  1. What's funny is with their "no one under 6'2" rule back in effect, there would seem to be no reason for this unless there's some secret cache of tall ass refs hiding out somewhere.
  2. LOL Also this reminded me of how long it took them to get the full Mid South library because Bill Watts'' ex owned a chunk and she was looking for a payout rather than any attachment to the rasslin.
  3. Actually it probably fell through because WWE is notoriously cheap in their offers for footage because most of the time they're buying them from broke ass promoters or their families who just want to get rid of it. Sinclair probably got a lowball offer and told them to GTFO.
  4. Am I crazy to think he's somehow managed to exceed everyone's lofty expectations? We all knew he was going to be great but he's already had more bangers in like 5 weeks than he had in the last 5 years of his WWE run. He's out here doing pretty much everything he's ever wanted to do plus doing things for shits and giggles like working that Dark taping no one would give a solitary fuck about otherwise.
  5. I really, really hope TK gets the rights to the library. Not just because of All In, but more selfishly it deserves better than to be added to the piles of content never to get added to the WWE Network. I guess we'd at least see a match or two in a Best of Seth Rollins DVD, but yeah.
  6. I just love that the point was made by someone with a Goldust avatar (a gimmick designed to get heat with that very same hyper masculine culture). (also not being sarcastic, I really did love seeing that. makes me remember why I like this place so much)
  7. He's allowed to pursue any career he wishes to. I'm allowed to not support a homophobe if I don't want to. That's how freedom works. If your income takes a hit because of something fucked up you say or do, it's not the fault of the people who don't want to do business with you. It's your fault for saying or doing the shitty things. I will say there was way more of a need for cognitive dissonance in the 80s and 90s when a high percentage of people in wrestling were shitty for one reason or another. Things have improved a lot since then so I can understand how some folks don't feel the need for such things anymore. I'd actually say it requires a lot more dissonance to be a fan of real sports since it seems another horror story is coming out nearly every day from that world.
  8. There's actually been several attempts at relaunching/rebooting XPW, all end just as you would expect them to.
  9. Homophobia shouldn't be part of anyone's gimmick, neither should threatening to shoot anyone who tries to teach his kid not to be. If he wants to be in gimmick then tweet about like, chickens and shit. Yeah, his overall presentation does suggest someone who would hold those views, but you don't have to say that shit out loud and if you do the you accept the consequences.
  10. Dante Martin is unreal. Every match he does some move that doesn't seem humanly possible, and does so seemingly effortlessly.
  11. Britt not wanting to put her fingers in Abadon's bloody maw was a great spot. That was a lot more involved than I suspected as well. This is the kind of show that amplifies what makes AEW stand out, three matches, all completely different.
  12. Multiple Submission Bryan vs Murder Spree Mox is going to be a hell of a battle.
  13. It cracks me up hearing Pat inject his native Pittsurgh-ese into commentary, we tend to turn ow/aw sounds into AHN so Smackdown becomes Smack DAHN and it warms my Yinzer heart.
  14. Funny how that tends to follow matches Charlotte is in, as if there's some kind of common denominator involved.
  15. I get that he may be an anomaly in the profession, but all available evidence highly suggests McDevitt is 1: a shitbag and 2 gets the results his client wants and is very skilled at his job. Also it still boggles the mind that the US government (who as Jerry himself pointed out has a 90%+ rate of convictions or plea deals) made such a piss poor case. There seemed to be multiple ways they could have played their hand that would have Vince royally fucked, but they decided to put on a completely clown shoes effort.
  16. Joking, mostly. My takeaway is Jerry gives every impression he's a man who gets shit done but you probably wouldn't want to know how he does it. Like if I wanted to beat charges that I was 100% guilty of Jerry would be the guy I would want to represent me since I know he would do some shit to make it happen.
  17. He's a great ambassador for the company since everything he does comes off as genuine even when he's kayfabe (maybe? lol) slidin' in Becky's mom's DMs.
  18. Despite the gimmick, the Briscoes are both pretty intelligent guys. I would hope Jay has evolved enough to realize how messed up his comments were. I don't expect to see him at any Pride events ever, but its been a decade and minds can change. It's also possible as a smart guy he realized after his tweet allegedly cost him a WWE gig that it might be Best for Business to stfu about topics like that since wrestling (and indy wrestling in particular) has become way more LGBTQ friendly in the years since he said those things.
  19. I might be giving him too much credit, but I don't think Cody is th's delusional. Having Andrade point out (correctly, not even in a heel way) that the people there didn't like him made it clear he is doing a "John Cena but not self aware" gimmick where he's a heel that 100% believes he's a babyface. Like not a heel who knows he's a heel and is just acting like a good guy to be irritating, I think Cody's gimmick here is supposed to be a heel who believes he's honestly a good guy. Maybe it's his way of doing meta commentary on WWE or something. Who knows, but it clearly seems intentional.
  20. Man, this latest episode convinced me Jerry McDevitt is the slimiest lawyer of all time and 100% the guy I would want representing me if I was ever facing serious charges.
  21. By itself it isn't, shit happens after all, but by all accounts Sinclair had little to no protections in place to prevent such attack or any backup plan in case it ever did happen (see ROH having to air a best of show due to "technical issues from their broadcaster" which seems like a nice way of saying that shit is locked down and they didn't have backups) which is inexcusable for a mom and pop TV station let alone a billion dollar conglomerate.
  22. It's amazing how much of this comes down to Sinclair incompetence that had nothing to do with ROH directly. First they overpaid for the Regional Sports Networks they bought from Fox (who had to get rid of them as part of the terms from the Disney buyout, meaning Sinclair had every advantage in the process and somehow *still* overpaid), and then getting attacked by ransomware (which is completely bonkers that a company that size worth that much money apparently had zero protection from that).
  23. That would explain why they never put any of the older stuff up on Honor Club.
  24. Didn't WCW do Nitros in Wheeling? I seem to recall them going there since WWE had the arena in Pittsburgh on lock and it was the biggest arena they could get in the area. I think Scott Hall's debut was in WV too, now that I look back.
  25. I'm sure the Cornette types are stroking out over it, but that was awesome. You knew how that was going to end up and they didn't do any swerves, no bullshit, just gave you what you wanted to see and the fans went wild. Plus the match was pretty good too, costumes aside. The end with Hangman laying out the Elite was some "Vince taking a million Stunners while drowning in beer" shit and it RULED.
