  1. Probably too hopeful for reality, but maybe the Network can weed this stuff out from their two flagship shows.
  2. I hated him too at the time but hindsight being what it is I can appreciate what he accomplished. Plus he gave us this moment. The timeline of how Percy came in was interesting. Percy credited Rick Rude for getting them interested in him and allowing him to get a foot in the door, but Rick was gone by the time Taker started. Giving him Brother Love must have been a stop-gap while they figured out his contract, if I had to guess.
  3. Piper's Pity: The Flavorless Wad That Is WWE Nostalgia Interesting point of view on the company's use of older stars and how it's both devaluing them and the current guys.
  4. But they still called him Hulk.
  5. Does Bryan/HHH go first? I imagine it would have to be at least early enough in the card to give Daniel (or HHH, haha) a rest before the end of the show. My prediction for Undertaker/Brock isn't too far off from Loss', I think it'll be relatively shorter compared to the matches with Shawn, Trips and Punk recently.
  6. I'll never understand why they continued to call him "Hollywood" and used the Hendrix music in 2002-3, well after he went back to the red and yellow.
  7. So Toronto would have been '84? And how long did that last up to?
  8. As a loyal WCW fan, I have to say that would have been depressing as hell to see happen.
  9. Both from the Spectrum, and from the looks of the '78 card more edits. I know they started having cards from MSG on TV in '73, but when did they start doing that in Philly and Boston?
  10. Other than WrestleMania V, were there any Piper's Pit segments during Roddy's 2nd run?
  11. Unfortunately they got a lot more.
  12. PSH actually would have made a great Bobby Heenan, too.
  13. I wonder how much of that was WCW being a semi-regional promotion at the time. They visited St. Petersburg more often than Vince, which makes me think each city had a more localized vibe if that makes sense.
  14. Have to admit I don't like this cover. I understand the rainbow sherbet phase of his career was when he was the most popular, but I preferred the color schemes he had after beating Hogan.
  15. I'd imagine it's a mutual decision. It would be awkward to see him in character at an event like this, and it would kind of dilute the special nature of the event. I think if he'd stayed with the biker gimmick, then he probably would have attended and inducted by now.
  16. Just watched the "Outside the Ring" segment of Cena on ESPN. Is it fair to say that they've never had a better spokesman then him? I remember seeing him on Larry King after the Benoit thing and while I don't remember the finer points of what he said, his manner kind of blew me away after years of watching Vince more or less making an ass of himself on television.
  17. They should save something silly like that for the following Monday, since the (likely inebriated) crowd will eat it up and make for great television.
  18. I bet Shawn inducts Scott.
  19. I'm torn between hoping this is a work and that he makes a grand return in New Orleans, and hoping it isn't and that we'll get some damned good shoot interviews out of this.
  20. For sake of argument, if he's under the ring, how does he get there?
  21. They had the infamous Piper's Pit with Snuka on the other night. People remember it mostly for the coconut blast, but Roddy comes across as a real racist asshole in his verbiage and abuse. It never fails to amuse me when Jimmy takes the big fall and destroys the set.
