Steph's 9/11 transcript has been covered, but since I don't believe any exist for HHH's speech on Owen (CRZ didn't transcribe any of the tributes of that show), here's a video with the first group of them: Hunter's (not including Chyna's) goes from about 5:50 to 8:35.

Who's also married and has one daughter, if memory serves.

Most of the time, with respect to guys on the current roster, WWE will release DVD sets of those who are babyfaces. Edge was an exception. I can't remember if Kane was face or heel when his set came out. Of course, Batista's was released and THEN they turn him heel. I'd have to check Graham's site for previous releases, but if memory serves, that's the general pattern, with some exceptions (heck, they threw in a McMahon DVD during the DX feud). Of course, because of those exceptions, no reason not to fit Jericho in there somewhere.
-
Jericho looks completely fucked on Raw. Right now, he'd be at best the #3 heel behind Sheamus and Edge, and that assumes Batista really won't stick around past the next PPV. I can see him very easily being lost in the upper midcard shuffle feuding with MVP and Henry on Raw, or worse, being turned babyface when he still has a good deal of momentum as a heel. You're also forgetting about Miz, who feels far fresher than Jericho right now and is arguably higher in the pecking order too.

Similar to the situation with Jericho's return, did HHH not hope that Bret Hart's storyline with Vince would fail? Because of that, anyone else amused by the cover of the upcoming WM26 DVD? (The original advertising poster had HHH along with Cena, Batista, Taker and Shawn. The DVD has the four main matches on the cover: HBK-Taker, Cena-Batista, Jericho-Edge and Hart-McMahon. No HHH.)

It's on the set that I have. Perhaps we have different productions of the DVD.

Fuck, that's like the equivalent of Vince convincing a wrestler with a bad character and not much of a push he doesn't want to stick around by promising a World title run down the road.

Dave's far from the only person I've heard the "twittering" mis-description (for lack of a better term) from.

What were the legal letters Meltzer used to get pertaining to? I'm assumed Meltzer *didn't* threaten any physical harm, let alone death, to anyone in particular, or gave any indirect impression of that, either.

4/18/05 RAW? -
Yeah, I credit the pop HHH got at SS98 an awful lot to the Rock, among other things. Not to say HHH didn't do his part, but Rock was really coming into form at another level. I was in university at the time, and friends of mine either liked the Rock or hated him (and those who actually hated him used every poisonous word to describe him, too). There wasn't nearly the same level of discussion for HHH. That match, if memory serves, was built around Rock's side heavily cheating, including Mark Henry's assistance. Don't forget, part of the story was Henry hitting on Chyna, leading to the fanbase begging for Chyna to give Henry his. For the most part, both played the roles fairly well, and I'm no fan of Chyna and this was before Henry probably was coming into his own. That part, Rock's antics and Chyna's good timing (for her, anyway) of her interference of Rock probably contributed to HHH's big pop as much as anything HHH did, if not more.

Brain: "This just proves one thing about Bret Hart." Gorilla: "What's that, Brain?" Brain: "Wrestling is the second worst thing he does." Gorilla: "WILL YOU STOP?!" This one has the old Bret Hart highlight package shown on TV at the time:

Just to back you up, here are hate crime statistics in Canada from 2006 (it isn't just Alberta, as you can see, although Calgary is a big focal point): http://www.statcan.gc.ca/pub/85f0033m/85f0...2008017-eng.pdf Key stat to note (albeit there are many interesting ones) is that 1 in 10 hate crimes in Canada are related to sexual orientation. It ain't necessarily paradise up here either. -
They had a match on PPV in 2003 I think, but that was before Cena became the man. Yeah, it was Vengeance 2003.

Is DDP in decent enough shape these days? We need a REMATCH!

I can believe the RAW number. I don't recall much hype for the show going in aside from Pete Rose as guest host and the handicap tag match.

2003-4? You guys mean this video, right? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jzFC0RcefS8 -
Didn't know which thread to use, since there's two of them, but anyway, the HMV here in Canuck-land is actually displaying this as a FOUR disc set, as opposed to a three disc one: http://www.hmv.ca/Products/Detail/563315.aspx It could very well be an error in their database (heck, they had that John Morrison set as a 3-disc one for a while), but at the same time, the price is also higher than for other three disc sets. I'm, of course, hoping it's NOT an error, and instead am hoping that the bonus fourth disc is something like the Canadian Stampede PPV or somesuch.

Entertaining, but also strange. I have a copy of Big Dave's book and not once do I believe he said he didn't learn anything from OVW. In fact, he lists a few things he did learn, and was overall appreciative of his time in OVW, and also appreciative of Cornette himself. Whole thing feels weird.

It has been, but (as a Canadian) also allow me to shed some light: CTV desperately wanted to out-bid CBC for the rights, what with it being games in Canada and all. So, in order to do so, they teamed up with TSN (the guys who used to have RAW, and who CTV is affiliated with anyway) and Rogers Sportsnet (one of TSN's sporting competitions). On top of that, you had RDS (a French sports network), and a number of different multicultural channels based in Canada as part of the bid (OMNI, APTN, etc.). I might be missing something, but they ponied up enough dough and had enough viewability to win the rights over. That's a lot of networks, plus the main guys, as I said, were CTV, TSN, and Rogers Sportsnet. They've effectively put on the stuff Canadians would care about most on CTV, and the two sports networks pick up the rest (and I doubt sports networks as a whole would mind). Plus, it's been moreless all-day coverage. I can go on and on, but they've put everything into it, because it's the first Canadian-based Games since '88. Guess the point I'm getting at is due to what they've put in, the coverage BETTER be good. I'm not complaining, as it's been great viewing, but I don't know if NBC has the onus on it for good coverage as CTV & Co. do up here. -

I'm in a similar boat as Dylan. My low point was probably in the middle part of the decade, when I had absolutely zero interest in the product at all. At the time, my attitude was "Well, I've seen all my favourites do what they wanted to do and what I wanted them to do, what else is there to watch?". I sorta regret it because I skipped out on a lot of stuff in '05 that I like today (Eddie-Rey, Edge-Hardy, etc.). That's sort of been a contributing factor as to why I still watch the current product today: You never know what you're missing. Other reasons include upping my TV plan. I finally have joined the world of HD, but not only that, my increased plan included the TV channel which shows some old St. Louis and Memphis highlights as well. If I don't have time to watch them all, no problem, just a quick PVR task to keep them until I have time to watch. The plan also includes HDNet, which means trying to get into ROH more (although, that said, footage on YouTube has taught me that promotion had better days before, but there's still some stuff I'm enjoying of it today). And even if RAW or Smackdown is shit, it's easier to watch on HD. I'm superficial, like the guy who dates the most uninteresting women only because they're hot. Similar also to Dylan's case, my live-in girlfriend has become a fan and, upon learning about things like the Attitude era, enjoys the current era more because it's better for kids and families. She also has a good number of favourites, so it's not hard to watch with her. Aside from hockey, she probably watches it more than any other sport I watch heavily. We've gone to one live show, and have been to a few PPVs at a local movie theatre (cheaper than ordering them). So yeah, I guess I'm still into it. I don't watch TNA, though.

That reminds me of the Hogan-Sarge WM7 match... After a two-count for Slaughter: Heenan: You know, in Iraq, you only have to count to 2. Monsoon: Well, we're not in Iraq!
