Also TK came out and had the crowd do various chants to be captured for the video game. He called it AEW Fight Forever, which I don't recall being publicly announced. Bubba @KawadaSmile would have loved how coked out he looked while doing this, and it made me realize he's probably a dude who acts goofy when he gets excited.

I just got back from the show, and holy shit what a blast it was. First, I was in the long ass line for a hot dog and a diet Pepsi during the Dark Evolution tapings. QT Marshall came out and I was feeling pretty good with my decision to be in line at that point when FUCKING MINORU FUCKING SUZUKI came out as his opponent. The girl behind me completely lost her shit marking out over it. There was a funny moment when the tech guys were setting up Penta's tombstone gimmick before his match and Justin Roberts was like "so who do you guys think is coming up next?" Tony Schiavone told us all to chant CM Punk to open the show, which turned out to be unnecessary as him coming out was probably the loudest crowd pop I've been a part of. The last time AEW was here it was a week before Punk's debut and it was like the crowd was more pent up than Veer. Dustin is amazing to watch in person, pretty sure he got the ref to bite that he was hurt for real as he was checking on him outside the ring multiple times, he was so good the crowd kinda turned heel on CM Punk a little, they at least were kinda hoping Dustin would win while realizing that probably wasn't going to happen. Sammy and Tay are going to be an amazing heel act. He's so good at being a douchebag, Dan Lambert was getting huge babyface reactions. PVZ smashing them is going to get over huge. It's amazing we had Darby in a coffin match and the most HOLY SHIT spot of the match was Sting doing another balcony dive. That was quite a sight to see in person.

Yeah the only time Vince ever cared about tag teams is when they were running A, B, and C tours at the same time and needed to fill all those cards.
-
Funny how Vince is on another NO REAL NAMES!!! kick but your NXT champ is out here using his real first name.
-
either Nattie is way shorter than I realized or Nikkita is way taller.
-
Grimes/Melo/Baby Uso three way? I'm here for it.
-
lol at Tony Baggadonuts sending his boys after Santos (I'm guessing that's who those dudes were)

Someone really needs to do a deep dive on why WWE always seems to want to give gimmicks to Asians that portray them as childlike.
-
Conversely, one of the lessons Vince learned was to not overpay talent because the competition will fall apart and everyone will come crawling back. That's the reason Brock kept getting Brock Money because he was able to play WWE and UFC off each other to maximize his earnings. I'm thinking when AEW gets paid bigger money on their next TV deal (which all signs point to that happening unless disaster strikes), then I can see WWE considering them a competitor that isn't just going to go away and then start offering bigger money deals to folks not at the tippy top.
-
I believe at the time the report was FTR was offered deals of $800k-$1million to stay with WWE when their deals were up since it was no secret they had one foot out the door the last few months they were there. Unless Vince is willing to pony up Brock level money I don't see it happening. (and I know Vince has the means to offer them that kind of money but I don't see him wanting to blow up his own pay scale when he really doesn't have any use for tag team specialists)
-
I'm sure there's a lot of folks who have been toiling on Dark/After Dark who would probably be interested in seeing if the grass is greener on the other side, but FTR has been there and done that so I don't see them having any interest in going back there. WWE gets the same mentality I see in Yankee fans where they think every star player will end up on their team eventually, and while it certainly happens frequently it's not a lock that everyone who's looking for a fresh start will want to go there. Especially now when they are even further narrowing their already slim window of who they think can be a star.

I'll be at Dynamite tomorrow, and they are doing photos with Sammy and Tay before the show if you bring in a pack of diapers to benefit a local charity. Not gonna lie, I'm considering getting a pic with PWO's favorite couple
-
Fightful reporting WWE has interest in getting FTR back, which makes sense since they are hot right now, but I don't see them wanting to go back to a place that doesn't give a shit about tag team wrestling unless they get an absolutely stupid money offer. Also unlike Cody it's all but assured AEW will be exercising the year option on them.
-
The way things are now, even if he did get called up, he'd 100% end up with the 24/7 geeks anyway.
-
Yeah tonight was fine. They delivered everything they advertised, which a minor miracle with WWE these days.
-
Pretty Deadly are great and their gimmick is something wrestling has missed for a while, but I shudder to think what the dinosaurs in WWE Creative will come up with for them.

ADRENALINE, IN MY SOUL WE GET TO DO THIS SONG AGAIN WOOOOOOOOOOAH OOHHHHH
-
Even something like Rhea/Liv where they don't expressly say it but it's clear what's going on would be nice to see.
-
Clearly WWE has a massive sapphic audience that is being underserved in a big way.
-
Sasha and Naomi probably wondering what the fuck did they do to have to be part of a segment with the 24/7 geeks.
-
R Truth is honestly a GOAT, he's been able to do this so consistently for literal decades.
-
I know Finn was getting paid way more than everyone else when he was in NXT, but he's got to be wondering if it's not time to go back to New Japan at this point.
-
Fightful just posted that Kushida has left WWE
-
lighting in that promo made Edge look like emaciated Triple H
-
Edge tying in this current gimmick in to his Brood/Ministry of Darkness character is the most long term storytelling WWE has done in years.
