  1. It was a little more one sided then the Casket match, but it was still pretty fucking great.
  2. The Corino v. Homicide match from 8/16/03 is the big obvious missing match from Paul's list. Maybe my favorite live ROH match I saw.
  3. The Atlanta singles match between Santo and Parka which Kris, Tomk and I saw live was even better then the Monterey one, such a bummer that footage is sitting in Gary Juster's closet somewhere.
  4. Masaji Aoyagi v. Jushin Liger NJPW 6/12/90-EPIC A real example of the kind of match Aoyagi does as well as anyone in wrestling history. This is worked rounds, but is less like a UWF style shootfight and more like a toughman contest. They build the tension in the first couple of round with Aoyagi throwing kicks and Liger delivering some really powerful double leg takedowns. In the end of the second round Aoyagi rips Ligers mask and Liger comes out maskless in the third round and flips the fuck out. He takes Aoyagi down and splitsis melon with some nasty headbutts and we get a wild awkward brawl, with crazed Liger and Aoyagi with a blood colored Gi. A great spectacle which is what you want it to be
  5. As someone who was on the selection committee for Mid-South and thus watched every match available on tape, DiBiase was helped a lot by the selection process. There were a bunch of super disappointing DiBiase matches left on the cutting room floor, where it was just chinlock, armbar, loaded glove. He was a guy that I never wanted to watch again after putting the set together, which wasn't true about most of the other guys on that set.
  6. Reviewed it on Segunda Caida back in March, here are my thoughts I have a flight in the morning. I was about to go to bed when this bombshell drops on my youtube feed. If the date on this is correct this is not only the earliest Satanico match we have on tape, this is Sangre the day after taking MS1's hair in maybe the greatest wrestling match of all time, working a dramatic lucha title match. This isn't a TV match, it is filmed like a close up HH, possibly by an infant Black Terry Jr., we get some great close ups of the struggle in each hold, and when Satanico torches Chicana with a tope into a light poll, we get a close up at the glazed and bloody face of Chicana, it actually looks like his eye is swollen shut. The third fall was pretty dramatic with Chicana surviving several submissions before coming back and getting a revenge tope. Finish was a double pin, and a bit of a cop out, to what had the feel of a budding classic. We do get a couple of minutes of post match brawling which were as great as you might expect. Maybe a step below an absolute classic, but a hell of a late night treat.
  7. I think his best opponent is either Maeda or Choshu, Maeda is basically inventing shootstyle, and those matches have intricate submissions, big time violence and great drama. The Choshu matches are basically the two of the most charismatic wrestlers in history having a big time main event. Like Hogan v. Rock if they were great in ring wrestlers Before 1984 he spent a lot of time in Europe, no footage so far. I wouldn't call Takada or Sayama dogshit, but I don't think either of them are very good, and Fujiwara had some stone cold classics against them,he had a great match against 1997 Abby. A really good match against Fred Hammeker a dutch kickboxer clearly didn't real know how to work. I would say 89-90 during his UWF2 run was his peak, but he was really great from mid 80s all the way to mid 90s for sure, and was still having EPIC stuff in the last coupe lof years
  8. The only really guys unsigned on the indies I see with real star charisma are Eddie Kingston and Nick Gage, and I can't imagine a show built around them although I would watch every second
  9. As my man Tomk pointed out on Twitter, this is a fed with Moolah, Snuka and Tyson in their hall of fame.
  10. That board is a sewer, they aren't too far removed from having an entire long running thread of child porn.
  11. Needs more Shank and Iceberg
  12. I thought the three way trios portion was pretty bad, Killshot is fucking awful and was in the match way too much, also Angelico was full on Shawn Micheals crawling and crying selling. The section with the Crew was pretty great, and the Angelico dive was the greatest balcony dive in wrestling history, but considering how terrible Pentagon Jr. v. Sexy Star was, I didn't even think this was an above average LU show
  13. Don't just post links, tell me what was on them

He has to watch the bad to appreciate the good
  15. For those who don't know, Shank was a babyface wrestler working a convict gimmick who would threaten to rape his opponents.
  16. Give me a quick summary of the show. Is there a Shank promo?
  17. I was listening to a tour audio https://soundcloud.com/robert-risperdal-wright/easter-mountain-goats-concert And he plays the Hard Times promo as his walkout music. Seeing him in DC Wednesday, over the moon excited

  23. I don't think that is true at all. I have 13 Regal matches at Epics in my C+A Regal, and that is without reviewing a bunch more which I know would make the cut, I can really only think of 3 or 4 EPIC HHH matches
  24. Out of those matches, what wasn't previously out there?
