Honestly the Legend Killer gimmick is what got him over IMO. Beating up old timers got him that visceral "how dare you" heat, and in typical WWE fashion the only lesson the company learned was "we should only bring back legends to get beat up".

Tropicana Field is in St. Petersburg, which is about 2 hours away in an area so remote the Rays couldn't pay baseball fans to attend games there even when the team would be competitive.
