Someone is going to use that line eventually.

Not at all. I don't know if they do it every year but they should. I missed the segment, is it just going to be for New Orleans or is it going to be an annual thing?

He put over Mark Henry too right?

Someone on Twitter tonight said he could return to WrestleMania, and compete in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal as Pepsi Machine.

To be honest I think Buff's not doing too bad either. Did you see his rates? -
I don't watch the show, but I imagine (unlike the Vick angle) that there is a point and a reason for it on the show.

Help me out here. This, the aforementioned bash 92, etc - these are shown on the live stream as filler before the next scheduled program begins? They show matches and segments as filler. Yesterday I saw Taka Michinoku vs. Brian Christopher from the last In Your House show, and the weird-ass segment with Jake and The Ultimate Warrior today. The Raw I mentioned is programming, but I'm not sure if it's the whole episode. I think it's 90 minutes without commercials except whatever ads they ran, so it could be the whole thing.

They have Better Call Saul coming in November. That's more of a no-brainer for them since it's following in the steps of the great success that was BB. It could be very appealing to AMC at this point to have 4-5 hours of high-rated programming, whether or not it originated with them. Whether WWE thinks it works for them is another matter though. Like I said, they have barely any live programming let alone something that would pre-empt WWE on Monday and Friday nights.

Now that I think about it, AMC would actually be the best choice for them. McMahon doesn't want to be trumped by other live programming like sporting events or award shows. I think the only live programming AMC has ever done were the chat shows following The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad.

Dwayne also saw his father go from bringing the people on their feet at MSG to toiling in obscurity, so he knew full well how the business chewed people up and spit them out before he even put on a pair of trunks. And surely Punk has seen it happen with his own eyes, so he knew the score as well. Plus he seems the type to have wanted to burn out than fade away, so I think the Chicago show and the company's reaction are vindication enough that he left a mark.

Got to admit I'm not as bowled over by these WrestleMania Rewind specials as everyone else seems to be here. Some of the inside stuff is cool, but is basically common knowledge to anyone as well-read as some of us are on that period of their history. Someone said it's like 30 For 30, I think it's more like one of those where the only talking head is Chuck Klosterman.

Crazy as it sounds, I could see AMC getting Raw and Smackdown.

How is the Network going to affect WWE Home Video?
flyonthewall2983 replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Pro Wrestling
Added to which they have matches on there which have been on previous releases. They don't mine too deep with respect to WCW material, or even their own sometimes (like the MSG disc). -

You have no idea how sad I am to hear this. I loved Kurt Angle in WWE, even when I hated him. -

My problem with their WCW releases is that they seem to think they have to be comprehensive in their coverage, meaning that they seem to think those last 2+ years are worth covering. There is no real reason that triple-cage Russo fuck-up belongs on a War Games compilation with the matches from the 80's or the ones in '92 and '94. That sucks about the Blu-ray not taking off. As a format I much prefer it to DVD, but I understand the tendency to move towards the latter. -
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/WCWs-Greatest-Pay-Per-View-Matches-Volume-1-Blu-ray/93770/#Review This release seems very redundant given the Network's launch. I'm just wondering who the remaining audience will be for their archive releases like this now.

Johnny B Badd / Marc Mero... Time to Revisit his Career
flyonthewall2983 replied to goodhelmet's topic in The Microscope
True, but I'm sure not everybody got that. I'm surprised it never was an issue. I really thought he was black until I saw his RF interview and it became clear to me he wasn't. -
WWE Network version has the old WM music back in at the end.

Okay, now they are showing the Raw before WM 17...and it's rated TV-PG
-
Agreed, now they're showing Bruno on Piper's Pit at MSG.
-
^ Yes. It would be too overwhelming, and they need to do something to keep the interest fresh so I don't mind this approach at all. They are showing Sting/Vader from GAB '92 right now, which is interesting. Have they shown matches between programming before?

help me make a wwe network playlist for a casual friend
flyonthewall2983 replied to efrim's topic in Pro Wrestling
Absolutely. I have somewhat fond memories of those shows though I didn't watch them live (bought them on VHS a couple of years later) and enjoy them now as much as I did. Almost even more so now, now that WWE Network is showing the live feed as opposed to the Home Video edits. -
