fans" or "tennis fans". Other than the monster sites, it's about driving traffic. Overhead is likely low. Looks to me like it's on Wade's sever/host, so it simply rolls into his existing hosting deal. Development costs likely are nil - Wade probably did it himself, if he's overtime learned how to do his own site (I sort of assume he has). On ads, every page is loaded through the moon on them. I'm not getting pop ups, but I don't know if that's my own settings of if they simply don't have them. I also don't think Jason is doing that as a fulltime income, which makes it's side income. So Wade may be looking at what "affiliate sites" off the Torch do as far as drawing in revenue and additional profit. Doesn't need to be much. John
  7. Haven't talked to Wade in a while, so don't know his concept here. But it looks to me like attempting to tap into two revenue streams. Why would Disney own ABC and ESPN when people watching ESPN won't be watching ABC at that time? There's plenty of audience and revenue from both. John
  8. I don't think it's too hard to figure out. Wade likely has some equity in it. John
  9. Now, now... that's an honorable cause. John
  10. One kind of wishes that when Dave talks about "I understand the idea is..." that he would also man up on the website to say "this sounds like a really bad angle to run". John
  11. In "PPV Main Events", one needs to take some care in assigning main events and double main events properly. Hogan vs. Rock was the main event of a Mania. Trip vs. Jericho was not. It wasn't even part of a double main event. It's the same thing with Budokan and Dome. Jumbo & Taue vs. Misawa & Kawada was the "semi" in 1991, while Hansen & Spivey vs. Gordy & Williams went on last. One could generously call it a double main. If you wanted to be more accurate, the natives were the main. The gaijin went on last because that's how Baba booked the outcome of the League. JOhn

  15. Cowboy the motherfuck up! I guess it's important to make them "rube answers". But perhaps the ones that apply to some of us: * I like the taste of beef * I like the taste of pork * I like the taste of chicken * I like the taste of fish * I like the taste of lamb * A nice greasey burger hits the spot * WTF would I want to eat tofu-based cheese and soy pepperoni when the real thing tastes fucking great * Popeye's chicken... yummy * Mmmmm.... steak The fuck? And eat that crap and miss out on Chipotle's tasty marinated Chicken, or marinated Asada, or that excellent Carnitas, or get that extra kick of the Barbacoa? Count me out. And yes... someone can reference this post when I keel over from clogged arteries. John
  16. Totally agree. Someone, likely Michael Hayes, was reading the WON or talking to Dave and came up with the idea. John
  17. 2008 Floyd Mayweather isn't remotely close to 1998 Mike Tyson. I'm not sure that 2008 Floyd is even 2008 Mike. If both were arrested today, who would be higher on Sports Center? It's a bit like the eye opening that Meltzer had after years of putting over Austin as being bigger than Hogan. Hogan gets divorced and it's a lead story. It dawns on him that hadn't been the case for Stone Cold. Tyson was boxing, even to people who didn't follow boxing. To a big chunk of the mainstream public, he still is boxing since he's one of the last guys they gave a shit about. Floyd is just a name to people who follow boxing, and even then a lesser star than ODLH. Tyson never was a lesser start than anyone. John
  18. Floyd isn't Tyson. And the yesterday's news Big Show isn't Austin entering his prime. If this doesn't tie into some fresher WWE star being helped to the next level, then it's just a jerk off. John
  19. That dose is what I was getting at. It will be interesting to see what Dr. Astin was write scrips for to Chris and Nancy going back several years, and not just what was found. They weren't taking a lightweight amount of drugs. We of course knew/know that. It's what Astin is going to get fucked in the ass over. He pretty much was running a drug pushing operation. John
  20. Then so much for there being therapeutic levels of Lorcet in the bodies. Can you think of any therapeutic prescription that would recommend a dosage of 35 tabs per day or day-and-a-half? Perhaps a cancer victim down the stretch, but they likely would give something else in a stronger mg dosage needing less tabs per taking. John
  21. I'm willing to bet that it was at the higher end of the per pill scale than the lower end. That the bodies were so far gone that definative tox wasn't possible to determin "in therapeutic levels" can be seen 35 of Benoit's tabs being gone in a *day*, possibly a day and a half. I can't think of any in therapeutic need where Benoit would need to pop 35 Lorcet tabs in a day. There was the note that Benoit doped up Daniel to put him out before killing him. I can't imagine Chris using enough Lorcets on Daniel that it would reduce the number of those 35 to what Chris himself took to be at a therapeutic need level. We know both of them were abusing painkillers and other drugs at above therapeutic levels. Both had built up their tolerances to painkillers to a great deal. John
  22. Nancy died on June 22, 2007. Scrips for hydrocodone (marketed under Lorcet brand and also Vicodin) and what was taken: May 30: 120 / 120 taken June 9: 120 / 120 taken June 19: 120 / 38 taken 278 hydrocodone/lorcet taken from roughly May 30 to June 22. Roughly 11-12 a day. I'm guessing a 2 every 4 hours type of scrip to justify refilling that every 10 days. Post surgery 2 every 4 hours of something like this isn't out of the ordinary... but an unending supply is some serious shit. For Chris: June 8: 120 / 120 taken June 22: 120 / 35 taken With Chris, lord knows what else he may have obtained on the road and dumped on the road. He clearly chumped a boatload in his final day+ of life. 35 on the day he killed Nancy on through the period he killed Daniel and then himself. John
  23. That's right... and Lance ruled. John

  25. Jim was overexposed... but to a degree it was half acceptable: (a) Tony bailed at some point in 1989. Probably clear to him that Ross was moving ahead of him... Ross was probably more of an office politician than Tony was at that point. Vince also probably made Tony the usual promises that never would come true. ( While the rest of the announcers weren't shitty (well... Gordon sucked cock at that point), Bob Caudill was getting phased down... and the company didn't really have good fallback's I think Ross probably had a streak in him in this period of not hiring someone who could take his spot. So instead he was more than happy to hang onto the non-threatening Bob Caudill's of the world or throw a bone to the drunken Gordon. Given that, I could see rolling out Ross a crapload. One of the other problems is that syndication and other nonsense meant that they put out more TV than they probably needed and should have. TBS also added shows as well, and Jim was in the middle of them. It would have been best to get a decent #2 if they were thinking of phasing Bob out. John
