  1. Watch Raw and Smackdown and tell me if they are in a position to not take them back.
  2. I always thought it would be more in character for Heenan to praise Hogan and the nWo. Hes a weasel, what is more weaselly than sucking up to a guy you hated for years because you think he has the power.
  3. On a fancam there is a Sheepherders vs Chris Chetti and Jerry Lynn match. They fit in really well with the Dudleys act and I wish they had stuck around ECW longer. They coulda bullshitted their way thru ECW brawls easy.
  4. Maeda won a title in MSG? I thought he hated the WWF for the time he worked as a job guy there.
  5. I saw this Sheepherders squash on an episode of NWA Pro. They worked exactly like they did as the Bushwhackers but it was not like the Bushwhackers at all. They seemed like the scariest guys in the world. Which I found impressive.
  6. Everybody knows Gang was great. They even put him over big time on one of those legend round table shows.
  7. Non title
  8. He was back in the WWF briefly in 96. Long enough to feud with Ahmed Johnson.
  9. He was also really good in WCW. Watching some Power Hours from 91 and he was not out of place mixing it up with the Horsemen.
  10. Thinking of that sketch on SNL about people who ruin things for everyone. WWE is gonna go into code nerf now.
  11. Masters was already good by 06/07 he improved rapidly from the time he debuted til he got fired the first time. Right now he has Lex Luger syndrome. Every week he was just now improving. With Luger it started at the point he beat Nikita for the U.S belt. Masters will probably never get the proper acknowledgment since he is stuck on the C show.

    Goldust

Dustin was doing good work in 2001 WCW. Had a good tv match with Rick Steiner and at Superbrawl Revenge. One of the few matches Steiner had where he was not trying maim the guy he was working. I'm a big fan of the match he had with Val Venis at Breakdown 98. He was working as a different character than Goldust but not really Dustin Rhodes either. He wrestles as clean a style as possible with no punches or uppercuts. Val keeps getting the better of him with cheap shots. Dustin gets mad and starts punching Val only to stop himself and get hit by another cheap shot by Val again. On its own a really good match and even better at setting up the return of Goldust.
  13. I saw this on the Jake dvd and thought it was a good match. Jake is the one who really gets it over. He has a desperation to his selling that made me wish he could win.
  14. The difference between the WWF and the NWA at that time was not everyone was involved in a feud. So when guys were wrestling on TBS if they did not have an issue they talked about the wrestler and the match. If he had a feud or story they put it over. One thing about wrestling in the 80s was there was something for everybody. The big promotions provided different things.
  15. Lex Luger was in one match and he improved so much in nine months. Watching his first appearance in January and he seems awkward and he has a hard time getting a jobber up in the torture rack. Fast forward to September and he can do it all. Good on promos, oozing personality and good in the ring. But I think you would have to work not to improve working with the Horsemen. I watched an episode of NWA Pro with the Midnight Rider debut. It was way more over than I heard. I can imagine why some would hate it as the entire show had everybody talking about the Rider. But the big angle of the Rider trying to lynch Tully and JJ getting a posse of all the heels was great. If they had to kill it suddenly they should of unmasked the Rider and revealed him to be Dirty Rhodes. Just to give some closure.
  16. The shows I'm watching have had mostly extended squashes and competitive matches. One week had all Horsemen (minus Flair) matches. Arn had a really good match with Mike Jackson with Arn using the spine buster (not named that yet) as a flash finisher like the Diamond Cutter. The main event of the Windhams vs Midnights did disappoint me and in 87 I know it would of pissed me off. The match was like a 2000 Nitro main event. They go two minutes like it will last awhile then all of a sudden it breaks down. But I know if every wrestling show could be as good as the TBS show in 87 I would be happy.
  17. Fans always bought Matt wrestling main eventers up to when he left. They would pop for his moves and buy his near falls. What other mid card act has that going for them?
  18. While I'm here. What exactly did people hate about the NWA TBS show in 87? Watching it on 24/7 and the last month of shows have been great.
  19. Credibility still matters in wrestling even in a fictional context. You still need to buy what is happening. You could not just have David Spade be this badass beating up Sylvester Stallone. You would not be able to buy it. I don't have a problem with Miz he has been pushed for years now and I think they took a lot of the reality tv stink off him. The problems with WWE go a lot deeper than Miz being champion.
  20. He was injured and need surgery when he debuted. So with that momentum he had to take off right after this. In his shoot he says he wishes he had told Vince he could not start til Wrestlemania.
  21. They did that a year before with Bob Holly and Jeff Jarrett.
  22. I loved every Luger/Giant match. They had a good dynamic. I think maybe because if against a big guy Lex was good at playing an underdog. While being strong enough and credible enough to toss Giant around when he needed to.
  23. I like this match okay but the best match at House Party 96 was the Konan/Sandman match.
  24. A few of the matches are bad but the good makes up for it. I can gurrantee if Crockett's arena show were taped they would have just as many outright bad matches.
