  1. The gradual "are we really going to fucking do this?" look descending across Sonya's face was something.
  2. Holy shit, it looked like everyone realized halfway through that segment what a horrible idea it was for everyone involved.
  3. I love that they apparently have to spend so much time teaching people all the weird WWE bullshit they don't have enough time to teach them how to actually wrestle.
  4. Also I figured it out, Joe Gacy is totally the youth pastor you're 100% not shocked about when he gets arrested for some kind of underage sexual contact deal.
  5. Cora Jade is like if Kylie Rae decided to jack Darby's gimmick.
  6. So the Khans probably have their hands full right now, as Jags coach Urban Meyer is full on setting his career on fire in full view of the public. Their big splash hire for a coach quickly turned out to be another "top level asshole college coach who couldn't hack it in an environment where the world didn't revolve around him" case and was seen after the lastest loss at a steakhouse he owns checking the oil of some random chick who was decidedly not his wife. Considering his whole gimmick was being some high paragon of morality (which everyone knew was bullshit, but pretended wasn't the case) this has pushed the Jags from "average bad football team you have no reason to care about" to "complete clown shoes operation that causes secondhand embarrassment". Shad's already had to put out a statement that would came off sounding like someone who had to stage an intervention after finding his buddy passed out for the million time, so I wonder how much time Tony's had to spend on the ol' handegg team this week.
  7. I would have lost my mind if Bron had come out and been like "TOMASSO, YOU HAVE A 33.3% CHANCE OF WINNING...."
  8. I'm now convinced Von Wagner is actually the Great Khali's kid. The resemblance is uncanny.
  9. TBF "neo nazi looking dude" could describe a not-insignificant part of the NXT roster these days.
  10. I still can't tell if he's supposed to be a heel making fun of woke stereotypes or if this is how Vince/Bruce think these things work.
  11. I love how WWE's answer to AEW presenting a more emotionally gripping product with characters you can relate to is "more one dimensional early 90s gimmicks" in NXT 2.0... Like this D'Angelo dude might be the next Bryan Danielson in the ring but why should I give two shits about his dude-who-talks-shit-and-gets-whacked-on-the-Sopranos lookin' ass?
  12. They broke up every women's tag team other than the champs. Shows how important those belts are. Even Nattie and Tamina are on different shows now. Funny thing about that, Nattie walked to the back thinking Tamina was right behind her. She wasn't, so on TV it looked like she walked out on her partner.
  13. Forgot to offer thoughts and prayers for the Smackdown women's roster, who are about to have their heads kicked the fuck in by Xia Li.
  14. Well its not like they need to teach an Olympic gold medalist how to wrestle! (I kid, I kid) Having him go right to the main roster makes the most sense, that way he only has to learn how to bump and they can just let him go out there instead of wasting his time doing football drills at the PC. Also I appreciate Becky going full Irish and picking a fight for Bianca and Charlotte to finish.
  15. I was hoping Lashley was gonna come out and destroy Roode to make it clear there's only one BIG BOB in WWE.
  16. I suppose one thing I would have liked to see gone into is just how Arai ended up the new owner. Like everyone's reaction to finding out the news was "what, really? the announcer guy?" and he seemed in over his head from the start. Did Onita work him into thinking he could run the company or did Arai actually think he could move into the boss's chair and then quickly get slapped in the face by reality?
  17. The fact that WWE still does 20 minute promos to this day (albeit usually with multiple people instead of one) shows how WWE brain works. Instead of seeing it as something that only worked because the Rock is the most charismatic person who ever stepped foot in a ring they see it as an integral part of a successful wrestling show that you have to master to become a top level star. Just like they learned the best way to create a babyface star is to beat them constantly instead of learning it only worked because Bryan Danielson is a wizard. I also agree 100% HHH has done so many of them as a way of proving he's better than Rock at them. No doubt he thinks he *is* better at them too. Dave mentioned the other day that Vince is hoping to land Rock for Survivor Series if the availability works out, and if that happens I would sell a kidney to be able to be able to witness the discussion he would have with post-NXT overhaul Hunter.
  18. How common was that though? The most danger a fan would normally face in the 80s would be falling asleep during a long resthold sequence and spilling their beer. Also a point for the 80s was that wins and losses mattered so you'd see crowds go crazy for their favorites winning by DQ or countout because a win's a win.
  19. I think the worst of the 80s was miles ahead of the worst of the 90s too. Most of the "bad" 80s matches were inoffensive short ones with roided up monsters. Most of the "bad" 90s matches tend to involve people who were either under-trained or otherwise had no business being in a match.
  20. Don't forget the "make Roman look good" line from the famous Punk interview that pretty much conformed what everyone was suspecting re: forcing Roman down people's throats.
  21. I mean, heel Vince was the best villain wrestling has ever seen. Both in terms of how he played his role and how he got others over. In the end he got nWo-itis and shit went on too long past the point it felt like they did everything they could do storyline wise, but at that time Rock was starting to do outside projects and Austin's neck was being held together with scotch tape so I get why they were afraid to close the book on Evil Vince.
  22. I loved his response to being asked about what it's like to work with barbed wired (it sucks!), it was like maybe this guy isn't as crazy as we thought, then everything else was like "nah, he def is as crazy as we thought he he was".
  23. Man, KO sure looks like a dude playing out the string until his contract ends doesn't he?
  24. Piper's Mid Atlantic run was good, there's a couple of good TV matches from that run on the Network.
  25. Why does this company have such a hard on for keeping the New Day apart? I mean I know why, but it's aggravating.
