It is amazing how Ric excelled at getting his opponents over, sometimes to his detriment, yet Charlotte seems to only be good at getting Charlotte over.
-
Several loud WE WANT BECKY chants (which led to Charlotte flipping off the crowd) would indicate chants are not being piped in.

Jesus, that flip bump to the floor Rhea took...

Charlotte looking leaned out like she's about to do a fitness competition.

Building up Lashley for that young stud GOLDBERG, bruh.

This crowd really wants Naomi to win. Also poor Zelina got someone's makeup on the back of her pants so she looks like she had an accident.

I don't care if she designed it herself or not, this Almost a Super Hero deal is super lame.

The women's MITB actually might be the match I'm most looking forward to, both from the potential trainwreck appeal and for the fact that it's a rare case of a WWE match where the winner isn't patently obvious going in. Putting the Mysterios/Usos match on the pre show makes no sense from a storyline perspective. It's been part of the main event angle on Smackdown, and it doesn't even make the main show? Unless this is some sort of weird "punishment" for Jimmy's DUI, it makes no sense.

The main event was a great example of why Kenny is one of the greats. He works the style of the guy he's facing and is able to adjust what he does to work in that style. I noticed it when he faced Rey Fenix in AAA and it really saw it here. Not only that, he's able to do it in a way that creates a great match and puts over the opponent in the process.

So I bit the bullet and ordered Slammiversary. X match was pretty good, I thought Josh Alexander was doomed to a fate of being Ethan Page's Marty but he's been great as X champ. Chelsea Green debuted as Matt Cardona's mystery partner in her Impact "Hot Mess" gimmick but not the old Laurel Van Ness name.

Smackdown was back over 2 million viewers, so it looks like in fact people like wrestling more when there's fans. I actually thought the show was pretty good. Nothing earth shattering of course, but a perfectly fine TV show. Part of me can't believe they are still going to try to do the fake Thunderdome reactions on shows with fans, but then the other part of me is like "well of course they are, being the weird control freaks they are". Funny thing is it's not like the crowd was dead, they were reacting the whole time so it's not like they needed to add sweetening to liven things up.

I do like the new set, refreshing change after like what, two decades?

It's gonna be real hilarious if WWE keeps using the Thunderdome fake crowd noise to make sure fans react the "right" way.

I've also seen people claim that Tony himself is buying tickets to make sure it sells out, which.....okay Jan. What's funny is that it's not like WWE is doing poorly selling tickets. Tonight's Smackdown, the PPV, and I believe Raw on Monday are all either sold out or so close to it it might as well be a sellout. Both companies have shows that are doing great and ones that aren't. It does occur to me that part of the reaction to AEW selling better in NYC than WWE is that it's been 20+ years since WWE ever came in second in any meaningful metric that there's a generation or more of fans who don't seem to think it's possible for it to happen without some kind of shenanigans behind it.

Funny thing is she's spent so much time in developmental doing nothing but job, if she does literally anything on the main roster it would be a success. The bar is so low for her it would almost be impossible for her to underwhelm unless she goes out there and has a Jenna from Survivor level match.

The #ForTheBrand WWE stans are going to have their work cut out for them to come up with excuses that aren't "AEW is a hot product and WWE is an ice cold product run by an old man who actively fights his fanbase". I suppose that "but scaplers!" will still be their standby, despite the fact that WWE shows generally have a higher percentage of tickets on secondary markets.

The highest drawing segment was the Britt promo and the start of Sammy/Yuta. So the good doctor = ratings.

On the heels of Dynamite beating Raw in the 18-49 demo, WWE really seems to have its pulse on the youths with the tidbit SRS just dropped:
