I mean, their way of heeling on the AEW crowd is to be corny goobers. YMMV on if its effective of course, but that clearly seems to be the plan here.

I mean of course the Elite are going to heel it up with corporate synergy. They know exactly what buttons to push to wind up their fan base.

It's kind of even more ridiculous when you read the spoilers and see how it played out.

Funny thing is, the official NXT account posting that picture could be seen as someone being passive-aggressive after Lee was chumped out on Raw (again). Also from the tone of his recent tweets, Lee sounds like a dude at the end of his rope and looking for an exit strategy.

I thought Ric was under some sort of a Legends deal with WWE, so that would be interesting if he showed up.

A program of Joe smashing his way through NXT would be the most exciting thing they've done in years.

Apparently Porky was considered a legit bad ass in his day, and that's why he didn't look as out of place in that environment as you would have thought.

Joe has such a bad ass aura about him, more than almost anyone I've ever seen in wrestling. You can put him up against anyone in WWE/NXT and I'd believe he'd smash them.

Psycho Clown mentioned in his comments today that his father died of a heart attack, which he had several of the last few years to the point they were doing Fritz Von Erich style fake heart attack angles with him. Porky always reminded me of an alternate universe Terry Funk where instead of having two different careers as a technical wrestler and then a hardcore legend, he went from legendary trios wrestler (to the point it made trios a lucha staple) to being the greatest comedy wrestler there ever was. It was hard for people who only saw the comedy guy to believe the other version existed, but for someone to be that good at two completely different styles it speaks volumes.

Apparently she rolled her ankle during that spot, and it was bad enough that she couldn't even put weight on it when she was being helped out. Obviously Tamina isn't the greatest wrestler, but props to her for holding it together.

Brother KawadaSmile would probably get a kick out of what just happened: my wife came in while I was watching the US team in beach volleyball, saw "BRASIL" on the opposing team's shirts, and had like a 10 second existential crisis that she had been spelling it wrong her whole life. cubsfan just tweeted that his death was confirmed tonight, he was in poor health for a while. Not only was he part of one of the most famous trios of all time with his brothers, he's also the father of several wrestlers. Not the least of which is the ace of AAA, Psycho Clown.

People should have been pissed that the NXT champ got geeked out, doesn't mean you have to use Keith Lee to rehab him when there's like a dozen 24/7 dorks who could have been in this place.

I just don't get why you'd beat Lee like this after going out of your way to make Kross look like a geek. I hope Lee's deal is up soon so he can go literally anywhere else.

Drawing power always seemed pretty clear to me. If someone appearing on your show sells more tickets or raises your TV rating, they are a draw. Now to be fair after a year with no fans and TV viewers not as into watching said no fans wrestling, it's been hard to gauge recent trends. Now that crowds are back and TV ratings have gone back to pretty close to what they were before the pandemic, it should be easier to parse who is moving the needle.
