  1. We need a forbidden door segment where Mr. Iguana runs into Luchasaurus.
  2. Also Brian Cage is so awesome as Thanos he needs to find out some way to do that in AEW.
  3. Tito Santana (not that one) entered the Copa Triplemania, keeping that joke alive for another year.
  4. The Marvel match opened things off starting with Arachno (Vikingo as Spider Man) doing the HBK zip line entrance and it ended with LUCHA HULK (probably Murder Clown) doing a run in. Lucha is the best.
  5. Bumping since the show is on tonight, 8pm Central time/9pm Eastern on thecubsfan's Twitch channel, unless you want to use a VPN to pretend to be in Mexico. Will Kenny have 2 amazing matches in 2 days?
  6. The quick overnight numbers just show what TVs were watching Fox during 8-9, 9-10, etc. NFL games would have aired 8-11 EST so it's safe to assume a larger than usual amount of people were watching Fox at those times but not Smackdown.
  7. Saw it mentioned that Rampage had 28 minutes of wrestling while Smackdown had 27 this week. I wonder if it ever occurs to Vince that wrestling fans might like to watch wrestling matches once in a while.
  8. Watching Smackdown right after coming home from Rampage may have been a mistake, but I love that Pat Mcafee has become this generation's David Crockett just marking out having fun watching a wrestling show.
  9. You know I have to give the devil his due @C.S. both my #1 and #2 "best matches I watched in person" are Christian in world title matches (him and Orton from 2011 was the other). Fucking fantastic match, and it's crazy to think Kenny has a main event in Mexico tomorrow (today!) for Triplemania. Also Kenny is the greatest at near falls, he gets the crowd to bite every single time One thing that was very different than the last time I went to an AEW show (like the third or fourth Dynamite was the last one I went to) is how they made Dark feel like something that matters now. No one gave a shit at the last taping I went to, and people were just as hot for it as they were for Rampage. People went nuts for the Wingmen vs Varsity Blondes/Jurassic Express match since they didn't expect to see Jungle Boy. Also they had a match between Dante Martin and Lee Moriarity who is the top indy star here in Pittsburgh. Seeing Dante in person is wild, dude is playing a whole different game than everyone else. Also no one knew who Jamie Hayter was, but the crowd was basically "well she saved Britt so yay for her". Britt did to a promo after the show to introduce her to the crowd and you could feel the collective "ohhhhhh! that's who that is!".
  10. Somehow Tay Conti is even more attractive in person, I didn't think that was possible.
  11. Also Aubrey is super over so far
  12. Tony Khan came out to announce Thunder Rosa as guest commentator for Dark and the ring announcer called him "the man who saved wrestling " lol
  13. I get how that could be bothersome, but he generally reserves the all time great tag for folks who were great at all aspects of wrestling, in a way it actually is praising Bobby even more by saying he was so great in the ring it made the fact that he barely spoke largely irrelevant. I suppose there's a time and place, but Dave's gonna Dave.
  14. So cubsfan was mentioning that NGD was leaving CMLL on their own, the company got wind of it, and put out their announcement tweet saying it was a mutual decision. I suppose "we agreed our most talented trio should leave" is a slightly better look than "anyone not politically connected to the family is fleeing the company".
  15. Not saying it excuses any harassment, but I seem to recall the story being at the time that Mia had COVID and people took that to mean since Keith was missing he must have gotten it from her. Sadly wrestling fans acting like shitbags isn't surprising to me anymore.
  16. Funny thing is that unless something changed, Scott D'Amore isn't an employee of Anthem/Impact and is basically an "independent contractor" executive.
  17. Yeah running your supposed PPV title match on TV ahead of time seems very unlike AEW and makes me think something is afoot. I'm thinking the Elite takes out Christian on Rampage and Kenny's all WHO IS LEFT TO FACE ME AT ALL OUT? before Cult of Personality hits to blow the arena into outer space.
  18. Pretty much, the issue is there apparently no one in the family left who has the patience/appetite to deal with the business side of wrestling. They're fine with having a side hustle that's guaranteed to make them money that they can just stick in a closet and pretend doesn't exist, but when i comes to dealing with things like booking or placating stars, there's no interest there.
  19. Shoutout to Mia Yim, didn't want to leave his side even though it meant she got it too.
  20. Psycho has been pretty good, you could argue he probably wasn't 100% ready when they started his ace push, but he's lived up to the hype. He' seems to have that Cena appeal with the kids too,
  21. I mean....I'll try on Friday, but I'm only one person!
  22. Yeah this show will probably be really good. Andrade hasn't looked great in AEW but Kenny is GOAT and will make this match great by force if necessary. Psycho vs Rey was already going to be emotional for obvious reasons but more so that Rey Escorpion was one of Porky's last rivals. Has all the makings for a "not a dry eye in the house" moment. Faby vs Deonna will be interesting just to for the political aspect. AAA likes the idea of putting a title on a foreign guy to get them eyeballs outside of Mexico (that's why Kenny's Mega champ), but it never seems to work out the way they think it will. I would expect Deonna to win and exactly zero people watching only Impact will even care about the other belt she has. On the plus side, I'd expect Impact to a least mention AAA on TV, which AEW hilariously never seems to do when Kenny comes out with the belt. The Marvel match is always fun just to watch Twitter figure out who was playing the characters.
  23. Despite the Mexico City area getting bumped back in the higher COVID status, the show is going on at the Mexico City Arena (limiting the crowd to 25% capacity in a venue that normally seats about 22k) Due to ongoing legal issues that would have AAA get clowned like people do Impact if anyone could stay awake long enough to read them all, there is technically no way to watch the show outside of Mexico, but cubsfan will be streaming the show on Twitch if you want to watch it. Despite that, the card is actually looking pretty good. The Lineup: Kenny Omega vs Andrade for the AAA Mega Championship Faby Apache vs Deonna Purrazzo title for title AAA and Impact women's titles Psycho Clown vs Rey Escorpion mask vs hair A trios match with the Marvel characters AAA created for that deal they made Drago, Mamba, Mr. Iguana, and probably a lot of other people TBA (not as many TBA people as normal due to COVID restrictions ) in the Copa Triplemania rumble) Fenix/Penta vs Hijo del Vikingo/Laredo Kid vs Taurus/TBA for the AAA tag titles and probably the match everyone will be making GIF from after the show Team AAA (Pagano, Chessman, and Murder Clown) vs Team Empresa (Sam Adonis, Puma King and DMT Azul) the heel team is the latest "legally distinct from CMLL" invasion angle and DMT Azul is the former Diamonte Azul under a "legally distinct from my CMLL name" name.
  24. I wonder if we might be seeing the end of CMLL in the not too distant future. Yes, the company is basically incapable of losing money but the only person in the family who gave a shit about wrestling was Paco. As weird as he was with his grudges, he at least had the desire to do *something* with the company. The rest of the family makes their money in real estate and to them CMLL is just that weird thing their dad/grandpa started up 80 something years ago. Sofia had interest too, but the family wasn't having that and ran her off. I wonder if at some point the family is just going to be done with this crazy wrestling stuff and get rid of it. They clearly don't seem to want to deal with anyone either asking for well deserved star treatment like Rush and family, or just clearly top guys like NGD who just want to anything of meaning to do in their careers.
