WWE TV 10/18 - 10/24 Did you know Rod Stewart plagiarized a Brazilian artist?
sek69 replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
What's funny is Vic Joseph had that weird statement on NXT last week which seemed to be addressing the audience complaints (using pointedly non WWE lingo like audience instead of "WWE Universe") and pledging to do better, they literally just kept doing the same old bullshit. WWE seems to honestly think if they acknowledge fan complaints but never actually do anything about them then it will solve the complaints. Dave went on a "I'm not mad, I'm disappointed" style rant on WOR last night/this morning about how someone needs to have the balls to tell Vince this shit isn't working but no one will because they fear losing their jobs. This seems to hammer home how vital Pat Patterson was to the company. He seems to have been the only person who was able to give honest criticism that Vince would A: listen to and B: not fire him over it. No one exists like that in today's WWE so nothing will ever change. -

Considering how Vince reacts when people who talk shit have it blow up in their face (hi Paul!), I wonder if this will end up having negative effects on the Big Dawg. -
That's interesting, I always thought UWF was a breakaway from New Japan. I wonder why Vince would make a deal like that when presumably his main focus was national expansion.

You could make a strong case that Rock was even more of a dickhead after turning face, he'd even go out of his way to humiliate whatever backstage geek was interviewing him, Also this. So much this. Even when WWE does something cool, they almost always make me feel like an asshole for even caring about it in the end. -
Yeah but I thought "UWF" wasn't a thing at that time and Shinma was president due to New Japan and WWF working together. I never heard of there being a UWF until Maeda and pals broke off from New Japan. In fact Hisa's site has the belt on this show as the same lineage as the second one you linked.

Don't forget they were also trying to make her a heel when Nia broke her face, until the image of her all bloody made her a complete badass babyface to the fans. This all just smacks of Vince making sure he gets what he wants in the end no matter if the fans want it or not. -

God, they're gonna do the lame ass "champs switch belts because they switched brands" deal again aren't they? -
So they just dropped some 1984 MSG shows, and the 3/25 show they have Akira Maeda (!!) winning the final of what I'm sure is a fictitious tournament for the WWF International Heavyweight Championship, the thing is the belt clearly has UWF in the center which surprised me since I was under the impression that wasn't a thing that existed until later.

She was basically female Stone Cold in that she was a heel to other heels and was arguably the #1 most popular person on the roster. -

Remember when everyone lost their minds at WWE turning Becky heel and got immediately admonished because "Becky wanted to be a heel"? She mentioned in an interview she did with Ryan Satin that they called her and told her she would be returning as a heel. So yeah, making the fans believe their stupid ideas are actually coming from the talent is definitely A Thing now. -

Gotta love Omos learned a cool move and the production team went out of their way to not show it. -

Hey if he gets his usual check for going to those shows, it's not a bad gig. -

Roman talking all that good shit and his segment got beat by Ruby. -
Seems like more folks still under the influence of WWE Brain thinking the only way to book a red hot babyface is to beat them and beat them and beat them until they are nothing special.

The numbers came out and Smackdown and Rampage both got a 0.24 in the demo so that's another WWE ploy to fuck with AEW that failed. I can't wait for Vince to *really* dig into his playbook and send Roman and the Usos to the site of an AEW taping in a tank. -

Sounds like you have a lot of pent up TNA rage, which is probably a pretty common issue lol. -

Funny thing about that is I thought WWE kept all the titles to avoid this sort of thing from happening. -

Roman finally being seen as a top guy without backlash with the fans is all the elevation WWE was looking for, tbh. -
That actually would be pretty cool if the capper to the "Arn beats the weakness out of Cody" angle ends up being him snapping and murdering someone beloved like Punk.
-
Also while I get why he did it (especially considering the major criticism leveled about his dad), but barring himself from ever challenging for the world title was probably AEW's biggest misstep since it took him out of the main event picture permanently.
-
It's a term people coined to describe how everything Cody does seems to be completely in its own universe disconnected from everything else going on in AEW.
-
Basically it's the US title as JCP booked it, either held by the #2 guy in your company or someone you want to strap the rocket to.
-
The obvious answer to "why isn't *X* in this tournament" of course is Tony doesn't want top level guys taking unnecessary Ls. He clearly has things mapped out and unlike certain other major US wrestling companies, doesn't want to beat folks he has other plans for.
