The reasoning (at least as how I understand it) is that anyone who got fired over it was probably not some innocent lamb caught in the murky waters of social media. Well it's true in the sense that it takes someone with the talent level of Benoit, Guerrero, Danielson, and Asuka to outshine typically counterproductive WWE booking. If you have GOAT level talent you will rise to the top, even in WWE.

Thing with Dream is even before all the allegations came out, the luster was off him as a star. Not sure what happened but he went from the must watch part of any Takeover to "oh man, not another Dream match" fast and I'm not even sure why. Perhaps live crowds were a bigger part of his deal than we realized.

The more telling sign to me was that the announcers were way less enthusiastic about Lee than they were before, that's often a tell that Vince is no longer as interested in someone.

They brought up Keith Lee and then don't have him do Keith Lee things in the ring, so I wouldn't be surprised if Vince is already over him.

To me it speaks to the cult mentality that goes on there. Someone on the WO board pointed out that you never see anyone from any other company Dave covers lash out at him other than WWE people. The most I've seen is him getting into a few debates with some dim-bulb UFC fighters over COVID denial theories, but you never see anyone from literally any other promotion in the world come at him like WWE zealots do when it comes to his coverage. Funny how dude covers practically every real and fake combat sport company on the planet, but he's only a lying liar to people associated with one particular company. Some of that obviously is due to the Bischoff/Russo/Cornette fans buying in to gimmicks designed to get podcast numbers, but when you see people who were treated like shit by a company still leaping to blindly defend anyone who points out that things are not all rainbows and unicorns there.
